Hello everybody,
Maybe you already know but "Mad Cream Games" is just a family of three artist enjoying making games, nothing more; and PR unfortunately is not our forte.
Seeing that, we are aware that we haven't posted many development logs, because we prefer to focus on developing the game, rather than talking about it. Either way, we still feel that you deserve to know a little better of the work we are doing and in which state it is. That is why we are here to try to be a little more transparent about the development and future of Painting Werther:
First the good news... The game is almost complete.
More than 75% percent of all one hundred scenes are done and checked, with minor adjustment for the rest.
The bad ones... We are still months away from release.
We are remaking a lot of the early scenes and adding more substance to some of the late ones.
We are also a little behind on the music part, but it should not be cause for concern, there are already 15 pieces and more on the way (5 of them already on our YouTube Channel).

The text of the demo and Steam page is being done by me, and there are probably a lot of mistakes (it will be greatly appreciated if you tell me about those hahaha). But don't worry, the final text for the game will be done by our cousin, a professional English translator (we are from Spain).
A very updated version of the demo is nearly out, we are just fighting with 4:3 displays for all of you who still use this cursed screen format hahaha (damn you cs pros...) (widescreen is already fixed internally thanks to Steam user Celo, who warned us about it).
Just so it doesn't surprise you, the demo will not transfer the saves to the final version because it does not represent the full start of the game (there are a LOT of scenes missing).
We are trying to make Painting Werther the best it can possibly be.
It is already more than two and a half hours long and, at least for us, it is kind of hypnotic.
We are working hard to be able to give it to you as soon as possible.
Thank you again for your patience and stay tuned for more upcoming announcements!

It was one of the novels that most influenced the Romantic Movement in the XVIII century.
Loved by artists and emperors, it showed the inner struggle of a deeply romantic man.
Or at least that's what they want you to think...
Come with us on this visual novel, retelling a classic work in a way you have never seen before.
Was really young Werther a romantic? Or was he just a man with a death wish?
How deeply did he really love his friend Wilhelm? Maybe his letters hide some clues...
And if that's so, did he even loved Charlotte? Or did he just love the idea of an unrequited love?
For all these questions and more, Mad Cream Games presents you and overloading artistic experience:
Painting Werther is an interactive linear visual novel that retell the romantic story, The Sorrows of Young Werther, written by Goethe, with living paintings and reimagined classical music.
With this game we wanted to celebrate the mastery and abilities from the painters and musicians that came before us, presenting their work in a new respectful way.
