Hello, everybody! After months of relative silence on our end, our team has decided to disclose some information on what we are planning and what has been happening since we last updated. During this silence, we voted internally on whether to scrap the game and restart it anew or to continue working on what we had. We decided ultimately to continue with the current game. We are working towards an overhaul to the HUD, 173 movement issues, reworking the other dimensions, changing the intro, touching up on old code, a lighting system rework, actual lore, and much more! Visit our roadmap page if you are more curious about our progress. The roadmap is updated frequently, so check in whenever you can! Updates to the game will be slow, but we promise they will come. If you want to help progress development, job listings are still open on our Discord server! We would be very grateful to get volunteers for our game. Modelers, designers, artists, and more coders would be welcome onto our team. If you don't want to help directly but still want to assist, we encourage you to suggest features or bug fixes on our server. If you are interested in helping out, or just want to chat. Welcome to Version 0.4.4-alpha, featuring a few new minor features and another slew of bug fixes!

Bug Fixes
- Fixed the opening to the void in the LCZ control room.

Changelog
Features
- Added server config to enable debug logs from the game.
- Added real-time controllable banner to the main menu.
- Closet room door is locked until the cutscene ends- which means SCP-173 can't open the door until the lights are back on. You're welcome.
- A new system is being used for SCP-106 exits, which means 106's exits will now lead into ANY LCZ/HCZ room (non-keycard only), as opposed to a few select hallways.
- Better authentication logs for servers when players join.
- Removed the ChatFilterBlockedWords server config. It can be easily re-implemented with plugins.
Bug Fixes
- Fix checkpoints sometimes not having text above their doors.
- Fix NPCs not spawning if certain rooms were not provided. Now SCP-049, SCP-106, and SCP-173 will spawn independently of their respective rooms (although SCP-049 will not spawn by default until the security room cutscene is activated). SCP-008, SCP-096, SCP-939, and SCP-966 still rely on their rooms in order to be spawned.
- Fix mouse staying locked if a popup opened while in-game.

- Add PlayerAuthEvent.Reject()
- Rename Player.SendPlayerChatMessage() to Player.SendChatMessage()
- SCP173 now has the ISCP interface (..why didn't it?)
Changes & Bug Fixes

After months of radio silence and beta testing, Version 0.4.0-alpha is now live! We are excited to share all of the new features and bug fixes that come along with this update.
Major Features
SCP-096
After the long wait, SCP-096 has been implemented into the main game! Be careful when exploring heavy containment now, as a not-so welcome face may appear and surprise you. Make sure not to look into his face, as thatll be the last thing youll ever see! SCP-096 can...
- Open non-keycard doors while docile, and open every door while enraged, including locked checkpoints and gates (doors opened by an enraged SCP-096 will close 1 second after they are opened). SCP-096 can also open the doors of elevators that are "moving".
- Chase its target through the entire map, including from the Light Containment Zone to the Entrance Zone.
- Use elevators to reach its target, including LCZ sub-level elevators, and the SCP-939 elevators.
SCP-330
Sweet with a bitter surprise when you take more than two! The candy bowl has been implemented, and the candies can have various effects when consumed. Increase sprint length, double your maximum health, and more. So many possibilities!
SCP-173 Rewrite
This rewrite was a lot of fun... We've heard numerous reports of SCP-173 moving while being observed, ignoring targets, and a handful of other issues that have all now been fixed. Additionally, SCP-173 now moves around the facility by himself (which was an intended feature all the way back in 0.1.1-alpha... wow). On the bright side, he'll be much more of a hassle throughout the game now. Have fun!
Steam Achievements
We have added the ability to gain Steam achievements during your play. Keep track of how many you unlock in a new area in the main menu. These are disabled on custom maps and for users who use cheat commands, so dont think you can obtain them that easily. ;)
Night Vision Goggles
We have re-implemented the Night Vision Goggles, as well as its red and blue variants! The Night Vision goggles can be (currently) found in the SCP-939 storage rooms, and SCP-966's room. However, they can also be spawned in through the admin panel. The Night Vision goggles allow its wearer to see better, further, and see SCP-966 (which will also be receiving a rewrite, coming soon). The Night Vision goggles require a battery, however the red variant does not. The blue variant currently does not have any differences from the standard night vision goggles (this will change soon).
Joining Lobbies
You asked, and we listened! It is now easier than ever to join friends and other players. We have introduced a "Join Public Lobby" tab which can be used to join a public Relay lobby. This menu also shows friends-only servers that you have access to. We have also improved the functionality of the "Join Friends" page.
New Backend API
We have introduced a new Web API that has been in development for a few months. All API-related systems have been rewritten, including the server list, authentication, and the relay servers. Although this is mostly an internal change, this feature also introduces more error codes so that issues can be more easily diagnosed. Additionally, our site has been reworked, and now contains an accurate bug & feature tracker, a much better system for reporting bugs, and real-time server updates! Check it out.
Admin Panel - Player Info
There is a new page to view a certain player's information. This includes Steam information (such as Steam name, ID, and profile picture), as well as in-game information (such as zone, health, and certain flags). Requires "admin.playerinfo" permission.
Minor Features
- All server configs have been updated to start with an uppercase character. This may break server configs.
- Added stats to the end-game screen.
- Fixed room overlapping, as well as rooms that lead to nothing.
- Items teleport along with the elevators now.
- We have gotten rid of room sign pointers for the time being as they were causing server crashes.
- Removed void doors. Void doors were prop doors that were unopenable, and had an infinite space of void behind them. However, SCP-096 could still open these doors, which caused him to fall endlessly into the void upon entering them.
- When starting the game for the first time, you will get a new UI telling you to select your language, and presenting the game's warning text.
- Sprint and blink bar will now change color when influenced (eg. certain SCP-294 drinks such as coffee, blue/purple candy, etc).
- Replaced the keyboard props with a more detailed one.
- Added and edited a few loading screen tips.
- News on the main menu now pulls straight from steam when new announcements are made.

- Inventory and documents can no longer be opened at the same time.
- Usernames in the spectator chat menu will now be colored to match their badges.
- Added a waypoint admin menu page that allows server staff to teleport to certain parts of the facility.
- Added a Level 2 keycard spawn in SCP-914's room, Mastercard spawn in SCP-372's room, and modified the spawns in the HCZ elevator shaft and SCP-939's room.

- Map editor will now show kill triggers - invisible boxes that kill players on touch. These areas are marked with red squares.

Changelog
Major Features
V0.2.3-alpha brings quite a few major features (some of which have been in development for months), and are now ready to release!
New Main Menu
Our new main menu has been in development for a few months now, and it is now live for all! The new menu features an improved serverlist, improved credits, and is more organized. There are less buttons presented immediately, however there is the same amount of content as before. Additionally, we have introduced a join friend feature, allowing players to join their Steam friend(s) directly through the game!
New Admin Menu
We have completely revamped the admin menu to provide more features that have been requested! We have added the ability to view and copy map seeds directly from the menu, a better system for moderation (including being able to provide a reason and duration), and a better textbased admin command system. The panel will only show what you have permission to access - no redundancy! Did we mention that you can now select multiple players to run a command on? Whoa!
Plugin System Rework
The update that most of the plugin development portion of ET has been waiting for - the plugin system has been reworked! The system functions better, and has numerous events for identifying when certain things in the game happen. The new plugin system is still in-dev, and expect more features with it soon! Voice Chat Rework
The game's Voice Chat has been reprogrammed, allowing for much easier communication with less glitches and lag.
SCP Changes
V0.2.3-alpha introduces quite a few additions and removals to non-living SCPs.
SCP-008
SCP-008's room has been added! In order to enter entrance zone, players will now need to close SCP-008 and prevent the spread of the disease. Until SCP-008 is contained, the entrance zone checkpoint is locked.
SCP-049
SCP-049 has been completely rewritten! SCP-049 will now spawn as soon as the Light Containment Zone lockdown is deactivated, and will pursue ANY player that he sees or hears. As he is vision AND sound based, stealthily moving while he is nearby is key to not getting spotted.
SCP-178
We have introduced SCP-178 (the 3D glasses). SCP-178 causes several instances of SCP-178-1 to appear while wearing the glasses, and attack the player if disturbed (including if the glasses are taken off). However, wearing the glasses will reveal the location of nearby items and players through walls. The glasses will replace SCP-1025.
SCP-1025
SCP-1025 (the encyclopedia of common diseases) will no longer spawn by default (SCP-178 has taken its position). This SCP can only be spawned with admin commands. It may return in the future with new and improved code, but for now SCP-178 has taken its position.
SCP-1123 - GONE
We have removed SCP-1123 (the skull). While SCP-1123 is a well known SCP, it is difficult to maintain internally, and it served no purpose in-game. Its room still exists, and the level 2 keycard can be retrieved from its room, but SCP-1123 itself no longer spawns.
Minor Features
- Added a safezone to the SCP-173 starting room, preventing SCP-173 from entering the room when the round starts. Exiting and re-entering a safezone does not guarantee protection, however.
- Added a safezone to the SCP-939 storage rooms, preventing SCP-106 from targeting players who are in the storage area. If you are already being pursued by SCP-106, he will continue to pursue you even if you go into the SCP-939 storage rooms.
- Large improvements to map generation should lead to much less map collisions than before.
- Discord statuses will now show elapsed time on the main menu and in-game, and will show a unique image for certain rooms (eg. the 173 starting room). Hovering over the SCP:ET logo will now show the version the user is playing on.
- Added invisible walls to the SCP-106 containment chamber railing. No more jumping to the bottom of its containment and retrieving a free level 5 keycard.
- Added new inventory icons for the Flashlight, P90, and SCP-860.
- Added content warning while the game is loading.
- Broadcasts can only be displayed for up to 1 minute, instead of an infinite amount of time.
- Changed level 4 keycard inside of SCP-966's room into a level 3.
- Added signs in various rooms across the facility that point to other rooms.
- Camera shaking effect has been applied to elevators and certain ambients.
- Adding a "Press [KEYBIND] to spectate" hint that displays upon death.
- The Light Containment Zone Clean Room now operates as T-way room, and the control room can be entered with a keycard. The Clean Room can also be enabled and disabled.
- The Light Containment Zone airlocks have been re-implemented, and now force users to wait inside the airlock for a short period of time.
- Added labels in certain rooms that point to other rooms.
- Added a warning popup when the graphics settings are set too high than recommended.
- Added pickup animations to certain items.
- Added viewable in-game server info.
- Gas has been reworked, and is more visually realistic.
Commands & Server Updates
- Added server tags, which will allow server hosts to add tags to their server which users can search for.
- Re-added join and leave logs to the server console, and added player IP to both.
- Fixed the server console "broadcast" and "reload" commands.
- Removed the SCP-173 configuration - they caused issues with his new AI.
- Added "showsettings [group]" command to reveal certain server settings. This command can only be run by the host.
- Added "kick [steamId]" and "ban [steamId] [length (minutes)] [reason]" server console commands.
- Added "uptime" server console command to display the server's uptime.
- Fixed a bug which allowed using the "respawn" chat command while alive.
- NoTarget is now properly reset on spawn.
- Hints now have a character limit of 200. Broadcasts have an unlimited limit, however they have a max display timer of 60 seconds, and multiple broadcasts with the same message cannot be added.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the keycard button on the inside of SCP-106's containment chamber being inside the wall.
- Gas in the LCZ lockrooms will now stop dispensing when the door is opened, instead of simply disappearing.
- SCP-106's idling timer will no longer decrease before the round has started.
- Fixed percentages being displayed incorrectly on powered items (eg. "SNav (00%)").
- Fixed a bug which caused SCP-049 to get stuck in a certain office room in LCZ.
- Fixed multiple networking bugs related to SCP-294 (eg. the machine not dispensing a drink for certain players).
- Fixed an out of bounds bug that used dead bodies to reach places.
- Fixed a bug regarding the inventory UI remaining open when changing classes.
- Fixed SCP-012's door button colliding with the SCP sign.
- Fixed a bug which involved items de-spawning when a user is killed by SCP-049 (this was an oversight, as users who are killed by SCP-049 do not spawn a body).
- Players' dimension is now set to the facility on spawn. This fixes a bug which involved SCP-106 immunity.
We have released an update to the public beta (Version 0.2.2-alpha), which fixes more bugs and adds more minor features.
Updates
* Smoke particle rework * SCP-049 will now play one of three random curing sounds upon playing, and will play a random dialog line every 30 seconds he is chasing a player. * Clean Room now has a 2 second enable/disable cooldown. * Added Plugin.FolderPath property. * Added Map.GetAllWaypoints() to return all waypoints. * Added heavy door to surface
Bug Fixes
* Fixed improper navigation for the LCZ office room * Fix the Pocket Dimension "plane" forcing players who are not in the trench to look at it. * Added proper caption for the "SaveMeFrom" ambient change. * Fix in-game server info tags not properly displaying.
We have released an update to the live public beta, titled Version 0.2.1-alpha. This update is a minor update, and releases multiple fixes to bugs that were discovered during the initial beta release.
Changelog
Updates
- Re-implemented airlocks, with a wait period inside the airlock.
- Added SCP-049 control room and containment room ambients.
- Added PluginType to plugins.
- Enabled DoorInteract event.
- Added additional door to the LCZ control room
Bug Fixes
- Fixed SCP-966 room.
- Fixed a bug in which players in the plugin API could be null.
- Fixed SCP-008 lid being difficult to close.
- Items will now drop from users who die to SCP-049 (fixed items simply disappearing because 049 death doesn't spawn a body).
- Pastebin server info in-game actually works now.
- Dimension is now set to facility on spawn (fixes immunity to SCP-106 and other issues).
We have released a live beta for Version 0.2.0-alpha. This beta is available for all users, and can be accessed by enabling the "beta" beta under the game's properties. The live beta releases multiple new features and bug fixes, including a reworked SCP-049, SCP-178, as well as a new main menu, new admin menu, and much more!
Full Changelog
Major Features
The new plugin system is still in-dev, and expect more features and detailed documentation with it soon!
Voice Chat Rework
The game's Voice Chat has been reprogrammed, allowing for much easier communication with less glitches and lag.

V0.1.1-alpha brings bug fixes & minor features. This is not a large release, and we are working on more features that we're excited to talk more about soon!
Changelog
Features & Improvements
- SCP-173 has been reworked, and will now wander instead of teleporting. While wandering, he can open any unlocked door, use elevators, and move across the map quickly. When pursuing player(s), he can only open non-keycard doors (and opens them much slower), and cannot use elevators. He will still teleport into certain rooms (eg. LCZ testing chamber & HCZ 173 hall).
- Replaced all of the game's icons with a new icon that looks better.
- Added unverified warning upon joining servers that aren't verified.
- Updated texture download UI to fit the same theme as the rest of the UI.
- The closet door no longer forces open after the scientist and janitor are killed (this was unfair with 173 spawning there).
Commands & Logs
- Added info command to the server console, which reveals the amount of players on the server, and whether or not the server is updated.
- Added broadcast command to the server console.
- Added offlineban command to the admin panel.
- Chat logs now include the user's Steam ID.
- Added additional log when a user is banned.
Bug Fixes
- Removed the HDRP setting on the main menu (HDRP was removed last update, this setting didn't do anything).
- Fixed items not dropping from bodies if body info is disabled.
- Fixed SCP-106 attacking players before the game has started.
- Added ambient triggers to each room, which should fix the bug related to lingering ambient from the wrong zone (eg. restarting the game with pocket dimension ambient still playing).
- Fixed IP banning not functioning properly (IPs were an empty message).
- SCP-106 can now pass through clean room and lock room doors.

V0.2.1.7 was a big release, and came with multiple bugs that V0.1.0-alpha has fixed. Additionally, V0.1.0 adds and removes features that were requested, and reworks features that were causing issues in V0.2.1.7. Changelog below.
Changelog
Major Features
- Rewritten backend networking library. This is what caused previous issues, such as infinite loading, forced blinking, etc.
- Rewritten backend culling. This is what caused the bug where players were unable to see anything at the start of the game, as well as rooms such as SCP-939's room disappearing upon entry.
- Removed HDRP. We are focusing on improving the lighting using an alternative that will allow lower-end PCs to also play, without setting up two entirely different lighting systems. More news on this soon.
- Introduced a new font (Open Sans) that will be replacing the old text in most locations. This font has support for characters in other languages, allowing easier translating.
- Introduced a new body inspection system, which allows to pick up items and view death causes from a new UI.
- Added viewmodels for holding items.
Minor Features
- Alphabetizing language list
- Death chat message has been turned into a config, allowing servers to easily turn it off.
- Introduced death bass vibration sound effect, which will be played when someone dies. Can be enabled or disabled in configs.
- Introduced various keycard spawns across the map.
- Dead bodies will now teleport with elevators.
- Added a new LCZ office room that will correspond with lore later on.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed some issues involving SCP-294's networking code.
- Can no longer sprint in the Pocket Dimension (previously sprinting was possible, even though the sprint meter displayed empty).
- Fixing the configs for the intro timer being ignored, and the timer not working. Additionally, the timer config now defaults to 60 instead of 20.
We have released Version 0.2.1.7-rev3, which fixes a minor bug and adds some balance changes: Bug Fixes Fixed a graphical bug which caused some players to have a black screen when joining a lobby. Minor Balance changes Lockroom gas will now deal damage when the Lockroom is closed to prevent players from getting stuck. Added some extra keycard spawns.

We have released Version 0.2.1.7-rev2, which fixes a few minor gameplay bugs, shown below. Overlapping rooms in the maintenance tunnels should no longer exist. Please note this does not fix all mapgen issues. Spectator lines now show in HDRP. SCP-106 no longer tries to kill players in the waiting lobby. Fixed some network messages not being processed on clients (mainly hints and broadcasts). Thanks to all of you who have been here with us while we have been fine-tuning Version 0.2.1.7. As soon as Version 0.2.1.7 bugs are fixed, we will be looking toward the next major update. Stay tuned!
We released V0.2.1.7 a few days ago, which has allowed you all some time to play V0.2.1.7. We are now looking for your feedback for this update, including major and minor features. Please spend a few minutes to give us honest (and anonymous) feedback, so we can improve the game. Thank you!

V0.2.1.7-rev1 fixes a few bugs, including
- The LCZ lockdown monitors not resetting on round restart.
- A server crash caused by flipping the LCZ lockdown lever.
Introduction
After months of development, we are proud to announce that V0.2.1.7 is now available for all users. We all have put numerous hours into this update to ensure it brings some heavily requested content, fixes numerous bugs, and optimizes the game overall.
Major Features
SCP-049
A heavily requested SCP by many people in our community, SCP-049 (Plague Doctor) is now present in-game. SCP-049 will spawn at the start of the game, and can be encountered after exiting the starting room. However, SCP-049 will not immediately mark players as targets. Instead, it will only pursue players it deems infected. Infected criteria includes (but is not limited to): Picking up SCP-714, turning down LCZ checkpoint lockdown, etc. Once deemed infected, the player will be targeted until they die or escape. SCP-049 is slower than players, making it very easy to outmaneuver it. SCP-049 is able to use elevators, and can open any door in the facility with the help of SCP-079 (with the exception of containment doors and locked doors).
Pocket Dimension Expansion
We have expanded upon SCP-106's Pocket Dimension. The Pocket Dimension now includes multiple rooms from SCP: Containment Breach, including the throne room, coffin room, and everyone's favorite: the trenches. Check it out and see if you can escape successfully!
SCP-294
Another heavily requested SCP, SCP-294 (The Coffee Machine) is also present in game now. SCP-294 is a stationary SCP located in the Entrance Zone Cafeteria. SCP-294, in lore, can dispense any substance that can be in the liquid state of matter. SCP-294 in-game serves the same purpose, and over many updates we will be adding more drinks. It costs $0.50 (USD) per drink dispensed. This requirement can be fulfilled by two quarters (NEW ITEM), a swipe of a Mastercard, or a combination of both.
SCP-294 Configuration
For server owners: Server owners can enable and disable SCP-294 entirely. Server owners can also enable and disable multiple drinks by adding/removing certain drink flags (eg. disabling all drinks that cause the player to bleed). Drinks can also be disabled by name specifically.
SCP-294 Disclaimer
For the first release of SCP-294, the game will be recording what drinks are entered into SCP-294 and sent to the development team. The game will ONLY send the input, and whether it was dispensed, out of range, or disabled by the server owner. We will NOT be sending steam ids, usernames, or any identifiable information, and the log will only be shown to SCP:ET developers. We are doing this solely to see trends in SCP-294 inputs, specifically to see which drinks we should focus on adding varying effects to.
SCP-966
We have added SCP-966 (Sleep Killers). SCP-966s entities are invisible, slow enemies that deal minor damage on impact.
HDRP
Our team has spent a lot of time on the introduction of HDRP (short for High Definition Rendering Pipeline). HDRP is a work-in-progress lighting and graphics overhaul, that gives the game a complete different feel. HDRP is disabled by default, and can be enabled in the main menu settings page. Keep in mind that although HDRP will greatly enhance gameplay experience, it will put a strain on GPU usage for lower-end devices, and as such we recommend that only users with higher-end PCs enable this feature.
Saving & Loading
Saving & Loading is now possible on non-dedicated servers! Playing with friends, but you have to leave for a while? No worries! Simply save the game and come back to it later. Easy as that! Saving and loading is not possible on dedicated servers.
Intro Scene
Last but definitely not least on our major features list, we have added a more proper intro to the game. The intro involves a guard walking the player from their cell to the SCP-173 containment chamber. Players are invisible to each other during this scene, and upon the completion of the scene, players are sent to a waiting room for the remaining players to finish the intro. The intro can be skipped on relay and LAN hosted games.
Minor Features
- Added art shown in multiple rooms across the facility, art can be submitted by users and added/removed by devs without updating the game.
- Added scrolling credits to the home screen.
- SCP-106 Containment Chamber lights flicker after recontainment for a brief period of time, shield doors close during recontainment (the logo on the monitors also spin upon recontainment).
- Random Door Opening: Doors will open randomly at the start of the game to simulate doors left open during a breach. Chance of a door being open on spawn can be configured.
- Body Identification: Bodies can be interacted with to view the player's name and cause of death. Can be toggled in server config.
- Outdated box: Automatically determines if the game is outdated, and if so inform the player that their game needs to be updated.
- Added dead scientist & janitor bodies to the closet room that can be inspected.
- Added a death animation to the guard at the start of the game.
- Removed the unused large screen in the SCP-939 elevator hallway.
- Added a microphone icon at the bottom of screen that appears while the speak button is held down.
- Replaced the main menu music with new music. The old main menu music is now used in the credits.
- Class-D now spawn with an SCP-173 paper by default.
- Playerlist profile buttons no longer display for users with a visible global tag.
- Improved the appearance of the SCP-173 and SCP-106 containment monitors.
- Changed the lighting in SCP-173's containment box to be more realistic.
- Added battery support to items that need them.
- Added locked door to SCP-1123's containment chamber, to encourage players not to use it until it is rewritten.
- Added lots of missing HCZ and EZ rooms.
Command Changes
- Added "openalldoors" command to open every door on the map, with the exception of elevator doors, clean room doors, and locked checkpoints.
- Removed "play" and "stop" chat commands (these commands were related to video monitors, which have been removed from the game).
- Added "173" to the "contain" command, which will prevent 173 from spawning, close his door, and place a fake 173 in the chamber.
- Added "speed [n]" command to increase player's overall speed multiplier by n (1 = normal, 0.5 = half, 2 = double).
Bug Fixes & Improvements
- Fixed some map generation collision issues
- Optimization
- Improved voice chat functionality
- Fixed a bug where a medkit on Fine in 914 would be destroyed, instead of turning into a Small Medkit.
- Fixed a bug where the screen would sometimes not go black when blinking.
- Fixed a bug where players could walk through the 914 doors when they were closed.
- Fixed elevators occasionally flipping players around 180 degrees upon teleport.
- Fixed 173 breaking through the testing room glass before the door was opened.
We are pleased to announce that we have created a roadmap for upcoming features to SCP: Escape Together. The roadmap currently only consists of V0.2.1.7 upcoming features- as time goes on we will expand it, including adding upcoming versions and features, and providing overall more transparency as to what we've been working on. Hi all, short announcement here for those whose primary language is not English. We are proud to announce that the SCP: Escape Together store page & currently existing achievements are now available in multiple languages! This includes the game's description, early access answers, and all currently existing achievement names and descriptions. We already have a couple of non-English servers that are hosted by members of our community. Now, a few of our community members have joined us in translating the store page, achievements, and - in the future - content in-game (coming soon). Credits go to the following users for translating the store page into different languages.
