VR Update
First update for the VR fellas has arrived! thanks to the feedback you've given me XCavalypse VR exists. Sometimes desperation drives you to make bad decisions if it wasn't for you guys i would've given up the VR Version altogether. The next update should bring bigger environments, exploration (on foot), survival mechanics, more guns and loot, maybe some crafting. The framework is there just need to add the content. http://store.steampowered.com/app/516770/
Price Increase
If you haven't bought the game yet DO IT NOW and get to the choppa, price will only keep increasing on each update. If you already bought it, thank you! If you wanna further support the developing take a look at my patreon
What's on my plate now?
Will be working the next two months on the base game in the single player side, there's many features and assets that i want to borrow from the VR DLC.
Dropped Oculus Touch Support
There's been a discussion about this in the forums, in the end i was not qualified to get a dev kit from Oculus (many thanks to them for considering me), so for now only the Vive is supported however is not discarded in the long term steamhappy Thanks!

I've been working on the VR version lately, mainly to incorporate standard vr features like teleport, grabbing stuff and so on. I know many people is waiting on this update, but sadly is not ready yet, i wanna move past the tech demo and make a game out of it, and is taking alot of time. However, i've put a preview of the current work on the "vrstable" beta branch if you wanna take a look. Thanks to baka, WIREFIRE and ProSoft2 for putting some sense into my head to not give up the VR version. I really appreciate the feedback.
XCavalypse VR
This update is coming later this month as a free DLC. It should be a "game" give or take, remember im just one guy making this so i wanna start simple and fun. Why a DLC? just for mere practicality, to get more store visibility and to distinguish between the two games, this is a perfect way to do it. There's some improvements in the performance side and a complete control revamp as well as a new VR optimized environment Might add some weapons to use when you're not inside the excavator. Did i mention that? you can now hope in and out of your excavator :) gameplay should be also focused on that. ie collecting fuel, repairing, etc, etc. Thanks!

Almost two months after release and a lot of hard work XCavalypse is now multiplayer, if you haven't purchased it yet this is the right time to do it!
You'll be able to team up with your friends to kill zombies in a fun and semi-competitive way!
Remember this is still early access, so keep the feedback coming in the forums.
Amendment
Based on player feedback - I'm listening! - I amended the big mistake i made by making XCavalypse controller only, this is now in the past as keyboard and mouse are now first class citizens. However you can still use a controller for a more realistic experience.
Features
- Tutorial has been improved
- Simplified Controls
- Multiplayer Matchmaking System
- Sandbox with destructible buildings
- Third person character
- Item pickup system
- Accumulated bug fixes
The elephant in the room
If you have noticed XCavalypse is not longer shown as a VR game, i had to make this difficult decision as most negative reviews came from it which is hurting the overall game. The VR version will be still improved and updated but only as an extra experimental feature, meaning all the content from the main game will eventually be available in it. ie: new vehicles This mainly comes from the fact that the price have increased and it not longer reflects the amount of content the VR Version has. In the near future there might be an standalone VR version which obviously will be cheaper, all xcavalypse owners will get it for free. Thanks guys! ːsteamhappyː Dont forget to attend this weekend's multiplayer event! i will be there like always

Multiplayer Update
Finally after weeks of work the multiplayer gameplay is taking shape, below there's a raw work in progress gameplay video. Hoping to get you excited as i am! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uj4cc5vZ_AA The idea behind the construction worker character is to encourage teamwork, someone rides the excavator and everyone else makes sure the excavator keeps going (ie running out of fuel) - as well as using the excavator as killing and luring mechanism. Details on the game mode are still under design and implementation - this are just ideas right now This update is coming on July 29 together with more content, bug fixes and improvements.
Beta
In order to ensure smooth release, i've put a BETA branch with the latest build. It can be activated within the game properties in steam, see below:
This will also apply for further updates, if you wanna always have the bleeding edge version despite issues and bugs this is for you!
Multiplayer Events
Since not many people owns the game, im gonna schedule weakly multiplayer events so we all gather and play toguether - starting by tomorrow Sunday July 10 http://steamcommunity.com/games/447960/events/874079166049753986. You'll need the beta version installed until further notice. More event dates will be publish later next week
Linux
Updated BETA version will be available shortly after this announcement (takes quite a while to compile) but for sure available for the event. Thanks for all your support! steamhappy

Multiplayer Preview
An initial multiplayer implementation has been added, very basic but it's already exciting looking it at work! Try it out with your friends. Feedback is appreciated!
VR
Some needed love for the VR version, specifically to address motion sickness in the form of control rework and optimization. Trackpad with haptic feedback A dual stick control scheme has been added for the trackpads, in addition to that, haptic feedback has been implemented Also added a monitor screen to enable a cockpit view from the outside Optimizations Level has been optimized, fidelity has been lost a little bit however, hitting 90 fps is more important. Let me know if your GTX 970 runs well. Controller Model A custom high quality vive controller model has been added, it looks pretty neat and it's also optimized with moving parts. Let me know what you think about this update Cheers! steamhappy

I've been sick for the past week and a half an i've been unable to make any progress, however i can't delay the release date any longer. Vive integration is not ready yet and the tutorial/intro is incomplete, i would say to wait for a July update for a better first impression. For those who still are interested in the game - despite not being ready - there's a 40% launch discount, To make it more interesting i'll be adding a bunch of achievements to keep you guys busy :steamhappy Thank you.

Hello there! I've been very busy making the game ready for release! I've been working on a voice over campaign introduction (with tutorial) that i hope will add value to the game and give a brief preview of what's to come in the future! Also check @TheRealIndie playing an early alpha of the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BY2PUm3u2A4 He had so much fun just playing without any game mode! After a brief introduction to excavators you'll be in control of a powerful machine to do the dirty work of cleaning up the city, however you'll need to get there first, making your way into the city, destroying barricades, demolishing buildings. The task isn't easy but it has to be done.
