Status Report
Hello Spy Bugs players!
First of all we want to thank you for all the input and support you guys are giving to us! You guys are AMAZING!
With this, we are starting to make our roadmap based on your feedback and most wanted features!
First of all I want to state that we want to be as transparent as we could be. If there will be delays on the updates we will give you the reason why.
For now I ask you to keep in mind that we are just a 5 man team, with some of us having another job besides game development.
Our dream is to have everyone here working on full time and aim to be a greater studio always with the players in mind!
With Spy Bugs we want to show to you that Early Access is a viable option to make a game with the community's help and not a way to "trying to sell broken games". By no means we will halt Spy Bugs development, not now nor ever! Personally, as a Early Access buyer, I HATE when someone doesn't update its game that is still on Early Access. Those devs are a shame for the developers community!
After the full release we plan to support Spy Bugs as further as the community wants to play it. But its still too early to make that statements of what Spy Bugs will be after the full release because our roadmap can change a lot during the Early Access.
With that being said, lets just see what the future holds for us!
Right now, and with the help of some players we have identified some major bugs. Some are already fixed, others are being fixed:
Known Issues
- Some bugs land in mid air
- Sometimes when stuck, we can fall outside the level [FIXED Dev Branch]
- Xbox Controller bugs all the keys [Temporary Solution - Disconnect all the controllers and use Keyboard + Mouse]
- Sometimes the mouse cursor gets stuck on the screen after minimizing the game.
Right now this is all the bugs that we are aware of. If there is some others that aren't listed here please tell us via the discussions, Facebook message, etc...
What are we working on:
- The Living Room Map - [Concept Art]
- Battery Mechanics
- Giant Hornet Special Attack
- A way to distinguish team players from enemy's.
Now, just a quick FAQ:
Q: I'm not hitting my enemy's while I'm on third person camera! Is that a bug?
A: Nope! Use your T to target the enemy you want to engage. After that your crosshair knows that's the target you want to hit and it will center the shots to the middle. While on first person you don't have to do that since you have more precision on the shot.
Q: How regular you will release updates?
A: Sometimes there are some minor bug fixes that we don't announce. Since we are only 5 guys to develop and to do stability tests we will just announce when we add major content or game changing. We are going to take all the time needed to ensure that there is nothing that could eventually break the game.
Q: What is the game mode we've been playing?
A: Its called Info Retrieve! Kill enemy bugs and collect their black boxes (or memory sticks)! The team who collects more, wins!
Q: We see that you have an health power-up. There will be more right?
A: Of course! The power-ups will be divided in minor and major and they will spawn randomly! Stay tuned for future updates in this matter.
