Hello everyone,

Thank you for continuing to faithfully follow SONZAI throughout development. We realize the game\'s development has been quite long, and we can\'t thank everyone enough for continuing to support us. As we come to near the end of 2025, we want to ensure everyone SONZAI is still in deep development but we are in the final sprint. We hope to have more information for everyone in early 2026, as well as news about when you will finally be able to try a demo for yourself.

In the meantime, we\'re incredibly proud to announce that we\'ve won Tencent\'s Games Without Borders Bronze Award for Small Teams. We are very happy to accept this award next to lots of other innovative titles such as Blue Prince, Karma The Dark World, Tiny Bookshop, and more.

We know it has been awhile since our last update, but we are happy to say the game is still progressing and is in a solid state of development right now. With a game as expansive and content deep as this, and between such a small team, it's inevitable that things will take awhile. Right now the team has primarily been finishing content while QA is being done - quite a lengthy process.

We're happy to announce that not only did we participate in this year's Guerrilla Collective showcase, but we got a spotlight showing by way of our publisher, Top Hat Studios! As part of their official showcase slot, we've debuted a brand new trailer. Since the Steam page went live and the game was revealed, the game has grown tremendously and received a massive overhaul from a quality perspective. They say greatness takes time, and the team has been extremely dedicated to crafting a truly one-of-a-kind experience.


You can view the full, newly revealed trailer above. SONZAI aims to be an extremely high quality, meticulously crafted experience, and we hope the new trailer reflects that. The team has taken a very perfectionist angle on development, and while we realize development has been taking quite a long time (and from the outside may seem nebulous), we can assure you the game has made great strides toward completion. We've also updated the Steam page to reflect more recent updates to the game's recent state, and the new trailer has been uploaded onto it also.

All in all, we thank you all for keeping up with the title, and we're excited to share more in the near future. Hey all! It's been a little while since the page was updated for SONZAI, and part of that's been because the game has been a deep work-in-progress. Good things take time to come together, and we've been concentrating on putting together a great experience for everyone to play. However, we get it's been a bit overdue for an overhaul and that you've probably been itching to see more of the game, so we're excited to roll out a complete overhaul of the Steam page for the game!


Complete with new, updated screenshots that show more variety, areas, and things/mechanics in the game, the main "about" description has been updated, too. In addition to that, a selection of stylish GIFs have been added to the main about section also. The game looks awesome in motion, doesn't it? The art style of the game is truly spectacular, having been completely hand drawn and frame animated, and now that there's plenty of moving, animated media in the about section, it should help you to understand more about the game in action.



And one last thing for this update - we're pleased to announce that a new trailer for SONZAI, showcasing never-seen-before content with new reveals for the game, will be featuring in our publisher's showcase at the Guerrilla Collective this year! The Top Hat Studios Showcase will be happening on June 6th at the Guerrilla Collective livestream, starting at 12pm US pacific time. See you there!

Hello everyone!

We are happy to announce a major milestone in Sonzai's development! As an official exhibitor of Tokyo Game Show this year, we've prepared a special demo to collect feedback for the game as well as show off current progress.


A demo is now available to install, just click the big green "install" button on the first page. This is no ordinary demo though, the demo contains quite a lot of content - you can easily get hours out of it between combat, social link exploration, and more! This is a testament to just how fantastic the final product will be. However, your participation is vital! We want to know what you like, what you don't like, and anything else.


As such, we have a discord prepared, which you can join by clicking the button below! The #sonzai channel will be the main home to the game and this demo.
