I, Leocesar3D, the developer of Human Diaspora, made an important decision regarding the game's pricing structure, and I would like to share the details with the game community. I am thrilled to announce that Human Diaspora will now be available as a free game on the Steam platform and I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to all of you who supported me by purchasing the game on release, almost three years ago. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you who believed in the game and supported me by purchasing it. After careful consideration, I have decided to transition the game to a free-to-play model. I believe that by removing the price barrier, the game can reach an even wider audience and allow more players to explore it. I hope that this decision to make Human Diaspora free will be met with excitement and enthusiasm. I am excited to welcome new players into the community. Thank you once again for your support. I could not have come this far without you. Sincerely, Leocesar3D The developer of Human Diaspora
Changes for this update: 1) Head bobbing, camera shake and bullet time disabled by default but can be enabled in the settings menu. It will give more control over the aiming; 2) Reduced gun bullet spread by half, it gives the bullets a more predictable out trajectory; 3) Added more music tracks. They are listed in the credits. 4) Minor tweaks and bug fixing.
This update makes the player character (Player Controller) more agile: - increased gravity feel; - higher jump; - the player has more control over the movement. Fixes: Player controller: there is little to no acceleration or deceleration of player movement; Bullet time: time slowdown does not affect the mouse-look; Joypad: removed a little bug that affected the player's weapon sway; Thanks for player feedback that pinpointed some issues. See you next time!
Exactly twenty months from the Early Access release, I present you version 1.0 of Human Diaspora. I am thrilled about the current form the game took shape. I thank all players that gave me constructive feedback during this period. So, what the future holds? Ill still support the game lifetime with bug fixes and new content. The game uses Godot engine and Ill probably port it to version 4.0 of the tool when it arrives, because it has some visual and performance improvements that I am interested and would benefit the game. Thats it for now. Thank you and see you next time!
Hi, it has been a while. Hope you are well. By the end of last year, I released the Open World Update with high hopes of delivering a bigger world and opportunities for story and other mechanics. But, well, I am just myself in the HD team, a salary-man with a family to support, getting older and with less free time than before. Whatever, it probably means nothing to you, but HD development is always in my mind. So, to deliver a complete game by the end of this year, I reevaluated its scope and made it linear now, with the story presented in text form on the loading screen of each level, so if you are only interested in the action, as soon as the level loads you can skip it all together. And to my surprise, it made the game feel better, at least for me. Now I pass the ball to you and I plead you early buyer to take one more look at it and leave a comment on the game community forum. Immediate plan: complete the remaining levels. Mostly the space levels. And wrap the story. Post release and the end of Early Access: I committed to deliver version 1.0 by the beginning of September 2022. And it will be this way. It doesnt mean the development is over, there will be bug fixing, probably additional levels and guns, and an open spreadsheet for localization, because I cant pay for professional translators. Id love to have my game translated to all languages, so it is up to the community to let it happen. But Ill surely translate it to Brazilian Portuguese myself, because it is my native language. In summary of this update: The game is now linear: Intro Level one Cutscene/loading screen Next level, and so forth. Rehash of old levels and addition of new ones, can you tell? See you on the community board. Cheers!
Finally, Human Diaspora is becoming what I dreamed of! The first level for the Open World game mode is live! You can explore any place of the map you desire. Find and switch vehicles. Locate scattered weapons. Fight or run from danger of various sizes. This is just the beginning. I am now focusing on creating the Open World space level. Where you can get into fierce fights, explore derelict structures and learn what is going on in this violent environment. See you soon!

A more appealing User Interface theme and it adapts better to different aspect ratios. 3. Shadows are disabled by default: increases performance, but you can toggle it on if desired. 4. Limited shadow distance: increases performance. Bug fixes: 1. Progress bar: displays the correct percentage. 2. Grass and decals materials: rendered in the correct order. 3. Menus load faster now. More to come, see you soon!
Hello everybody! This update focused on adding Settings options and the requested Keybindings menu. Changes: 1. Settings: Look Sensitivity 2. Settings: Invert Camera Y Axis 3. Content: desert snake added to the Drylands Some small bug fixes in menus and in some game entities. Now I believe I can finally return to content creation: new areas, enemies and guns. See you soon! Hi everyone! Time again for another small update. Small, yes! But it brings better game performance all around. I heard some complaints about game freezing for short periods of time, or substantial frame rate drops to the point of making the game experience just plain bad. Now I found some code culprits and made them take the long walk towards oblivion. I tested it out for over a week and I say that the game run smoother on all levels. But here and there, there are some small frame rate drops but nothing serious. It occurs mostly when there is a lot going on, like several enemies fighting at the same time. Took the time also to tweak some game settings and behaviors for the dynamic objects in all the game. Well, now is finally time to get back to create more levels, enemies, or even new game mechanics. My goal is to make Human Diaspora a game that has a whole lot of non-stop action. See you soon!
Hi Folks! This is a quality of life minor update that fixes some issues encountered by you and reported to me through the Steam platform. Changes: 1. Added a Level Selector: for those that didnt like the strategy mode, you can skip it all together, and play whatever level you liked the most. Bear in mind that there is no game progression in this mode. You play the level, beat it or not, but it has no effect on the game as a whole. Not just that. When I add new levels you can play it first hand without fuss. 2. Minor adjustments in enemy damage, Sound FX volume and game settings. Fixed Bugs: 1. Now you can use both the controller and keyboard/mouse, no more locked cursor. You can connect, at any time, the controller and the game should recognize it immediately. See you soon. Leocesar3D
Hello everybody! It is time for the second regular update for Human Diaspora. This update brings new content and overall bug fixes. You may need to play a new game to see the changes. Please dont forget to share with me your good or bad experience with the game! Only this way I can improve it over time. Changes: 1. I added two vehicles: space fighter and tank. 2. New level: Deep Space Pirates. Take control of a space fighter, prepare for fierce dogfights! 3. New level: Drylands. Control a mounted turret tank in the arid lands of the Planet. 4. New level: Floating Arena. This level is very hard and requires a lot of practice to beat it. 5. Updated the Seabed underwater base with more visual/audio details. 6. New enemies: tank and space fighter Fixed Bugs: 1. Soundtrack abruptly starting on game launch. Known issues: 1. My controller doesnt work, the cursor is locked on the screen: turn on the controller and restart the game. It should be recognized. 2. Random missing texture: this is a Game Engine problem and I didnt find a solution yet. 3. Game freezes momentarily/hiccups: mostly the game loading level sections. It goes away while playing. See you soon in the next update! Current game version: 2020.09.G
Hi everyone! This is the first regular update I made for Human Diaspora, it fixes some important issues with the release build, so test it out. Tell me if you experienced something that you didnt like about the game. Its through your feedback that Ill be able to create a better gaming experience for everyone. Thank you to support me in my game dev journey! Changes: 1. Settings/Controls menu: Added video, difficulty and audio adjustments, now you can adjust the game for better performance, easier/harder challenge and tone down or disable music/sound effects completely. Be aware that changing some settings may affect performance reducing the FPS rate. This change overrides the old settings file, so go to the settings menu to save your new values. It may not affect game progress. 2. Added an underwater base in Methane sea: where the explosive device may spawn inside, but I will upgrade it in future updates. 3. Minor visual tweaks. Bugs: 1. Bombardment rules and button now function as expected. 2. Death bug removed: the player dies no more after winning a battle in FPS mode. 3. Resources didnt update correctly to both player and computer, leading to wrong values. 4. Player footsteps Sound Effect continued playing after a full stop.
