Today, I can announce that the Episode 10 development is complete and the episode is being beta tested.
With the completion of Episode 10, Season 3 now stands at ~60% total completion.
Currently, Season 3 consists of Episode Interlude, Episodes 9 and 10.
Episodes 11 & 12 remain to be developed before Season 3 is complete.
Season 3 is roughly 12 GB today, including 12,000 images, 700 animated scenes, and 80 new songs.
Season 3 is already comparable to Season 2 in size and content, even when two episodes remain to be developed.
Among the improvements you'll discover in Season 3, you'll find an overall higher image and animation quality. I've also developed new exciting mini-games for this season.
Thanks for your support and patience while I'm putting all my efforts into developing the best game I can create.

This upgrade includes major changes, as the game is upgraded to 64-bit now. Overall performance should increase, and you should encounter fewer, if any, crashes from memory errors. Please note, there might be some issues with loading some of your save files with this patch, but hopefully, everything will work without any issues. If you encounter an error when loading a save, try clicking ignore or rollback a few times.

I'm working myself to the bone to pack it with even bigger episodes and more content than the first season had to offer.
Check out the store page that just launched and don't forget to follow and wishlist the DLC.
As soon as I have more news to share about this upcoming release, you will be the first ones to know.

The development of the second season of Being a DIK just hit 75% completion.
The second season will be bigger than Season 1 and include four brand new episodes.
So far, with one episode left to develop before I can release it on Steam, 566 animated scenes and over 9700 images have been produced for the second season.
This means that Season 2 is already bigger than Season 1, so you can expect plenty of content.
Before release, there will be a store page for the DLC where you can wishlist the game.
I don't have any ETA when the Steam release is.
The timeframe depends on how the development of the final episode of the season fares.
I have uploaded a patch for Being a DIK - Season 1 to Steam.
Here are the patch notes:
- During free roam events, any progress made in phone apps will be saved when saving the game.
- Fixed a bug that caused a conflict between entering save names, pet names and other inputs.
- Any illegal characters typed for your save name will be removed immediately to avoid getting a blank save name.
- Lowered the volume of the intro splash screen and made its sound level controlled by the SFX channel.
- Set the power save option to be disabled by default to favor performance over energy settings.
- Updated the money system backend.
- Replaced the animations for the main girl episode report and updated the design.
- Added a presplash loading image.
- Added a skip 5 pages at the time button for the Save/Load screen.
- Disabled right-clicking the Skip button to skip to the next choice.
- The middle-mouse button now brings up the in-game phone and can be used to close any children menu of the phone.
- The quick menu will be hidden when using the phone and restored when closing the phone.
- The save/load menu will be hidden when using the phone and restored when closing the phone.

- Fixed a rare bug with Shuffle.

- Corrected typos in episodes 1-4
It's been a very weird and possibly dark year for all of us.
But even when things are dark in our lives, we should appreciate the things that aren't and find something that keeps us going.
For me, creating this game has been a way to get through 2020. It's brought me a lot of joy through all the ups and downs.
Thank you all for the support you've shown me since the release of Being a DIK - Season 1!
I'm working hard on bringing you the continuation.
Cheers to all of you maggot brothers and HOT sisters!
Merry Christmas, Happy holidays and have a wonderful new year!
Dr PinkCake
I'm working daily on the Being a DIK - Season 2 DLC and today I'm happy to announce that it is 50% complete.
Currently, Season 2 has 5793 images and 319 animations. Meaning that Season 2 will be bigger than Season 1, when it's fully developed.
Furthermore, a patch for Being a DIK - Season 1 has been uploaded to Steam.
Here are the patch notes:
- Updated code for affinity and DIK status calculations.
- Added an optional text box mode with an opacity slider to the preferences menu. Text legibility is improved by enabling this mode, but you will get centered text and a low opacity black text box when playing the game.

- Your affinity will now be displayed in conjunction with major choices.

- When unlocking a special render, the character you unlocked a render for will have an exclamation mark in the Rewards app.
- Corrected typos
Today a patch launched for Being a DIK - Season 1. I don't want to update the game too often since there's a risk that some old saves become incompatible with every patch. That's sadly how the RenPy engine works with save files. I hope that too many aren't affected by this and if you experience any issue loading an old save, try clicking Ignore or Rollback a few times and see if it pops back into gear. This patch brings fixes and improvements to the game. The most noteworthy fix is that the Gallery counter, which in some cases made players miss the gallery achievement, has been fixed. Let me know in the discussion forum if you need any assistance. On a further note, the development of Season 2 is approximately 25% completed. A huge thanks for your support! Best regards Dr PinkCake Changelog

- Fixed a bug that occasionally caused cheating in English mini-games to fail.
- Added timers that hide the money and special render banners that pop-up and occasionally didn't disappear during the game.
- Added an icon to indicate if a Cluck in Rooster is new.
- Fixed a bug where you could repeatedly play guitar in Isabella's home during her free-roam event in Episode 4.
- You can now use whitespace (space) in the save names.
- Updated the Chat and Swyper apps chat interface.
- When you unlock new gallery pictures in Swyper, the main menu of Swyper will show indicators for it.
- Changed the backend calculation of unlocked renders. Achievements should unlock for gallery scenes now.
- Fixed a bug where a wrong render would show when buying from Derek, during his free-roam event in episode 4.
I'm happy to announce that community items such as trading cards, badges etc. are now available! Cheers Dr PinkCake
Thank you all for reporting bugs to me. I'm monitoring the threads and trying to fix everything that gets reported. This is a list of bugs that I have fixed since release. Restart Steam and you should get an update with the latest changes.
- Fixed a bug in episode 1 where the chat with Josy wouldn't trigger a dialogue prompt during the date in certain cases.

- Two animations were added to a lewd scene (episode 4).
- Fixed a bug that caused cheating to fail on the English test in episode 4.
- Fixed a cosmetic bug with Brawler with text messages after winning a fight multiple times and getting no reward.

Hello! I'm happy to announce that, after almost 1.5 years of development, the first season of Being a DIK is now live on Steam! I have big plans for this game in the future and what you can play today is a lengthy start of a long adventure. It couldn't have been achieved without the support I've received from patrons and fans. The support I've received during development of this game made it possible for me to start working as a full-time indie developer and that has been a dream come true. Trading cards and community items will be activated as soon as possible; the artwork is ready to go, all that's missing is a player base on Steam. I hope that this game will bring you lots of joy! Please, enjoy this labor of love! Cheers Dr PinkCake
After working hard on the Steam build for Being a DIK: Season 1, I can now announce that the release date on Steam will be Valentine's day, February 14th, for PC and Linux systems. Due to Apple's new forced notarization policy, a macOS version won't be supported on Steam, for now. Add the game to your watchlist and you'll get a message when it's released. Cheers Dr PinkCake

Being a DIK is a choice driven adult Visual Novel (VN).
In this game you play as a young male attending college and the choices you make will affect the characters around you and shape your character and adventure.
Will you choose to play as a nice, caring and romantic guy or as someone more straightforward and daring?
The girls in the game like different and may or may not be attracted to you based on your choices. Can you resist the temptations along the way to get the girl of your dreams or will you relent and just...experiment? Hey, it's college after all!
The game is a Visual Novel and it's made more interactive through optional mini-games and free-roam events where you can explore the current environment. You can purchase boosters, cheats and skills to make the mini-games easier to pass and find hidden items that unlock special lewd artwork and more.
Being a DIK Season 1 includes Episodes 1-4:
- Episode 1 - The Initiation
- Episode 2 - Maggot Brothers
- Episode 3 - 100%
- Episode 4 - When worlds collide
Season 1 is packed with more than 300 animated scenes and 7000 images.
You can expect an 8-12 hour game that can be replayed numerous times to experience different paths and girls.
Being a DIK: Season 2, and future seasons, will be a continuation to the story and released as DLC.
