A very quick update on development : it's going pretty well at the moment, we are still on target. In the last few days since my last twitter dev thread about the game (which you can find here), I've been working hard on getting multiplayer working. I'm currently going through a cloud provider to ease deployment, but I do intend to add local network matches in the future. It just feels simpler like that to connect the future alpha testers with COVID and stuff steamsad plus, this allows me to push forward on the competitive aspect of multiplayer : player profiles with stats, a (fair) rank system, all the things!
So in the screenshot above, you can see the new ground tiles with enhanced 3d. They were essentially quads up to now, I'm starting to add more detail to each tile to take advantage of the level builder's inner workings. Feel free to react if this feels good or bad! I intend to continue redoing assets with overworld positions like forests, mountains and cities, so that it feels nice and consistent.
Anyway, that's the gist of it! Here's what's in store for the following days:
finishing the full game loop, all of the components are still a bit independent atm
model more units. Pre alpha will come with 1 infantry type, 1 APC, 1 tank and 1 helicopter, just to verify it works fine in its simplest form. More units will make their entry in the coming months.
pre alpha testing with wonderful warriors (if you wish to take part, DM me on Twitter, @tuxication)
Hope everyone is safe in these troubled times.
Big love,
Tuxic
