Hooray again! The Driftmoon Soundtrack is now available on Steam!
The official Driftmoon soundtrack, composed by the talented Gareth Meek. You won't need the Ooz slime earmuffs here! Includes lossless flac files. The music Gareth created gave the game a perfect blend of peace and excitement, and we couldn't imagine Driftmoon without it. We've unfortunately lost contact with our dear musician, so if you're reading this Gareth: Thank you!
Pro tip: There is a bundle to buy both the game and the soundtrack for a -20% price. If you already have the game, you won't need to buy a second copy, while you still get the -20% price for the soundtrack.
I love listening to music when I develop my games. My favourites are game soundtracks, especially melodic pieces from games of the 1990-2000 era. In case you're interested, here are some of the tracks I listen to: Ville's Favourite Game Music. Feel free to tip me off on any good additions to my list!
As it happens, there is also a free version of the Driftmoon soundtrack on YouTube, give it a go even if you're not planning on buying! This version doesn't get us any income however, so if you really find yourself listening to it more than a few times, or would like a better quality version, consider buying the soundtrack.
And to top it all, we've been sitting on some exciting news: Something new is brewing on the cooktop! (Yes, it's a new home-cooked, Instant Kingdom game! Yay!! ) We can't reveal too much yet, but stay tuned for more. And do consider signing up to be notified when our new game is released.
I was playing the game and I noticed a new character in the game, an invisible disembodied voice! When I was finally able to talk to it, I found out that it was my own message bottle character, only it was nearly invisible, being so tiny! An update of the Unity engine used by the game had caused some 3d models to import with different settings. So here's a new version for you, I added some other updates while I was at it.
If you've always yearned to try out our adventure roleplaying game Driftmoon before buying, you might have waited for ten years now! To ease your misery, we've decided to release a demo version of Driftmoon on Steam. It will allow you to discover the bizarre turn of events in your home village, play through a good few quests, and journey your way all the way to the end of the first exciting dungeon (probably around 45-90 minutes).
AND: To top it all, you get to meet Blotch the Crabby Pirate, Quan Sixfingers, someone who's better yet left unnamed, and the enchanted light-in-the-dark Fizz! Actually, you do come accross a bunch of other notable Driftmoonian personas too, but surprisingly some of them have gotten themselves into a decidedly non-talking state. So go ahead, light up your torch, and head on over to the colorful world of Driftmoon! (Tip: You can continue the main game from your demo save)
Hi everyone! Driftmoon has been updated. The reason is our daughter Laura played the game almost to the very end, learning a difficult new language, and very much wanted to see the game her parents had made. Unfortunately she found out that just before the end of the game all her companions had gone missing, and the game was unsolvable without them. Turns out that it was possible to leave all your companions behind in the warehouse in the docks region, if you quick traveled out of there using the world map. I believe the problem has been there for well over 11 years now, but it's finally fixed. We're very sorry about the bug Laura, thank you for pointing it out! Here's the changelog:
Hi! This is Ville and Anne, the developers of Driftmoon. The time for releasing Driftmoon - the Enchanted edition - on multiple platforms is finally here, yay! We've had a ton of requests about getting Driftmoon on more platforms. Initially we started work on the Enchanted version right back in 2013 when the first version of Driftmoon was released, until life put a temporary stop to our plans (kids, illnesses, money issues, etc). But we never gave up on our dream of finishing the Enchanted version of Driftmoon. Finally, a year ago we had a chance to resume work on Driftmoon again, and we've worked nonstop ever since. For seven years you've been sending us countless encouraging messages, and also tips on how to improve Driftmoon, so happily we haven't run out of encouragement, or of ideas on what to do. Thanks everyone! What's new compared to the old Driftmoon?
Driftmoon now has achievements! Yay! If you have ideas for new amazing achievements, don't hesitate to post them here, or send us feedback through the game. And now we're on to those trading cards...

The beautiful, enchanted world of Driftmoon trembles in the shadow of a forgotten evil, for the dark King Ixal is again gathering his forces.
Hope lies in an unlikely alliance: A young man joins forces with a little firefly dreaming of stardom, a panther queen with the ego of a moon whale, and a very determined fellow who's lost everything but his bones, and still hasn't given up. Knowing nothing of the amazing adventures and the fearsome foes that await them, the party embarks on a journey like no other.
Driftmoon is an adventure-roleplaying game, full of exploration, smiles and surprises, captivating stories and quests, charming characters, and countless delightful details.
