Yes even the demo now runs on Version 0.4, letting new players experience just how far weve come. After a decent run on the Beta Branch and valuable feedback from those brave enough to test it early, we've ironed out the kinks, polished the edges, and made key improvements based on what you experienced. Patch Notes Steamdolls 0.4 Finalized and deployed after Beta testing Save Data Overhaul The save system has been fully reworked to eliminate stutters on lower-end machines including the Steam Deck. Smoother saves, smoother runs. Energy Recharge Feedback Enhanced animations give a better feel and more responsive energy recharge. Small detail, big impact. Mob Balancing & Enemy Death Improvements Enemy health and speed have been fine-tuned for a fair but challenging combat experience. Enemies now die instantly (no more floaty delays) and won't try to attack while dying. Some placements have been adjusted based on your feedback to reduce frustrating chokepoints. Dash Attack Simplification Weve streamlined the dash attack mechanics for smoother, more intuitive execution. It just feels right now. Improved Map Navigation You can now move the map more freely. Marker tracking system added. Markers now auto-remove after solving puzzles or opening new paths, preventing clutter. Level Design Adjustments Several zones were tweaked to better support stealthy players and reward thoughtful approaches. Ladders (Yes, finally!) Weve fixed and refined ladder behavior after extensive testing. Up you go the right way. Combat Feel Enhancements Better anticipation for Whispers attacks. Freeze frames on hit make combat snappier and more brutal. White flash when humanoid enemies die = instant feedback. Damage colliders and attack animations now sync perfectly. Blade particles and sound effects are retimed to feel cleaner and sharper. Whispers Animator Controller Rework Weve reworked Whispers entire animation controller for smoother, more fluid movement. Includes a brand-new jump animation that finally gives his motion the punch it deserves. Some minor animation bugs may still lurk let us know if you spot any oddities. Bug Fixes & Polish Too many small fixes to list, but the whole experience should feel tighter and more refined now. Whats Next? With 0.4 solidifying the core systems, were shifting gears toward narrative expansion expect new zones, deeper lore, and the next pieces of the story puzzle. Explore the Prison Asylum a place where the mad, the augmented, and the forgotten are locked away... often for knowing too much. Twisted architecture, corrupted surveillance systems. Cells filled with incomplete whispers of the past. Echoes of experiments and rebellions long buried. New Enemies Brutal new foes unique to the Prison Asylum. Twisted ex-soldiers, broken cyborg patients, and eyes that never blink. Expect tighter, more oppressive encounters that test your reflexes and your paranoia. Badass Dialogue: Whisper x Gabriel x ??? The Whisper and Gabriel trade barbs, threats, and philosophical venom. Their ideological clash burns brighter than ever. And then theres... the Warden. A new character shrouded in mystery a wannabe star who think he is in a game show. No one knows who he answer to. Some say he never blink. Some say he is not real. All we know is: he is watching. Experimental Mechanics (Top Secret) Multiple experimental gameplay tests will be hidden inside 0.5. Preparing the game for the next updates coming after it. 0.5 is not just an update its a descent. After a few days of testing and feedback, Version 0.4 will be pushed to the general branch! Patch Notes Steamdolls 0.4 Save Data Overhaul Reworked the save data system to eliminate stutters on lower-end machines, including the Steam Deck. Energy Recharge Feedback New animations enhance the feel and responsiveness of energy recharging. Mob Balancing & Enemy Death Improvements Enemy health and speed have been fine-tuned to create a challenging but fair combat experience. Enemy deaths feel much better! They now die instantly instead of having a floaty delay and will no longer try to initiate an attack while dying. Some enemy placements have been adjusted to reduce overly punishing encounters. Dash Attack Simplification Dash attack mechanics streamlined for smoother, more intuitive execution. Improved Map Navigation More directions to move the map and a manager to track markers, making exploration clearer and navigation easier. Markers now properly erase when you complete a task or remove an obstacle using your abilities, preventing unnecessary clutter. Level Design Adjustments A couple of zones have been reworked to better reward stealthy approaches and encourage strategic gameplay. Ladders (Finally!) Fixed and refined ladder mechanics after extensive testing. Combat Feel Enhancements We've made key improvements to make every hit feel more impactful and satisfying: Better anticipation on some of Whispers attacks. Freeze frames on hit to emphasize impactlet us know if we need more because I honestly dont know if there are enough. White flash effect when humanoid enemies die for better feedback. Retimed damage collider activation to sync better with attack animations. Blade particles and sound effects have been retimed for a cleaner and more responsive feel. Whispers Animator Controller Rework We are in the process of reworking the Whispers entire animator controller to enhance animations and fluidity. Brand-new jump animation! Whisper now has an amazing new jump that makes movement feel smoother and more dynamic. Since this is a major change, there may be some issues, so let us know if you run into anything unusual! Bug Fixes & Polishing Various tweaks, refinements, and small fixes to improve overall gameplay. How to Access the Beta Branch Go to your Steam Library. Right-click on Steamdolls and select 'Properties'. Navigate to the 'Betas' tab. Enter the password: gimmethebeta and select the beta branch. Download the update and play! Your feedback is invaluable! Energy Recharge Feedback: The updated energy recharge system is complete, featuring brand-new animations that bring the games flow and feel to life.
Mob Balancing: Enemy health and speed have been fine-tuned, striking the perfect balance between challenge and fairness. Get ready for encounters that will keep you on your toes!
Dash Attack Simplification: The dash attack mechanics have been revamped for smoother, more intuitive action. Pulling off that perfect move will be easier and more satisfying.
Improved Map Navigation: With enhanced directions and a map manager to track icons, finding your way through the game has never been clearer.
Ladders (Yes, Really!): After countless experiments and iterations, weve finally nailed the ladder mechanics. Thank you for sticking with usthis eternal battle has been won! And also YES we have new animations for climbing up and down.
Minor Corrections: Weve squashed bugs, polished mechanics, and smoothed out rough edges to ensure the best possible experience.
When is it available?
Were currently giving our build a final polish, and we plan to unveil it right after Steamfest. We know everyone is busy enjoying all the amazing demos, so well wait for the perfect moment to make our update shine.
When the next update drops, it will bring Steamdolls to Version 0.4, marking a major milestone! All core mechanics have been improved and perfected, setting a strong foundation for everything yet to come.

Whispers never rest, and neither do we. SteamDolls: Order of Chaos has just been updated to Version 0.3, bringing fresh fixes, improvements, and a new demo. Heres whats changed: Fixes & Adjustments Health orbs now properly drop after stealth kill animationsyour silent work is finally rewarded. Lowered speed and damage of Richards homing bullets (hes still a menace, just less of one). Turret can now break the destructible wall in Zone 3. Corrected a layout issue in Zone 3. Fixed an issue in Zone 2 where Focus wouldnt turn off after a dialogue. New Additions & Improvements 4K resolution is now available! The darkness has never looked sharper. Fire has been added in the ruin scene because whats a ruin without fire? Better recharge feedback on energy dispensersknow exactly when youre juiced up. Began work on refining the weapon wheel feedbackstay tuned. Disclaimer: Weve tried to get the map discovery system under control with this patch. Lets see if it actually worked keep an eye on it and report anything strange. New Demo Available! Hello Citizens, Based on feedback, we've been hard at working updating the demo. Player feedback is extremely important to us, and as we begin to head into Early Access in the near future, we wanted to ensure we had a polished project, and the demo should reflect that. Here are a list of changes implemented in the demo: -Totally revamped COMBAT SYSTEM Concept demo "Aggressive Whisper" is back and even got upgraded! We've overhauled the demo, and added lots of new moves and fluidity to The Whisper. Here are some new attacks added: -Lunge attack -Charge attack -2 swift normal combos -1 walking attack -There is also a brand new comprehensive STEALTH MODE. Concept demo "Sneaking Whisper" is restored to his former glory! -STEALTH ON/OFF feature -Walk animation added for sneaking -Camera effects for stealth mode -Enemies act according to your behavior, with different detections for ON/OFF. -New animations have been added the new move set and indicators for the player, giving a better snappier Whisper to play with. -Shortened start sequence to get quickly into action. Tutorial has been changed. -New TITLE SCREEN with a brand NEW FONT (still work in progress) Here are some things which we are currently working on, to be added soon and to be expected in the upcoming Early Access: REPUTATION SYSTEM A system allowing you to get crucial rewards by killing enemies or exploring the map. "Yes! it is basically XP!" "You will now have an increased incentive to fight!" MORE BALANCING Balancing is in constant flux and we're expecting this to be redone, especially for bosses and standard enemies. BETTER ANIMATIONS FOR EVERY CHARACTERS We are looking to improve most animations in the game to give a snappier experience. Currently we started this by reworking some animations for the whisper, including some reworks to ladders, which are currently partially implemented. BETTER MENUS We are looking to redo the UI in game to be more polished and accessible.

This demo is much longer than the standard demo, and features lots of improvements you may not have seen in past playthroughs of the demo additionally.
