Daily Challenge Contests are a Steam-exclusive, limited-time contest where you can compete to get the farthest in the Daily Challenge for real prizes! To celebrate the start of these contests, the winner of the first challenge will win a Turnip Boy plush!
Additionally, weve released a new Tax Hat just in time for Tax Day! Avoid paying your taxes in style with this haute couture.
You can access the Tax Hat from the mailbox outside of Turnip Boy's greenhouse once you update the game. Whats more, its not the only hat youll receive this year. :) We have timed hat releases in the next year to coincide with major holidays. Follow us on Discord or Twitter to learn when they release. Gameplay changes

• Introduced limited-time Daily Challenge Contests! Youll also be able to see if a Daily Challenge Contest is active by looking at the leaderboards in Sunset Station! (Steam only! Internet connection required!)
• Added Japanese localization!
• Riot shield now blocks poison!
• Added an option to turn off movement camera panning.
• Add deadzones on both the right and left sticks on controllers. (This should help combat slight Joycon drift for everyone playing on the Nintendo Switch!)
• Slightly moved Tots over to the left to prevent soft-locking.
• The retry text when dying now says continue on the Limitless Line to help communicate that when you die, it returns you to Sunset Station, and doesnt instantly start a new run.
• Added a sub shop sign near the Waysandwich sandwich shop.

Bug Fixes

• Daily Challenges have been completely overhauled, and now reset at midnight EST worldwide. (Steam only! Internet connection required!)
• Plastic fangs should no longer revive and softlock the player if you kill an enemy while dying.
• Optimized downloading leaderboards on Steam to combat longer loading screens. (Steam only!)
• Fixed the Unsupported Platform message appearing on the Nintendo Switch, regardless of if they have obtained a Daily Ticket.
• Removed the introduction videos and replaced them with static logos to provide better support for Linux & the Steam Deck.
• Fixed a bug where the game would display 1 instead of 100% when speedrunning.
• Moved some trees to prevent the player from going past the load zone in the area of the Weapon Woods with the road.

Today we're launching v1.1.0f2 of Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion! This update mainly focuses on smaller bug fixes surrounding the Sunset Station Update! While this doesn't address everything we're planning on fixing, this update is our first step to polish up the experience!

Gameplay changes

• Reduced the Daily Challenge Ticket cost to 5 Blue Tickets.
• Decreased the rate which sheep shoot out wool by half a second.
• Increased the Explosive Keg's chance of causing an enemy explosion from 20% to 45%.
• Doubled the amount of damage the Sawblade does to enemies, and increased it's knockback by 50%.
• Slightly edited the Daily Challenge Leaderboard's position & filled the gap it left with bushes.

Bug fixes

• Fixed an exploit where players could farm enemies spawned by bosses to increase their daily score.
• Conductor Onion will put himself out from being on fire when teleporting.

Hello everyone! Today we're launching v1.1.0 of Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion, an update we're dubbing The Sunset Station Update! This is an absolutely massive update that took several months for us to develop! We've added an infinite train dungeon to the game known as the Limitless Line! The Limitless Line is not just another dungeon, as it has its own type of items called Trinkets, which are obtained during runs and define a meta of their own! Not only that, we've added a ton of rewards for doing well in the dungeon, the chance for familiar characters you know and love to appear on the train, and an absolute ton more! To access Sunset Station, you must first complete the game to unlock a ticket for the Limitless Line. Check out the trailer! • Added a new boss fight in an infinite train dungeon!

Hello everyone! Today we're launching v1.0.1 (& v1.0.2) of Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion! While this update mainly focuses on bug fixes, improvements to features, and general quality of life improvements, we've managed to sneak in a few hats! :) Before we dive into the gameplay changes and bug fixes, lets talk about our new hats. We have three new hats that youll access from the mailbox outside of Turnip Boy's greenhouse. Heres a preview of one of them - Cat ears are in! =^._.^=

Gameplay changes

• Added new hats!
• Added Traditional Chinese & Korean localization! (v1.0.2)
• Implemented God% as a possible speedrun route. (This requires you to beat the secret boss in a typical Any% run.)
• Added a sign in the graveyard to help teach players that they can dig up graves with their Soil Sword.
• [spoiler]Ellan's Boombloom doesn't spawn until you encounter the rest of the I.R.S. in the secret boss fight.[/spoiler]
• The Mission board now has an ok button to make closing it more intuitive.
• [spoiler]Petalportals[/spoiler] now have an effect to show they're slowly dying.
• The game now uses borderless fullscreen.
• Added the option to swap confirm & back's controls for those on controllers who would enjoy this.
• Achievements now should attempt to unlock every time you enter an area. This does not include the achievement for [spoiler]blowing up the nuke in the mafia base, although you can trigger that achievement again by simply doing it again. (Make sure you aren't using God Mode!)[/spoiler]
• Added a popup for when you collect all the tax documents telling you what to do next.
• Added the quickswap buttons to the collection screen UI.
• Added a community menu on the main menu with information as to how to join our Discord!
• Improved the keyblock disappear particle effect.
• Made the read screen for documents easier to read by removing text effects. (v1.0.2)

Bug fixes

• Fixed a bug where the shaking audio the wardrobe makes in the [spoiler]Bomb Bunker[/spoiler] wouldn't stop playing when Turnip Boy leaves the room.
• Fixed a bug that would prevent Movemelons from properly allowing Turnip Boy to push them if they were grown before Turnip Boy got the Move Mittens.
• Fixed the softlock players were encountering in the southern area of the Forgotten Forest.
• Fixed an issue where [spoiler]Liz's scream audio[/spoiler] would play multiple times at once.
• Fixed a typo on the directions sign in the Plain Plains.
• Fixed the it's used in the [spoiler]Rotten Cat Apple's[/spoiler] boss description.
• Fixed an issue where touching an enemy even while in the hit-stunned state would shake the screen instead of just being on hit.
• Slightly moved the sign in the northern Forgotten Forest to cover less of the puzzle.
• Fixed a bug with time stopping not being registered when paused, which broke the on screen button prompts.
• Improved the look of the document popup when it first appears.
• The game will now properly deal with tampered save files. (WARNING: do not manually edit your save file, as now the game will delete it to prevent several crashes.)
• [spoiler]Humans will now no longer appear in the Bomb Bunker if they already have attempted to flee, regardless of if the player leaves the area before they fully flee.[/spoiler]

Hey there tax evaders! Thank you all so much for the amazing response we've had at launch! It means a ton to us that you guys are enjoying our little silly turnip game! We wanted to make a post here to update everyone on our plans going forwards, as we have a ton of content that we're working on that we're really excited about!

v1.0.1 Patch

First off, throughout our launch we've been keeping an eye on the game, and logging any bugs, softlocks, and all the wonderful feedback we've received from the community! We will be releasing a patch in the near future that will address the most common issues, as well as add some extra features and polish to make the game play even better!

v1.1.0 Content Update

This is the real reason y'all are probably here! We're planning on releasing a FREE large content update within the next few months. This update is still heavily in development, but the overall plan for it is to introduce a replayable dungeon that works more like a roguelite than a traditional dungeon! This dungeon will feature its own separate story, and be full of unique items that will form a meta within itself. While nothing in this update is fully finalized yet, we have a ton of concepts and ideas that we're really excited about, and we plan on sharing more about it in the near future! We're hoping that it will scratch the itch for more Turnip Boy, and will become something the community enjoys for years to come! Here's a sneak peek at the sick beats fblk made for it!
