Additional Content - Symbology

First of all, I want to personally thank everyone that played Areia. An extra thanks for those who dedicated an extra time to write a review.

We are using the next month to fix bugs and also add a bit more content to the game

From reviews, we've seen that a considerable amount of people wanted to understand the symbology we used in Areia. So our primary goal now is to think about how we can fill this gap.

We gathered our team and came up with a few suggestions, but before deciding anything, we want to hear from you, the ones that came up with the idea in the first place.

Our first and most intuitive solution was to create a menu section where you can explore the symbology behind Areia. Each piece of information would be unlocked as you progress through the game and interact with extra content.
However, we don't want to change the experience for a new player. More specifically, we don't want the game to have a "collect everything" feeling. We want the journey itself to be the most meaningful part.

In this sense, we imagined enabling this section only after you beat the game the first time. Something like a New Game+. Here you will be able to check if you collected all extras and understand more about the Areia's symbology.
We also want to introduce a brand new collectable that wouldn't exist in a first playthrough, just on the new game+. By interacting with this new collectable, even more detailed information about Areias symbology is unlocked and, of course, a new achievement can be earned.

I'm attaching an image to illustrate our first guess on this Symbology section.

Last but not least, I believe this can also encourage you to replay Areia and find the other ways to complete each level. Actually, do you know that there is an entire level that is played differently depending on how you completed the last one?

We would love to hear your opinion on this.

See you soon!

A small update is now live!

Fixed a few bugs including a rare bug that could cause players to get stuck after loading a saved game.
Added a setting that allows players to invert the camera vertical look direction (a.k.a. Invert Y Axis).
