This round of optimizations reduced the linux binaries from around 100 mb to around 35~40mb depending on whether you are running the 64 bit or the 32 bit version of the game or demo! Hope this makes the game better for everyone, but if you find any problems or bugs, please report it in the Help and Support discussion forum.

Thanks for mega for pointing it out in the forums, I've recompiled the export templates for the game following Godot's official documentation of using an older version of Ubuntu for maximum binary compatibility. If anyone is having more problems with it, please report it in the Help and Support discussion forum.

Hello Everyone!
After a long time away, working on my day job, doing some courses and learning new stuff in Godot, I came back with a new vfx update for the game!
There are some other small improvements and bug fixes but the main changes were the addition of particles and shaders to make the game prettier, and more immersive!
First there were some special treatment to the background. Ive added some blur effects in the parallax layers and tinkered with the colors, both to give it more depth and an atmospheric feel as well as to make the main action easier to see. Also some screenshake when you die:
Then to give a boost to the dash now we have an afterimage effect, and tasty particles for ammo up animations:
And of course, one of the most important things: Lasers! Now with glow and particlers, and a "charging" animation for enemies, they are much more lasery than before:
The bosses got their own special treatment, and their screams now literally shake the fabric of reality. For the boss introduction on level 5 there are also some focus shifting effects, that affect both the "blur" itself but also the overall colors:
And the shields were totally reworked:
You can see all of these updates for yourself right now by playing the new demo! It goes up to level 5, the boss introduction, and the save is carried over to the final game!
There will be a very special sale starting tomorrow, so wishlist it now as it will be the perfect opportunity to get the game!
And finally, I'd like to really really thank Nathan and all of the GDQuest Collaborators, because this update would not be possible without their VFX and Shaders courses! The "Sound shockwave" was an effect I wanted to do in this game since day 1, but I had no idea how to do it, and with their courses I was able to do that and much more, do I highly recommend them, there's even a bundle of courses if you prefer!

The game has just been updated to v1.1.8! Along with various small fixes and improvements this update will add a star to any level you've already gotten a highscore! This will make it possible to know which levels are missing highscores for the "All Highscores" achievement! Here is a list of what else has changed:
- added a notification like circle on the "Upgrade" button on the Game Over / Level Complete screen
- Changed the order of buttons so that "Upgrade" is the closest to "Retry" or "Next Level"
- If you go to the level select screen from the pause menu or from any of the end level screens, and regret it, now there is a back shortcut!
- Added Button Prompt legends to the Level Select screen (so you know how to go back when you can)
- Fixed a small bug with double and triple tentacles where the first bottom tentacle would lose it's outline when hit.
- Fixed controller remapping to analog sticks or analog L2/R2

Hello Everyone! Here is another quick update with bug fixing! The main stuff that was fixed was an error preventing high score achievements to be registered, But don't worry, you didn't loose them, they will be triggered as soon as you open the game after updating. There were also some small usability fixes and some tweaking to the first 3 levels to make them a bit shorter but more intense. Again, thanks for your support and patience, and I hope you're enjoying the game!

When fixing a bug in the game where the Credits scene wouldn't open properly, 5 minutes before release, I ended up breaking the "new game" navigation. Now it's fixed! Thanks A LOT to Artur for reporting it! That's it kids, don't fix minor bugs carelessly JUST before release! Also if you're having any issue with the game, please post at the Help and Support Section of the forums. Thank you for your support, and I'm DEEPLY sorry for any inconvenience and this blunder rigth at release!
