Wraithslayer on Steam
A single procedurally generated boss battle in a nightmarish abstract horror world.
Wraithslayer takes place in an abstract horror world where the player is bound to a single fight against a monstrosity known as a Wraith. Dodging the Wraith's relentless attacks while collecting orbs to weaken your foe will provide a nightmarish and challenging battle.
- Simple controls. There's only jump, dash, and dive. You'll have to be creative with your movement if you want to defeat the Wraith.
- Procedurally generated AI. The Wraith randomly picks from a wide array of moves to demolish you, making each fight very different.
- Dark silhouette art style. Explore the many ways you can die through the pulsating darkness of the Wraith and its lair.
- Multiple Game Modes. Normal, Endless, and True Wraith game modes provide varying levels of difficulty and high replayability.

Hey everyone I know I haven't posted here in awhile. First off, I don't want to make any excuses for why there hasn't been any Roguelands updates. I want to come clean and be honest with those of you who have been so supportive of me. I have come to the realization that I have been making games wrong. It has been 3 games now that I have started and then abandoned. The thing is, when I start a game, I get obsessed with the idea and work on it everyday for hours on end. After a dev cycle of about a year, I launch the game with the intention of NEVER working on another game. I always think "This is it. This is the game I will update forever because it is going to be the best I can do." Then the game launches. Many people enjoy it, many people have valid criticisms, and many people absolutely hate it for whatever reason. I see all of these responses and think to myself wow this is not the best I can do, I need to start over with something else. This is the worst thing for a developer to do to the fans and I kept thinking to myself why do I keep running into this problem? But then it hit me. I've never had an end goal in mind when I start a project. There has never been a proper ending planned. Magicite didn't have it, Roguelands didn't have it, and my mobile game Dragonbolt Vanguard sure as hell didn't have it. This is a HUGE disservice to the players because they can invest time and money into the game but there is no defined end game payoff. I also make the mistake of "promising" things when really they are just ideas that seem cool at the time. Examples of this are expressed through my many twitter and reddit posts. There are many players who have a decent amount of hours played for all of my games, but usually they end up being confused as to how or when the games are supposed to end. I just want you guys to know that I've never had a solution planned. It took me 3 games and a whole lot of upset people to make me realize this enormous mistake. Look, I know some of you are♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥off about how I've handled things, and I can't blame you. I'm just a dude who likes to make games and this has been a really hard lesson to learn. I can't blame those of you who will never purchase/play my games again because it has been 3 times now that I've wronged you. I just want to come out and say that I can never quit making games. I get anxious if I'm away from my computer for too long or if I don't have a notepad to scratch down ideas. Ever since I launched my first (failed) mobile game back in my college dorm room I was addicted. I'm always on this quest to get better and better and it can actually be a detrimental obsession, oftentimes making me ignore other aspects of life. I want to let all of you know that I'm working on one game from now on until it is complete. It will be my FIRST EVER single-player game. It will have a story with a beginning and an ENDING. No one will play it until it has 100% content implemented, and Early Access will be strictly for catching last minute bugs. It's going to be a relaxing RPG set in a world that has already been saved, with many influences from Animal Crossing. Like I said before, I don't expect any of you to buy it or support me because of my past mistakes. But I just needed to get this off my chest and to tell you what has been going on with me as a developer and as a person. The truth is, I'm a fragile incomplete guy that only wants to make the perfect game and to hopefully make a few people happy along the way. If you give me another chance then I will prove to you how much I've grown as a developer with a complete game. If not, then I hope this post at least gives you proper insight as to the reasoning behind my actions and shortcomings, and I am truly sorry I dragged you into this mess. There are plenty of other indie devs who have their crap together and are more deserving of your time and money, so definitely go support them. Thanks for everything these past few years. Sean

Fixed Astra Pink Square Bug. Dune Dredger Winston now actually gives you portal uses to The Cathedral. Creation Machine spawns in The Cathedral, not Old Earth.

I JUST WORKED FOR 24 HOURS STRAIGHT. I've been working on Roguelands for over a year and a half. This is my biggest and best game I've ever made and it's all thanks to you guys. The constant bug reports and suggestions really go a long way and help speed up the development time on my end since I'm a solo dev. BUT HOLY COW do I have a build for you guys. First things first, only the first allegiance has a complete storyline. The others are somewhat finished but I thought you guys would appreciate it if I held em back took my time on those. They will be coming in the next builds for sure. I think the game is worthy of moving out of early access now. It has over 70 unlockables, 12 planets, over 150 weapons, over 150 helmets/armors, fully functioning multiplayer, and some really crazy challenges to keep you cadets busy. A lot of users already have 100-700 hours of playtime and we've gotten to the point where there are little to no bugs apparent(Although I'm sure you guys will break this build, so I'm leaving Development Mode on for awhile xD). It has been a long and crazy ride. I think new builds won't come out every 7 days maybe idk. I still want to go back and update Magicite due to popular demand. Whew! Added some cool changes with this build. I'm probably gonna hold off on builds until v1.0 in a few weeks besides maybe a couple of hotfixes. There is some major content coming that can't be fit into a normal 1 or 2 week build cycle. I'm gonna complete every aspect of the game that is implemented including races/augments/uniforms and brand new BOSSES and storyline stuff and END GAME THINGS. Roguelands v0.9.3 Dying now erases your poison levels. Fixed constant attacking Bug Fixed Card Description text Fixed Emblem Fates Bug Fixed Coldsnap Bug lol... Fixed Fractured Soul Bug Rings dropped from chests now have a chance to be a higher tier based on your challenge level. Boss Weapons/Armor now have a chance to be a higher tier based on your challenge level. Lava Blob burns for 30 Fire Slime burns for 10 Wyvern projectiles burn for 20 Lava Dragon burns for 40 Wisp frosts for 4 Wicked projectiles will frost for 4 Yeti snowballs will frost for 8 Implemented Burn. Roguelands v0.8.5 Hey all! Sorry for the delay. Got some really interesting stuff in this update :) Players stats stop going up after hitting Lv.100! Upon levelling up after reaching 100, players will be granted 1 "Champion Badge" which can be used for buying powerful combat chips, rare blocks, and other cool things! (Gear & Chips still provide all stat bonuses regardless of player level.) This prevents players from grinding infinite stats but doesn't put an official cap on player levels. Also, it adds a cool new currency that can only be obtained with high leveled characters! Improved HealthRegen+ Mods When your VIT goes over 100, you will recover HP over time. The higher the value, the quicker it goes. Without regen mods you can gain 1HP every 1.5 seconds with 300 VIT. Wealth Medals are now Wealth Trophies and can be bought for 9999 credits in the marketplace. The main story quest and faction quests will require you to go talk to these folks and stuff. Oh also some scary sub bosses can spawn now in some planets! If you are a user who can't click the Play button in the main menu, just follow these steps: Go to User/AppData/LocalLow/DefaultCompany/Roguelands Delete the PlayerPrefs.txt file there. I'm back in south Florida, and the Ultimate Cannons & Gauntlets are on my laptop which I left up in Orlando. Soooooo no ultimate weapons in this update but rather the start of a new biome and a really epic boss. He's WAY stronger than any other boss in the game. Hey all! I was dreading the release of the gear mod system because I had to overhaul a bunch of old systems. All weapon types can now crit, drop rates from enemies and harvesting spots scale with certain gear mods, and you can now regen hp, mana, and stamina much quicker with gear mods. Yeah gear mods pretty much affect every aspect of the game. Movement is different, exp/credits can now scale with gear mods, and projectile range is probably the most fun mod to play around with (especially turrets!). Earth lies in ruin. Our ever advancing Aether technology opened a rift to another time, unleashing an ancient beast upon the galaxy. Known as the Destroyer, this massive creature travels from world to world devouring the Aether in planet cores only to leave a dead shell in its wake.
You play as a Galactic Cadet, tasked with traveling to hostile planets in search of precious resources before The Destroyer rips through the planet core. Team up with friends, gather resources, and craft powerful gear on your home planet so you can aid the fight to save the galaxy!
Features:
- Explore Procedurally Generated Worlds: Each world is generated as you and your Combat Squad beam down. With exotic creatures, hostile monsters, and unique ores and vegetation, each planet provides a different experience and challenge that will test your skill and knowledge of survival in Roguelands.
- Unique Crafting System Gathering resources in Roguelands is unlike any other game. Instead of using a pickaxe or a hatchet to gather resources from ore deposits and trees, you command your Droids to do all of the work for you! Droids have different passive abilities and can cut down trees, mine ores, gather herbs, and even fight for you in combat. Once you've acquired 10 pieces of any loot, you can craft an Emblem. Combine any 3 Emblems at the Gear Forge to acquire a new piece of gear and expand your recipe log!
- Permanent Death, but Permanent Progress Upon death your Galactic Cadet will die: losing all weapons, armor, and loot in their inventory. But anything that you've stored back on your ship will remain persistent across ALL of your characters! After tons of character deaths you'll have permanently unlocked new Races, Variants, Augments, and Starting Uniforms that you can mix and match to create a unique play style. Also, any upgrades to your ship and saved NPCs will be permanent, so your new characters can have access to all of your hard earned resources!
- Master Every Weapon Type & Variant: Roguelands features tons of exciting weapon types that players can experiment with. By progressing further through the galaxy by slaying monsters and crafting items, players will unlock new weapon variants with unique stats and randomly generated augments. Craft the perfect piece of gear through combining and forging!
- Collect All Combat Chips: Every Galactic Cadet can equip up to five Combat Chips before beaming out to a planet. These special augments can provide not only passive buffs for you and your squad, but also active abilities such as teleportation or enabling the use of Darkfire. Through exploration of both hostile planets and neutral cities and towns, players will amass a collection of these powerful chips and enable a variety of playstyles and character archetypes.
- Unlock the Secrets Behind the Destroyer & the Scourge: The more NPCs you save, the more knowledge you'll acquire about the galaxy's chaotic and mysterious history. Where did the Destroyer come from? What is its true purpose?
