Hello tacticians! The game files have been updated to include a few small changes and bug fixes. Redownloading is recommended, but will not significantly change your experience with the game. Fixed issues:

Infinite mode will no longer prevent you from continuing past floor 4
Replaying the tutorial no longer breaks the game
Controls menu updated to include hotkeys and correct screenshot key

The Big Gay Update (v2.8)

Happy Pride Month, tacticians! To celebrate, our mechanics ordered a whole new set of paints for your mining units. Once you download this update, you'll find new options in the Extras > Customize menu reflecting many flags on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. It is by no means a comprehensive list, but try to forgive the mechanics; their supplier only has 256 colors available.
These new customization options don't require any steps to unlock, so simply download the update and they'll be immediately available the next time you launch the game. We hope these new options for expression help inspire you to delve deeper into Montmane and make more money for Echo Mining Corp! See you in the mines! -Katja van Loode

Some secrets displayed in the extras menu without being unlocked
Secret shop area opened up before the intended criteria were completed
Catja portrait now has angry version

Katja's Abyss: Tactics is a turn-based tactics game with minesweeper-inspired mechanics and pixel art graphics. Creates and control mining units in a cave, mining for energy and defending against warped monsters that appear in the darkness. Play in two modes: Campaign and Infinite. In Campaign Mode, follow a story across 8 authored levels with unique mechanics. Infinite Mode has multiple difficulties, and each time you complete a level, you automatically move onto the next. The high score of consecutively completed levels is recorded on the title screen. In both modes, find collectibles that hint at the lore of the game world.

In the campaign, your supervisor Katja van Loode, Head Researcher at Echo Mining Corp, guides you into increasingly dangerous sectors of the mountain Montmane. Although she gradually trusts you as a captain, she consistently refuses to give you much information about what her intentions are. There is evidence that some of her decisions go against headquarters' orders, but she continually keeps you in the dark. It seems these caves hold many secrets yet uncovered. Will you follow Katja to the end in hopes of answers?
