Celebrating Crumbling City's 5th anniversary

To celebrate Crumbling City's 5th anniversary, we are releasing the World Update, which gives all of our cities a major face-lift. This update brings fully reworked terrain, improved visuals and even more buildings for you to crumble.

New features


- Fully reworked procedural world & city generation - Some new buildings and decorations - New Mission Type: Survival: Try to survive during a certain time. Destroying stuff makes the timer go faster. City Defenders will be very hard - Introducing difficulty levels: Easy/Normal/Hard - New video setting: VSync (On/Off)

Tweaks


- More animated parts for buildings (like rotating wind mills) - Improved vehicle animation - Improved visuals of each level - You are warned when your health is critical - More feedback is given on city destruction status in Speed run missions - Added more debris effects - The Select Class menu now also shows the Mission type to help you with selecting the most suitable class - There are now also Back buttons in the Select mission type and Select class menus - Lots of weapon, enemy and mission balancing - Improved building destruction physics - Option to play in PC mode, even when SteamVR is available - City Defender vision cones are now also visible in VR

A new era for Crumbling City - Update 0.3

For the past few months, we have been very busy working on this new update for Crumbling City. This version comes with a brand new system for destruction, a whole new mission system, procedural decorations, smarter enemies and a bunch of other changes. Here's what changed in this update:

New features


  • New dynamic destruction engine
    • Building pieces can now clump together
    • Buildings and certain decorations are now hollow
  • New props system that allows decorations to be placed on and around buildings and other decorations during the procedural generation process
  • Certain buildings, vehicles and decorations can now have a random color
  • New mission system with 4 unique mission types (classic, mass destruction, time trial and stealth), each with different game mechanics
  • There's a new campaign mode where you can play through all the new mission types and all the levels

New content


  • Lots of new decorations and props
  • New billboards with realistic advertisements and some jokes

Changes


  • Abilities now require confirmation before activating, allowing for more precise placement
  • Enemies no longer die instantly, stronger enemies can tank more hits before crumbling
  • Enemies no longer stop spawning when all waves are completed
  • Spiced up many weapons and abilities with brand new visual effects
  • Updated every single model in the game to match their scale
  • Spoiler alert: there's an exciting new animation that plays when you win a mission
  • Buildings now also have a variety of sizes, which enables more dense cities
  • Revamped enemy behavior and player detection to make them feel a lot smarter
  • Updated traffic system to have more natural looking movement for vehicles

Other changes


  • We now have full support for more controllers like the Oculus touch controllers (Quest 2 & Quest 3)
  • Fixed a lot of bugs and improved performance.

Update 0.2 is here!

This update changes a lot about Crumbling City and defines the roadmap for upcoming updates. The new City Creator brings a whole new sandbox mode where you can create your own cities! Just to destroy them again a few minutes later. The new levels bring tons of diversity and brand new visual elements like different terrain types. The game used to be very quiet, with only a few sound effect, now there is a plathora of soothing sound effects that immerse you into the universe of Crumbling City. The update also brings a lot of other cool features, which you can check out yourself by playing the game! A full changelog of all brand new features and changes in this update will be published soon.

This is a VR multiplayer physics destruction game made by a small indie team of 2 people.

Your goal as a monster in a city is to destroy that city, starting off with your virtual hands as destrcutive weapons and progressing trough the game with various weapons and firearms.

You can play co-op with your friends or play by yourself. If you don't own a VR headset and would still like to play this game there's also support for keyboard and mouse gaming.
