Hello dear adventurers! We have released a quick update to fix the startup problem that many experienced with a recent steam client update and it should be solved now! We have also taken away the beta branches since now you can make minor adjustments yourself in the options.ini file in case you are having troubles with the game and we will provide a guide on how to do that. In case you are still unable to open the game by various reasons, make sure you are not in a beta branch! To make changes in how the game starts, you can now try different methods easily in the options.ini file that lives in the game folder! How to find the options file: 1. Right click Fran Bow in your library and choose properties 2. Go to LOCAL FILES and click BROWSE LOCAL FILES 3. Find the file called "options.ini" and open it 4. Follow the intructions mentioned there! Since we had to revert to an older version of steam api, Fran Bow might "crash" when you exit the game but this won't affect anything so don't worry :)

Fran Bow is a creepy adventure game that tells the story of Fran, a young girl struggling with a mental disorder and an unfair destiny.
After witnessing the gruesome and mysterious loss of her parents, found dismembered at their home, Fran rushes into the woods, together with her only friend, Mr. Midnight, a black cat that Fran had previously received as a present from her parents.
In the forest, Fran goes into shock over the loss of her parents and when she recovers, she’s at Oswald Asylum, an oppressive mental institution for children, and Mr. Midnight is nowhere to be found.
After having a dream about her beloved cat, Fran decides to escape from the mental institution to find him and go back home to Aunt Grace, her only living relative.
