While we are happy, that you can still settle via Steam at the moment, this will unfortunately not be possible with the new interim Air Client or Unity version afterwards.
Be assured, that we looked into maintaining a playable client for Steam, as we know that many of you really like the platform. In the end we decided to streamline all our Settlers to our official website.
The Steam version will shut down on the 31.12.2020. However, we are able to offer you an TSO account de-partnering from Steam. This will allow you to access your home island with all it's progress via our website.
Please get in contact with our support team as soon as possible, if you want to make use of it.
In line with our terms of sale, we hereby inform you that there will be no refund of any virtual currency you have spent in the game or for any resources you still may own on shutdown date, nor any conversion of any remaining virtual currency to another game.

NEW FEATURES
- Weekly Challenges are a brand new set of short quest chains that have to be solved within 7 days! If you're successful, you will be awarded tokens which can be used to upgrade residences. The Training Grounds and Elite Training Grounds are new buildings which boost the recruitment speed of both the Barracks and Elite Barracks by 50% respectively. Available for Magic Beanstalks and Gems at the merchant.
- The Medic General & Scouting Post have been added to the in-game Merchant to purchase with Gems!
- The weekly chat server reset message has been updated.
- Added a confirmation pop-up window when deleting mails: the old "delete" context menu popup will now show an overview of their selection and request confirmation.
- Fixed an issue that caused talents and skills on some specialists to not be correctly displayed.
- The Mail Window will now automatically close itself after successfully sending a guild application mail.
- Fixed an issue that would prevent players from sending guild/private mails everytime they log into the game.
- Pumpkin Field Fertilizers will not be available to trade after the Halloween Event has ended, as intended.
- Permanent retro skins can now be applied to buildings with an active production buff.

- The amount of pre-selected buffs should now not exceed the amount of available buffs or the camp capacity.
- Fixed an issue with the collect all feature which could lead to a visual error where items and XP were temporarily added twice and later the excess resources were removed again. This visual error only occurred temporarily and no player actually received any more/less rewards than they were due.

- The Mail Window usability has been improved with new features such as mass deletion, multiple select and filter sorting.
- This year's Halloween Event will be technically implemented into the game, which will officially begin on 22/10/18 at 10:00 CEST!
- Removed two side banners from the shop to increase category list size.
- Adjusted the fog in the "A Giant Battle" adventure to make only discovered camps targetable by buffs.
- Daily Quests from Premium will remain available for the whole day on which Premium expires.
- The Footie Field now displays the buff duration in a consistent format.
- Adjusted the cost of several low-level buildings to better reflect the resources players at that level can produce: Pinewood Cutter, Pinewood Sawmill, Pinewood Forester, Tavern, Mason, Fisherman, Provision House, Storehouse, Copper Mine, Coking Plant, Copper Smelter, Toolmaker.

- The title of the mails received after an unskilled explorer's search are no longer containing the term "skillful".
- The text of certain quests has been adjusted in The Mountain Clan campaign venture, Unknown Region.
- Changed units which were not affected by combat abilities in certain co-op adventures.
- The descriptions of the buffs affecting your troops in the Mountain Clan Campaign will be more specific.
- A display glitch affecting the cavalry's tooltip description due to the piercing cold debuff of the Mountain Clan Campaign has been fixed.
- The little water tile on which it was possible to apply an island deed has been linked to the proper sector.
- If a production of an epic workyard is upgraded while a buff is running, the upgraded production is also affected by the buff.
- The description of the quest "Save the Deers" has been adjusted to be more specific.
- The issue with claiming new island sectors has been fixed.
- There are no deposit limitations for Titanium, Granite and Saltpeter on the archipelago anymore.
- Settlers Headquarters cannot be deleted if it is the last storehouse in the sector.

- The limit for Lucky Explorers in the Black Market has been increased by one (1) since the Summer Event ended.
- The cursor will be focused on the chat input when the home island updates.
- Wildlife should now be visible again when visiting a friend's island.
- The tooltip for the buff quests "A Mysterious Coin" & "A New Gemstone" are now displayed as intended.
- The "Hearty Soup" buff now recovers the correct amount of units in "The People of the Mountain" adventure.
- Removed restrictions to player actions from the "New Settlers" quest.
- Fixed a rounding issue in the damage calculation for the General's "Sniper Training" skill.
- Fixed an issue in the "A Giant Battle" adventure where destroying a boulder wouldn't correctly unblock the path.

- The implementation of the Jump and Cancel button for the Barracks, the Elite Barracks, the Combat Academy, the Combat Armory, the Provision House and the Rarity Provision House. This will allow you to move orders to the top, bottom or cancel them altogether.

- Marking collectables will no longer be counted as buffs for friends when completing certain quests and achievements.

- It is now possible to disable the full storage notification for Epic Workyards.

NEW FEATURES

CHANGES & IMPROVEMENTS
- The adventure difficulty level will now be displayed in the invitation mail.
- Wardog stacks are now properly reduced after attacks in Expeditions.
- Sending generals to the Star menu or adventure zones should no longer cause freezes in the game.
- Hit points status bar in battle reports have been adjusted for multiple bosses.
- Guild house levels will now be properly displayed for friends visiting your island.
- Generals and marshals will now move at the expected speed, whether at the beginning of an attack command or after it ends.
- Quest description of "Two sides of the same" got adjusted to match the quest tasks.
- You can now select either an Industrial or a Special Gold Mine to complete the second objective of "The King's Visit Part 2" quest.
- Assassin buffs can now be applied after Weak Point Potions on the same camp.
- Fixed an issue that caused invested books to vanish from generals if they were sent to an adventure shortly after training the skills. Sometimes books would not be assigned correctly to the generals. For example, if you invested 5 books and went to an adventure too fast, the general would not have the new skills, but you would still have the 5 books. This situation has now been adjusted; to clarify even further, no books were truly lost during the process.
- Buff quests will not be triggered again if one is already running.
- Zone-wide buffs can now be overwritten with similar ones by the adventure's host player. Guest players can no longer cancel zone-wide buffs on adventures.
- Trading history will never display deleted trades again.
- Buff quests should no longer get stuck.
- Adjusted the tooltip of the "Disable smoke" option to reflect the current situation.
- The achievements "Head Shot!" and "Rampage!" now refer to leader camps instead of boss camps.
- Fixed a bug in Firefox which moved parts of the UI to the upper left screen
- Buff UI in buff adventures will now always have the right target area.
- The "Village schools" limit at the in-game merchant has been adjusted for those who already bought some during a previous Halloween event.
- The avatar message for the tropical cage buff for "The little panda" quest chain has been adjusted. An icon will be now displayed along with a text specifying the correct buff name.
- Sectors are now reachable via hotkeys even when a building menu is open.
- The image in the game archive is now updated with the new adventure UI layout.
- The falsely applied bonus to instant finish productions of the Mayor’s House got removed.
- The [undefined text] should no longer appear in the guild chat
- Deposits that have the skill to be mined faster should now have the correct "Production time".
- Island deeds can now only be purchased from level 50 onwards.
- A panel in the adventure window has been relabeled from "Mission" to "Details".

- The Larsian Silk Cat: New short quest chain, based on the winning entry by Julie3 (can be acquired through short letters).
- Of Songs and Curses: New venture, based on the winning entry by Thejollyone (can be acquired through rough travel guides)
- Adventure categorization has been adjusted in order to be easier to understand. More details in the corresponding Dev Diary.
- New Guild house upgrade levels have been added to the game. The levels are based on the member limit unlocking at 30 members (level 2), 45 members (level 3), 60 members (level 4), 80 members (level 5) and 100 members (level 6)
- A mountain has been added to the home island map in sector 3.
CHANGES & IMPROVEMENTS
- Stacked scenarios are now counting correctly towards certain scenario achievements, such as Scenario Source.
- The sidequest "Gift baskets" will now start at lvl 22 instead of 21.
- The Pathfinder task "Adventure time" now recognizes The Dark Priests as a mini adventure/mission.
- The information in the help archives about Bandit camps has been updated
- Moved a sector border in "Red Riding Hood" to fix an interception issue.
- A trigger in the quest "Send your Training Forces" got fixed.
- The amount of troops sent to the Training Expedition when restarting it after a prior cancellation is now being reset.

- Excelsior's shield icon has been removed.
- Generals can no longer be sent to an expedition.
- Resources from colonies can always be claimed now.
- Currently active expeditions will not show a false status anymore in the Colony Overview.
- The description of five scenario achievements has been adjusted in order to avoid confusion.
- The description of the "Trouble-seeker" skill has been adjusted to reflect that it also affects map fragments.
- The "Send to adventure" button on the general UI will display all options now when running two active adventures.
- The checkmark button to finish the main quest in an adventure should not appear anymore in the adventure tab of the quest book.
- The level 69 side-quest "Miscalculation" has been renamed to "Titan Inc."
- Hotkeys will now respect the input field priority, no longer be causing the viewfinder to jump to certain locations, such as the Mayor's House or the adventure zone.
- A new entry called "Bandit Camp Demolition" has been made available in the archive and the text for "Detailed combat breakdown" has been adjusted accordingly.
- The tooltip of items produced for "The Pied Piper of Hamelin" had been adjusted to make it clear that they get removed when the adventure ends.

With a little over a month until the end of Summer, it's time to start planning for one of the most anticipated events on The Settlers Online. You guessed it: Halloween is right around the corner! And for those of you who've expressed interest in a way to make generals move faster with a buff, we proudly introduce this brand new recipe:
Platinum Horseshoes
Description: Unlocks a new production in the Rarity provision house.
Effect of the buff: Increases movement speed of generals in the zone by 20%.
In addition to these two new items, several minor changes have been implemented in comparison to last year.
Among others, 10 adventures will be pushed as "seasonal adventures" for this year's event. They will drop three times as many resources and refills as usual. A complete list of these adventures, as well as all other changes, will be provided with the event Dev Diary in October.

The Science System was extended with the game update on May 16th. Generals got their own skill tree with 26 new skills!
Rapid Fire, Juggernaut, First Aid and Jog are only the first four new skills. A list of all the new skills was published in the corresponding Developer Diary. A Dev Blog with further explanations was published in our forums as well.

Dear Settlers from the UK, if you are experiencing issues in the UK English shop of TSO on Steam, we are aware of those and already work on a solution. - 3 new generals are available at the merchant. Each can only be acquired once. If you already have one of them from the Christmas event Calendar, you won't be able to buy it from the merchant, but you will still be able to buy the other 2 generals.

- A new icon will be now displayed when the storage maximum capacity for the produced good of a building has been reached.

We've implemented new content like buffs, buildings and decorations in this year's Halloween event. Also, the way Pumpkin Cemeteries work has been changed.
More Adventures reward Pumpkins (via Refillers). Find Pumpkins by sending Explorers out on a Treasure search, collect guaranteed Pumpkins on the island and play hard to get all 2016 Halloween Achievements.

Dear Settlers, We are very happy to inform you of a major change:
No more weekly maintenance
From now on there won't be weekly downtimes anymore! The good old worker has retired and will only return everynow and then for special scripts and game updates.
Several fix scripts will run every day around 1am GMT during runtime instead of one time a week during the maintenance.
New game deployment time
There will also be new time frames during which the game will be updated. The exact times will still be posted in an update announcement 1 day before, but please keep in mind that updates will be deployed around 7:00 - 11:00 GMT We hope you'll enjoy the maintenance-free times! Santa is fast: He dropped a new Sneak Peek in our forum's chimney.

NEW FEATURES
- Guild market: New items are available in the guild category of the merchant > check out all details here <
- Merchant: The Industrial Iron Mine (output like level 7 iron mine) is available for a short period (Start: Nov 26th, ~00:00 GMT)
- Merchant: The Improved Farm can now be acquired for gems (Architect category)
- Achievement: "Have active guild" is only granted to guilded players
- Achievement: Discovered deposits of titanium ore, granite and saltpeter now contribute to "Lay of the Land"
- Building: The production of the Epic Woodyard can now be stopped
- Building: The Barracks, Provision House and Tavern can now be rebuilt properly after being torn down
- Building: The Cherry Tree uses less building space again > see the previous announcement here <
- Combat: The combat arrow in the combat report now points into the right direction
- Guild quest: "Island of the pirates" is replaced by "Witch of the swamp" in all quests
- Guild quest: Guild quests can now be properly deleted/cancelled again
- Interface: Orders in the Garrison window are unavailable when assigning units
- Locked Zones: Improvements to decrease the amount of locked zones
- PvP: Deleting expedition defense camps built from the star menu shows the correct message
- PvP: XP is now granted for all camps in a sector, once the leader is defeated
- PvP: Previously unattackable expeditions camps can now be defeated
- PvP: The training expedition is working properly again
- Quest: "Bandits!" and "Once and for all" can now be completed after defeating the correct number of bandit camps
- Scenario: Storm Recovery buffs have the same costs in both provision houses now
- Specialist: Geologist skill "Nature's Gift" shows the result right away - a refresh is no longer necessary
- Text: The Easter Basket Houses on the Tikki Island adventure have a proper name now

- Flash player detection (Chrome, Linux) was improved
- NW library was updated (Kaspersky AV warning, Windows 10 compatibility)
- Steam overlay handling was improved in certain situations

- 10 new sectors will become available
