URG has been updated to version 1.83.

- Fixed a bug where the game would in some cases freeze in the ship selection screen
- Added a secondary weapon! Try the B-button or the right shoulder button on the game controller. Both weapons can be used at the same time (the primary weapon is on A-button and the left shoulder button)
- Moved the camera further back and scaled down the ships slightly. This gives much more spacious feeling and the camera is no longer "on your face".
- Added chromatic aberration post-render effect and slight screen distortion for some more "retro" feeling
- Made the tutorial more interesting by adding a bunch of enemies in the early levels!

URG build 1.82 fixes an issue where the ship's radar would sometimes vanish during ship level upgrade.

There are now many more sound effects in the environment. Doors opening, player spawning, etc. There have also been some performance optimizations and small fixes. Chain spawning is now removed from the tutorial levels, as some players were accidentally spawning it and ended up being confused.

The latest version includes many small improvements, such as many new sound effects and more information about the weapons.
- The most important bug fix is that the ship configuration screen used to show up twice before some levels - this has now been fixed.
- There are now sound and visual effects when the ship hits a wall
- You now get coin rewards for breaking down those small asteroids. I noticed from gameplay videos posted on YouTube that many of you like to blast those, so I figured it should be rewarded!
- Some people seem to be stuck on the very first level, so I added an arrow pointing at the lever you need to either shoot or hit with your ship to open the door.

URG is an exciting new game from Utopos Games where you get to explore the asteroid belt, discover new alien species, fight enemies and equip and upgrade your rocketship.

There are multiple ships, dozens of weapons, and a whole ton of wild aliens. The game is spread over multiple distinct "worlds", each of which has its own graphical style and special gameplay features.

URG offers a single-player game and a co-op local multiplayer for up to 4 players.

The demo offers unlimited gameplay through 8 tutorial levels. If you choose to upgrade to a full version, you get to keep your progress and the collected coins from the demo.

The previous version introduced a bug that caused the played progress not to be saved when exiting the game. This update fixes the issue. Any progress from a previous version will be restored once this update is applied.

The earlier 1.72 update placed URG.exe in a wrong folder, causing the game to not start. This new update fixes the location.

URG is a result of three years of development by an industry veteran game developer Jani Penttinen. For Mr. Penttinen, URG is a return to his roots. URG is a remake of his very first game from almost 30 years ago. With URG, he was finally able to make it the way it was always supposed to be played!

During his 3 decades in the game industry, Mr. Penttinen has worked in lead game developer roles for such legendary game developers as Westwood Studios and Remedy Entertainment, but the time has come for him to return to being an independent game developer, to work on games he really wants to make.

The gameplay in URG is split into multiple distinct worlds, each with its own theme and special gameplay elements. The players earn coins when completing missions, and these coins can be used to purchase new weapons and ships.

URG supports all modern game controllers and in fact, has been written to be a console style game. The game supports a keyboard as well, but for the best experience, a game controller is recommended.

Guntech is a crazily addictive space shooter. It is the brainchild of game industry veteran Jani Penttinen. As a solo project, Jani has worked on Guntech for over two years. It's a sequel of his first game, Utopos, from 1993.

Utopos on Atari ST was considered by many as one of the best games ever made on the platform. Guntech takes the good old gameplay, bakes in some state of the art 3D graphics, big explosions and colorful weapons to provide an ultimate arcade shoot'em up experience.

Guntech launched in Steam Early Access on January 10 and was just updated to version 1.19.

While Guntech is getting great response, one of the most often asked features has been a free demo - the ability to try out the game before buying it.

The free demo of Guntech is now available. The demo is a fully playable game with no time limit. It includes one level from each of the three game modes: Adventure, Racing and PvP Arena. Also included is a tutorial. The demo contains plenty of replay value, while still leaving a lot of valuable content to the full version.

The full version has more of everything: More levels of course, but also more different types of weapons to unlock.

One final note - Guntech is best played with a game controller (such as the PS4 controller)! You can play it with keyboard too, but if you have a controller, hook it up and prepare to have a lot of fun!

Guntech has been released on Early Access

Guntech, a sequel to an Atari ST classic Utopos from 27 years ago, has just been released on Steam for PC and Mac. Developed by Jani Penttinen, who created the original game. Back in the 90s the original game was rated as one of the best games ever on Atari ST, Guntech is a sequel that is made for today's standards in terms of graphics and gameplay.

Guntech is a space shoot-em-up for 1 or 2 players. The game offers three modes of play: Epic single player adventure, racing mode and player vs player split screen arena fight.

Scalable graphics ensure beautiful 3D sceneries that utilize the most powerful graphics cards, while still being able to run on minimum specs computers. Special focus has been on gameplay, so anyone who loves classic arcade shooters should feel at home with Guntech.

This is the first live release of Guntech. Even though an Early Access release, the game is fully playable with all game modes available. The developers will keep monitoring Steam forums and plan frequent updates based on feedback.
