So, a while ago, I quietly set the price for this game to $0--turns out setting your game to free on Steam requires a ticket to support. I've taken care of that part now, so pretty soon new players should be able to download the game again. Other than that, I managed to snag a Steam Deck, and so I've been doing a little work to test compatibility. So far, it's looking good. Need to test with some other people though. If you try this game on Deck, hit me up and tell me how it worked! Here on community, on Twitter, wherever you can! Thanks for playing!
First update in a while, but here it is: new menus! Check the patch notes here: https://joedaywalt.games/games/convergence-compulsion/patch-notes And keep an eye out for a devlog (at the website above) about why the new look, the new URL, and all that stuff. Thanks for playing!
With version 1.7.0, the Convergence Compulsion Halloween event is over. I hope you had fun finding all the secrets and smashing pumpkins! Anything you unlocked sticks around forever, but you'll have to get the codes you missed from other players--they'll still work, but you can't find them with the "?" tokens. Thanks for playing!
Today marks the start of the Convergence Compulsion Halloween event. Get it now and unlock a cast of spooky characters and get to smashing pumpkins!
Im really happy with the splat sound I found for these.
Theres also a new music track, based on a couple of iconic Castlevania tunes. Anything you unlockplus the musicstays after the event; the codes, however, can only be found for a limited time!
I hope you have fun! And dont smash anyone elses pumpkins, alright? Thanks for playing!
Hi again! This weeks release brings mostly one big front-facing change: new music! There's couple of other smaller changes, too. Read about them at the link below. And get ready for the Halloween event with the next update! Cheers! Convergence Compulsion 1.5.0 Patch Notes
After a bit of a delay, v1.4.0 is up and ready for you! One of the big additions is the treasure box, which is a fun, new way to score points that gives you a choice: score a little bit now for a chance at more later, or take the big score now and get no more treasure for the rest of the run. The other one is the SECRETS menu, which allows you to toggle secrets youve previously unlocked without reentering the codes. Along with that, most codes are persistent between runs now. Theres a couple other changes to note, which you can read about here.
Hey! Small update this week. Just some bug fixes and new music that plays when the waves crash in vertically! Read about the rest of the changes--and an update on Mac 64-bit support here.
This week's update is a big one, but I can't tell you all the details. It's a secret! Quite a few secrets, even! There's more to come, and you can get a head-start on the hunt by joining the mailing list during start-up. Bug fix v1.3.2: fixes a crash that can happen when you interact with one of the secrets. Thanks to Kohrek for reporting this one! Full Release Notes.
The update this week is pretty small, just some cosmetic stuff--mostly with power-ups. Read all about it here.
Hey! A small, quick update to the game, 1.2.1, is up now. There was a crash that had effected a small number of players on the CONTROLS menu. No longer! If you run into any problems when you play, please, do report them using the support form on the website. Thanks for playing!
This week's patch is now available, including two main changes.
- Steam's F12 screenshot functionality now works in game. Let me see your most crowded fields!
- The look of the UI has been cleaned up--bright gradients and cleaner lines on all text and buttons.
- All of the library and store images have been updated, to match the cleaner UI look.
Just a couple of front-facing changes this week, though the background work was large. Full details here. * Redid the music and the underlying music system. * Added a global wave counter to the game's website. So yeah, boot up the game, send in those wave counts, and... let's hit a million? Thanks for playing!
As noted, the main fix here is D-pad support. You can use your controller's D-pad the same as keyboard keys now, instead of tapping rapidly--as intended. More details about the other, more minor fixes here: https://epiblitikos.games/devlog/2020/07/31/convergence-compulsion-1.0.4-patch-notes Happy Release Day! And thanks for playing!

Move quickly, or you'll get consumed by the wrong wave! But don't stray too far, or you'll never get back for that matching color! Each time you match, an obstacle appears, and after you string more matches together, you'll get power-ups!
