Map editor and custom lobbies
There is a map editor now!!! The map editor is not built into the game, it is a separate software. You can find the editor and all available instructions on our webpage Map Editor installation
With the help of Moto, we reorganized the whole menu of lobbies and queueing for games. There are now four distinct modes to play the game:
The voting processed is now integrated into the UI. The initiation of votes is now done through the escape menu. All voting options can be selected and started there. The voting process itself is also integrated into the UI now. In the top left screen, a little panel is shown, showing the current vote and offering the option to vote yes or no with F5 and F6.
One wall of the tutorial contains a little gap now. This requires new players to hold only SPACE and nothing else, in order to be able to climb that wall. Guys, have fun!

Hey fellow racers, with this major update we mainly released our map editor! You can build your very own cube racer 2 maps now. And since that isn't enough for us, there is even more:
Map Editor

Server Browser/Lobby Rework
With the help of Moto, we reorganized the whole menu of lobbies and queueing for games. There are now four distinct modes to play the game:
- Quick match (If you just want to be matched onto a public server with other random players)
- Custom game (Create your own custom game. There you can change all settings like map, amount of rounds etc.)
- Server browser (See all running servers, and choose where you want to join. Can also be used to join the custom lobbies of friends)
- Splitscreen (As usual)
Custom lobbies
- If you create a custom lobby through the main menu, you can change a lot of game settings. These include maximum players, amount of rounds, team race, skills, skill boxes, gravity, building credits, building time, ban obstacles and set the current map.
- If other people queue through quick match, they wont get matched onto custom servers. So custom games need to be joined through the server browser.
- Custom games are also needed to play maps created with the map editor. Only there you can select the custom maps you have subscribed to in the steam workshop. Other players should not need to have subscribed to these maps prior to joining the server, since the game will dynamically download the needed maps through steam.
Voting
The voting processed is now integrated into the UI. The initiation of votes is now done through the escape menu. All voting options can be selected and started there. The voting process itself is also integrated into the UI now. In the top left screen, a little panel is shown, showing the current vote and offering the option to vote yes or no with F5 and F6.
General changes/updates
- It might sound unbelievable, but yes, you can look up and down now when using mouse movement
- On the lowest graphics quality settings, the weather particles are now disabled to improve performance.
- We tried to prevent the savegame files corruption bug from occurring, but since I wasnt able to identify the problem completely, there is only a workaround built in now, which might repair the corrupted files itself, but since it isnt possible to reliably reproduce the bug, it hasnt been tested yet.
- The pipe stuck check has been improved, to further prevent people from getting stuck inside of pipes
- The elo should now only be affected, if a player took part in at least three rounds. Since this hasnt been tested as well, it might only take two rounds. If you have feedback about that, leave it on the discord, so we can further improve this.
- The angled pipe has been improved and should not cause the game to lag on all clients anymore. This was not fully tested as well, so it remains to be seen, whether this works as expected :)
Obstacles
- All obstacles were reorganized into six categories instead of four. The new categories are more inspired by the purpose of obstacles, rather then trying to classify the type of the obstacle. This should make finding a certain obstacle more intuitive and improve the building experience. There are also new icons for all six categories.
- The bottom bar of the building menu has been increased in width, so there is no need to scroll now in any category. For now ;)
- Magnets have been balanced. The range is now reduced from 40 to 25, and the strength was reduced from 50000 to 37500.
Tutorial
One wall of the tutorial contains a little gap now. This requires new players to hold only SPACE and nothing else, in order to be able to climb that wall. Guys, have fun!

Race
This is not just a racing game, this is pure chaos from the starting line to the finish line. Dodge as much deadly spikes as possible, while using that sneaky portal to skip the hardest part and leave your friends behind in all that mess. While you're at it, honk at them to assert dominance.Build
After you won the first round, build as much obstacles as you can. Make it difficult, build traps, spikes to smash all other cubes. But if you're really evil, build some secret path to get past that deadly stuff. Set some walls, portals and canons to boost yourself even more.Rage
Now watch your friends struggling to get past the mess you built, honk at them while you jump past them. Take care for the obstacles they might have built, and race to ultimate victory.MINIMAL SETUP
