Hey Ghostist Players,
I hope you're all doing great! It's been an amazing journey since the release of Ghostist, and I can't thank you enough for your support. Your enthusiasm and feedback have been invaluable.
I'm excited to share that I've been working on a new game called "Housekeeping To Room 501". This casual horror game dives into mind-bending liminal spaces within a haunted old hotel. Your task is to clean the hotel while avoiding its otherworldly inhabitants. You can find more details on the Steam page:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3307410/Housekeeping_to_Room_501/
I wanted to give you a heads-up about the upcoming release because I think you might like it.
Wishlisting the game would be a BIG help!
Thank you once again for being such an amazing community. Your support means the world to me, and I can't wait to hear your thoughts on "Housekeeping To Room 501"! And if you're interested in creating some prerelease videos - don't hesitate to contact me!
Best,

Hello Players! This month has been quite busy on the boring side of things, a lot bureaucracy behind the scenes kept me from developing the game further. But I don't want to bore you with that, so here are the new things/changes:
- new ghost behaviour! The ghosts articulations have been reworked, sometimes you have to deal with little ghost girls, sometimes you have to deal with big ghost boys. Enjoy!
- new ghost model was added along with some animations
- rearranged the EMF (sorry)
- made the toilet a little less prone to flushing
Reading and hearing your feedback was the greatest part of this last week. And it has inspired me to make another update for Ghostist. Let's start with what you came here for:
What has changed?
- new music was added and some old music was cut - the activity levels of different ghosts should now better reflect their personality - gave the GIC some common sense ( Id like some feedback on that ) - removed the social links - fixed some noise-bugs - changed some item prices(you get to keep your saved items though) - made toilets flushable These might seem like rather minor changes, but under the hood a lot has changed. And it enables future features that I won't discuss just yet. This is not meant as a "Horse Armor DLC"(comment if you got that reference) but rather as a "Hey, I'm still here and I'm so happy that you are, too!"-Update. But that was too long a title, so Welcome Back!-Update it is. Once again, I'm really happy you're here, and I hope you enjoy your time with Ghostist. I love watching you play my game :)
Hello World!
This recent week has been crazy. Insym, one of my favourite Phasmophobia-Youtubers made a video about Ghostist. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNMILb_hTss&t=2829) After that video came out Ghostist got a lot of love from you, the players. You helped a lot with your reviews, screenshots and comments, which made me very happy. This has been a passion project, and now being able to see more people enjoy that is the greatest thing one could wish for.
Possible Future Updates
I want to give back a little. I am thinking about another update, and i liked the suggestions Insym and some of you made. One thing I have to say first: Multiplayer is not something you can just include in a game, it is a design decision that has to be made early on in the development. But if you have other ideas do let me know. Customization is a big topic, and I'd love to include more options. In the meantime, if you crave more Ghosthunting, I have made a demake that is free to play. A demake is an existing game reimagined for older hardware/consoles/platforms. It also features local multiplayer. This is my demake of Ghostist. You can find the controls in the description. Have fun, thank you all for stopping by, and have a great day. taxicomics
Hi everybody! Thanks again for your patience. After the early access I got great feedback, and hearing from you was honestly one of the best experiences I ever had in the creative field. Thanks again for that! Some time after publishing I got tons of mail and messages, I got really excited. Turns out there are a lot of people trying to scam you for free games-which wouldnt be thaaaat bad-but they are not interested in your game, they just want to resell the bounty on other pages. Thats how those cheap steamkeystores work. I got really frustrated with that and took a big break from gamedev. But then I remembered all the nice people who helped me make this game a reality and slowly got back into it. Thanks for that! Im now putting the finishing touches on the game, so this might be the last update before full release, depending on the amount of bugs that you might find ^^
- New Level (studio apartment)
- more music and better radio
- bugfixes, bugfixes, bugfixes
Whats new?

We were hard at work and reworked a lot of the game based on your feedback. The artist did a wonderful job tweaking lots of big and small stuff. Lets get started:
Gameplay
- Big Ghost-B-Gone Changes, it is now a much more important tool. All ghosts emit EMF's, but only some reach the tip of the scale
- Added the "expert guess" bonus for experienced hunters. If you have not yet experienced an effect but think you know which ghost you are dealing with you get a bonus if youre right
- Ghosts really hate cross breezes now and are eager to close open doors
- Ghosts hate being constricted. That means less being stuck but also less catching the ghost with salt. Ghosts will now try to free themselves after some time
- changed cheats
Items
- Added coffee! Use it for big maps or just to increase your blood pressure
Maps
- Lots of big and small map changes, some changing features, some just adding bathrooms
- Added a new map!
Art
- Reworked the tools in small and big ways, most prominent changes to the spirit box
- Lots of new bathroom stuff
- some new furniture
- changed the shadows
- added more lamps
General
- small bugfixes
- got first hatemail
- got lots of very nice mail too!
- got excited for release on Tuesday
- reduced camerashake(thanks Michael)
- glued the lightswitches to the Off position(thanks again Michael and s**tpost
- reduced ghosts attackspeed
- made "circle of death" more prominent
- changed cheats
- removed the "no ghost"-feature

You have become a Ghostist. Now you need to prove that you are capable of finding and identifying ghosts in several different places. After arrival you have to use your tools, senses and courage to investigate the place and find the ghost.
Once you start to notice strange things around you ranging from a faint noise to an immediate attack you have to carefully check for all the clues to identify what ghost you are dealing with.
The G.I.C (Ghost Identification Chart) is helping you identify the ghost. Check all the boxes of possible symptoms and it´ll propose possible ghost types.
With all the money you earn you can buy additional equipment helping you to locate the ghost, keep the ghost away or just keep the fear at bay.
