WIth just two days left to go, the Battledroid Kickstarter appeal is sat at 98%, just shy of our goal! This is absolutely amazing, and we can't thank everyone enough. We're confident it's going to reach its minimum funding level before everyone buggers off on holiday or has a General Election tomorrow.
What does this mean for you?
This means that Battledroid is going to be released, and has enough funding to ensure that we can add loads of new things into it and keep developing it and shaping it into the sprawling magnum opus that we all hoped it was going to be. With a bit of marketing money behind it we might even manage to ensure that there are thousands of bloodthirsty would-be conquerors all trying to kill each other shortly after launch. For backers, it means you get all the cool rewards that being a backer gets! Most backers are going to start the game with a big collection of battledroids and turrets and other defences, and a pile of gold. Some even more generous backers are going to have custom skins that only backers get. And yet other backers with until-recently bulging wallets burning a hole in their trousers will even have exclusive skins that they designed themselves or even ... entire battledroids designed to their own specification! All the backers also get special badges of recognition, marking you out as being awesome and more attractive than other more ordinary people, and they will be proudly displayed on your profile for all to see, and covet wistfully with feelings of regret on missing out. Deploy your team of Glitchangels to repair 'THE SYSTEM', one corrupt subroutine at a time.

Choose Your Armies
In the world of BATTLEDROID you’re not alone! You are but one of many commanders who command your units to fight for the glory of your faction. Mix and match the units of your armies for maximum strategic effect be you defending at a choke point or attacking a flank!
COLLECT THEM ALL
Armies found in BATTLEDROID are made up of many kinds of units. All are able to be collected by you over time as you play. Units have different stats, abilities, and battle costs.
To deploy your army you must not go over budget on your battle cost so choose your units wisely. Brute force wins sometimes but most of the time strategy is the deciding factor in victory!
Every Unit Matters
Every unit you get is a able to be put in your armies, get kills, unlock veteran ranks. But destroyed units stay destroyed! Everyone is paying for keeps, winner take all! Play to win or else!
Need more units? You can construct new units within your faction's territory with your daily per diem. Or you can buy units as available from the various shops. Supplies are limited though, so grab them while you can!
WAR!
From Europe, to Asia, to the Americas, the conflict rages on between the fierce capitalistic tech factions of BATTLEDROID.
Can you construct your defences to withstand the enemy attacks, build up your army of Battledroids, and advance your forces into enemy lines to claim victory for your faction?
Conquer!
The Earth is divided up into a huge hex-grid of territories, each harbouring a game resource. Successfully invade a territory and you can create armies that use those resources.
As you attack territories around the world and conquer them, your enemies will be doing the same. There are strategic advantages to maintaining contiguous (unbroken) territory, and to having lots of territory - but not advantages that prevent other players from defeating you!
Open up new and exciting strategies and possibilities as you progress. The larger your contiguous territory is, the more points you'll have when placing defences. The more territories your possess, the more different kinds of units you'll have to play with!
Defend!
Once you have conquered a territory, you capture the army within and it will act on your behalf. However, you can throw it away at any time and replace it with an army of your own. You must devise a well-structured and balanced army that can withstand attack in your absence!
Strategize!
Upon selecting a territory to attack, you are presented with a simulator, showing you the configuration of the incumbent defences. Plan your invasion! Select, deploy, and program your forces, to defeat the enemy.
Battledroids are autonomous and will fight as they see fit according to your commands. Replay and adjust your strategy in the simulator. When you're happy with your plans, launch the attack!
Attack!
You can then watch the battle unfold as it happens. You are not guaranteed success in the real battle based on a successful simulation! Changes in the starting conditions can sometimes have a deciding effect. The trick is to design an attack such that the effect of these changes has minimal effect on the final outcome.
