Update 1.5 - UI Enhancements & Shorter Turns & Game Improvements


  • Many reviews of the game stated that the UI could be improved, so this update tries to fix it's issues as well as other additions that felt necessary!
  • Pass Turn wait time should be significantly shorter now, especially in late game!
  • Tech Progression window has been significantly improved!

  • Properties now have unique sounds to them when selected.
  • select agent from "all agents" will now allow you to sort by skill!
  • "Escape" should now hide the UI before leaving the map view
  • You are now able to control the "Ambience" volume (Rain / Wind / Etc...)
  • Property with an upgrade in progress will now have a unique icon to it.
  • Property with something in it's inventory will now have a unique icon to it.
  • Circular agent / task selection has been improved!
  • Customize Character will no longer hide "Opinion"
  • Prevent any sound from being spammed more than 3 times together.
  • "All Characters" window has been improved in terms of functionality and performance
  • Properties that get destroyed will no longer lose their ownership!
  • Employees will no longer whisper you about rumors that you plan to betray yourself (and other related events)

Update 1.3

We have recently returned focus back to Waiting For The Raven. A sandbox scenario has been requested since the game's Early Access days, it has now come!
You may unlock this chapter by completing one of the Oracles very early missions - "Research Business". We may improve upon this sandbox, using your suggestions and adding more mechanics / tension / survival / strategic options / paths. The game now allows you to customize any character: (Only available in the sandbox chapter)
and any faction:

To do so, press on the newly added Quill & Ink button in the Character / Faction - Info Windows:

We have implemented a new compression method to our build process, significantly decreasing its size on disk!
We have also updated the version of the engine this game runs on. Note 1: We do acknowledge an update that fixes recently reported bugs surely must come, and as soon as possible. Note 2: New bugs / glitches / issues may appear after the recent implementation, we may only ask you to please be patient with us since our development resource is somewhat small.

Changes

  • Fixed SSOF Expedition dialogues so the player will never be stuck due to lack of resources or any other reason
  • Recruiting agent quest will now tick the objective if the player had already recruited one employee
  • The options menu will no longer look blurry
  • Added an option to toggle fullscreen / windowed.
  • Quest information could be viewed in full screen by pressing the ? button next to the quest description
  • Information about Ceasars Cypher in the book has been corrected.

  • The strange artefact can be removed from the room via interaction, it will stop the continuous corruption

  • Brightness will not reset after game reload
  • Tutorial Toggle will not reset after game reload
  • Fixed a bug with the final duels dialogue, which had resulted in no dialogue option

    More updates may come in the future! (not in a form of costly DLCs, don't worry.) This game has a whole lot more to explore and hasn't yet depleted it's potential! For all of the faithful players who played the early version of the game, reported bugs, suggested ideas and helped with the improvement of the game's experience & overall quality, thank you! This game owes many of it's qualities to you. I must thank you personally aswell for your enthusiasm, time investment and interest in this creation, I am a lone developer and the motivation your feedback had brought to me was the thing that kept me going through this very long process. While this may not be the best game out there, I believe the unique concepts and ideas it contains may at least provide the strategy genre with new and untried gaming experiences.

  • Some specific screen ratios default resolution may cause issues with the UI. (Can be fixed by changing to any of the available resolutions)
  • Issue with the first line at hierarchy trees. (Requires refactoring the tree system)
  • Sporadic: Post manor upgrade - agents are not selectable / disappear after loading the game / wont appear on plots.
  • Sporadic: Random Employee in constabulary can be a 9 years old child.
  • Sporadic: Altering settings crash for some people
  • Sporadic: Loading the game while in the game may cause inability to progress trough turns
  • Sporadic: Puzzle may not appear as resolved up until the moment its refreshed.
  • Sporadic: Owners shift after loading a game?

    Plans for the next version


  • A lot of events for the constabulary, so they may not only rely on their passive resource flow, this should have been implemented in this version but was
  • A lot of focus on more stuff to do in the different rooms, more paranoia / atmosphere / story / hidden things / plot related content / etc.
  • More property events, for later game properties in particular.
  • Letters series that tell parts of a story, which may be collected randomly by scouting specific locations (Wilderness?)
