It started off a bit bumpy at launch since this is my first game, but I genuinely believe that all of the comments, both good and bad, have helped me to make Brookhaven even better! Im also excited to share that bug reports have considerably decreased, much to the disappointment of Noah (sorry, bug boy). It will remain up indefinitely with the most recent patch, so feel free to take a look whenever you get the chance. I would like to announce our 1st community event for Brookhaven! This is a fan art contest! Your art (Digital, Hand Drawn, Crafted) must be tasteful and family friendly to the spirit of the game. You do not need to already own Brookhaven to enter the contest!
Contest will be closed on April 30th and winners should be announced during the 1st week of May!
Theme: Show everyone your Easter/Spring dressed or inspired Witch or Warlock! Must include one element found within Brookhaven in your art somewhere.
Prizes: The grand prize winner will get a physical Brookhaven T-Shirt sent to them plus their choice of a Steam copy of Brookhaven (for yourself or to give to a friend) or a DLC item code for the Steam version.
The 2nd winner will be drawn at random from all those who entered something. The prize is a Brookhaven key to use or give out or a DLC code. We wish to encourage EVERYONE to join in with something and understand not everyone is a high end artist, so long as you submit something that is more then a "stick figure" and seems you put a little thought into it. You will be entered for this one.

Changelog: - If you are unable to move when you start the game, check in Settings that CONTROLLER = OFF. This should be a one-time thing. - Adjusted how you chop down trees and mine rocks. You no longer need to place your mouse on the object to interact with it. - Added Dark Overlay option into the Settings Menu. If you had previous issues with CreateTexture2D or lagging while its dark, please try turning Dark Overlay OFF. - You can now reset your selected perks using the Goddess Statue in Dionysus Village. - Adjusted the Defense points system and added more outfits to it. - Adjusted how stones appeared in the Dungeon to try to combat crashes and lag when entering a new room. - Fixed the toddler hanging out in space. - Fixed the Enchanted Onion crash from a wandering faery. - Re-introduced magic spell damage to boss battles. - Fixed the Thomas crash during the Beltain Festival. - Fixed the Toddler crash during the Yule Festival. - Removed the accidental gifted building (if you received one, you can move it or delete it at the Apothecary. Greetings Brookhaven denizens! I've been steadily working on patching up issues over the past few days. Thank you for your patience with me as a new developer. Bugs and Fixes: - Unlocked teleportation spell for the time being for new characters. Its usually unlocked during a beginner quest, but I thought it would be helpful for now. - Reduced texture page to help with possible lag. - Fixed Natalie stunt-double on her ranch while horseback riding. - Fixed the players vampire biting ability that caused a crash with certain monsters (bats, ghosts, squirrels). - Moved Harper to a new spot in the Temple while shes praying. - Changed the sprinklers depth and re-worded its description. - Fixed the Halberd Recipe typo. - Fixed the duplicate foraging bug. - Reduced the collision box on stones, weeds, and trees for ease of access. This should prevent getting stuck on these objects as well. - Added normal fish to the list of fishing catches on the players farm (which I have affectionately named the Trash Pond). - Minions will no longer aggro to quest monsters on their own. - Mouse left-click was added as an additional key for refilling your watering can when standing next to water. - Janus the Mirror gives new cooking recipes. - Added a rug into the library to help show you where the Temple is located. - Added a Setting to turn on/off the Gamepad Controller. I still recommend using keyboard and mouse for now until I re-work the controls. - Fixed combat and textbox dialogue causing a freeze when together. - Reduced the amount of objects (grass, trees, stones) that spawn on the players farm upon starting. -This should help with any lag for new characters. - Fixed accidentally placing items if your mouse was in the mini-inventory. - Patched Prismatic Amulet and Amulet of Health in the Cauldron not showing properly. - Added Notes for the player to read in dialogue with better explanations on how things work. - Fixed the crash that occurred when you have 3.5 hearts with livestock. - Moved the player location in the Unwritten Lands upon entering. - Patched the save bug that caused the player to spawn in weird locations upon saving. - The drone on your farm is easier to destroy. - Increased monster spawn in the Forest and added the Hedgehog into the dungeon spawns. - The Blood Altar y position was changed. If yours is still too high, then visit Katya to move it for free. - Fixed fishing sometimes not opening the mini-game. - You can now sell Evergreen seeds. - Worked on Romans and Thomas dialogue. - Fixed Igloo not being placeable onto the farm. - Werewolves no longer require Silverlight to be killed and decreased their spawn rate on Full Moons. - Prevent objects from spawning after a certain limit to also prevent lag. - Zombie Manor and Menagerie should be built in a reasonable timeframe now. - Added Colorblind-friendly colors into the game. - Fixed the crafting item, bomb, not showing. - Fixed Zombie Manor x and y locations upon exiting. - Added a Starting Chest when you begin a new character. - Added fall and winter art to the beach. - Replaced the numbers on the chest with pictures for what it does instead when you click on it. - Fixed Yeti portrait art. - Increased the spawn rate for worms. - Fixed goblins not completing their dying animation on level 20. - Added a Confirm Exit text when leaving the game. - Fixed the entering Barn and Coop bug. - Fixed the Iron Breastplate crash while equipping it. - Fixed the shower for transformed players (werewolf, wendigo, bat, giant).
Brookhaven is now officially released! This has been a long two-year journey as a solo game developer, and I couldn't have done it without our lovely community. Brookhaven is a project that is close to my heart, and I have plans to continue adding new content (new romance options, more quests, more spells, etc.). The official release date is set for February 18th and Beta Testing is still on-going since it's been a blast. I'd love to have everyone join us on the Brookhaven Discord to see some sneak peeks, and to chat with all of us about the direction of the game. I've implemented the vast majority of feedback and suggestions from our beta testers into the game, so please feel free to share any ideas for what you'd like to see happen in Brookhaven.
