Update 5: Playtesting, New Maps, Bug fixes

Good morning! Recently, we have done a lot of work and had a lot of changes, let's start with playtesting.


We have done a lot of playtesting now, typically every week with 1-3 players to keep it organized and simple. We've gotten a lot of information and bug reports etc from these playtests, and it's really great! If you are interested in playtesting, join our discord at https://discord.gg/jAAWs9P .

While playtesting, I have been working on a new small map inspired by real life. I'll post some screenshots later on, this map will be the first map to be fully completed and published.

Update 4: Leaks, New Ai, New Outpost and planning system.

Good evening. this week we have been working on the following:

New AI system and a better world building system. We really value the AI in the game, as it's half of it. Being able to manipulate, predict and counter the Ai is a pillar for the game, we have been working on that now and it works great!

New Outpost. Our primary outpost that you start out with has recently felt a bit empty, we have been working on it and making it more alive and making it have a better atmosphere. In addition to this, we have worked on a new heist planning system that takes place in the outpost. We started the new planning system 2 days ago, and I cannot disclose much information about it.

If you're active in our Discord server, you may have seen a leak of some changes. We are happy to share this and upload it here, since you can already find it.

A New Calendar

Hi there, we got some updates regarding Fastidious and it's development!

[h3]Some changes:[/h3]
Fastidious will unfortunately be delayed until Late October 2020. A rushed game will never be good, but a game with a lot of effort and passion put in to it will.

We have also not pushed any weekly updates recently as we wanted to focus on working on the game for 4 weeks straight, 11 hours a day. We will from now on have a 2 week interval between the updates to allow us to work at a greater speed whilst focusing on Fastidious!

A new 3D Artist has joined the team, Zit is a experienced 3D Artist with multiple games under his belt and creates beautiful models!

We have been working on new and interesting maps based on real events and locations, in addition to that we have been optimising the game to run at 90 FPS on a average machine as we value it.

  • Dragging bodies and hiding them.
  • Better feedback system for pickups.
  • Picking locks.
  • Skill System!





The boring mumbo-jumbo stuff for geeks!

Object Pooling has been implemented allowing us to have thousands of thousands of entities at the same time, this also means that we can have a lot of NPCs at the same time.
HLOD has been implemented to save FPS on larger buildings as well as world composition, both a UE feature.

Weekly Update 3: Upcoming Trailer and New Features

Weekly Update #3
We are working on a trailer and a lot of features including but not limited to: Gadgets and Placements, Improved UI and new map based in Poland.

Trailer
We are working on a trailer for the game that should be done in in some weeks. Get more involved on our Discord :)

Features and Tweaks
- Gadget and Placement, place gadgets such as jammers on ATMs causing it to spit out money to create a distraction.

- UI Improvements, several changes to the UI making it minimal and easy to understand.

- Weapon placement changed, we have changed where the weapon is in First Person to make it look better and feel more satisfying.

- Hitmarkers, simply makes the gunplay feel way better and confirms your hits.

New Map
We have been planning this map for a while, it will be a luxury bank in Poland. Our Level Designer went there for inspiration and taking pictures, we want to make it feel very realistic, accurate and to tell a story. Screenshots will be posted in the Discord server that can be found on the store page.

Weekly Update 2: Improved Aesthetics and Optimizations

Weekly Update #2
We haven't been able to get that much done since we have all been on vacation for a week, we have improved the aesthetics and optimized the game to run a little bit better.

Aesthetics
We have worked on Aesthetics a lot to make the game look and feel better. We have worked on a lot of new shaders that will allow us to make more interesting materials in the future. We are not trying to make the game look photorealistic, since we can't achieve that and it will look awkward if we do try. We are a limited team and hence our limited capabilities, so instead of thinking of it as a weakness, we embrace it and make it our strength. The game will not look stylized and cartoonish.

TLDR; The game will look better, but not stylized/cartoonish.


Optimizations
We have optimized the game a lot to run at least 60 fps on a mainstream pc and on Epic Settings. You can change all graphics settings in game in the settings menu to improve your fps and change the looks of the game.

Weekly Update 1: Improved AI, Fences/Darkweb, Refined Interaction System

Weekly Update 1 This is our first Weekly Update for the Game and we are working so hard to get it out there and make it great! [h3]AI Improvements:[/h3] I have been working hard to make the Ai/Npcs feel realistic and alive. Prior to this update they felt rigid and simulated and they were there simply to be there. Now they have something to do, they have a story, they have priorities and always have a purpose. We have also been working on a "Presence System" for the NPCs that we will talk more about later. [h3]Darkweb:[/h3] We have been planning this system for a while now and have finally implemented it. You can now go on to your PC in your Outpost and open the Darkweb where you can sell gear/loot/items as well as buy. You will gain credibility which allows you to buy more and better things! [h3]Interaction System:[/h3] We are currently working on this and we have a pretty good idea on how it will turn out. We want to make the interaction system more intriguing and make it so that players are introduced to new approaches to a heist. We will talk more about this later as well.
