Hello everyone! Version 1.0.3 of Gimmick is out, with new music for playing as Alice! In fact, we have a special event about Alice. Did you know SPACE MOUSE originally came out in September 1981 for the PC-8001? It stars Alice, cat astronaut as she climbs her way to safety! Since then, MINDWARE re-released the game in 2016 on steam, and published a sequel, SPACE MOUSE 2, last year! Since then, Alice's latest adventure is Alice and You in the planet of numbers! All three are available on steam as well. MINDWARE was kind enough to have ALICE cameo in GIMMICK, and as part of this special event, in honor of the 40th anniversary of SPACE MOUSE, unlocking Alice is now set to 40 coins, and playing as Alice has a special remix of Alice's theme! As well, Gimmick will be 20% off on Steam, starting Aug 19th at 10 AM PDT and running for one week! Don't miss out on this special event!

Hello everyone! Thanks for playing Gimmick in the Chaos Dimension! We're here with patch notes for 1.0.2: BUGFIXES: - Fixed explosion of wobbly lingering longer than you expect it to. Now lasts a flat 30 frames (half a second) - Fixed the ability to wait out wobby's explosion by pausing - All animations should now stop when the game is paused. IMPROVEMENTS / GAMEPLAY ADJUSTMENTS: - Pickpocket at max stealth mode now makes a sound when it happens - Stealth no longer can go through enemy attacks (wobbly's explosion, sleepy's portal, enemy shots) to compensate for it being longer duration than freeze. - Freeze now destroys all enemy attacks. This includes sleepy's portals! - Enemy shots now destroy themselves on impact with Gimmick. - Level display! Shows how far you've currently made it in the maze. - Stats now saves the max level you've gotten in the maze, as well as the maximum stars/power you've gotten in a single run, for anyone who wants to go for bragging rights. - The barrier should be much more threatening now. If this ends up being too much, this may be adjusted in a future patch. Coming soon is a new song, that's associated with our special guest! We will also have the soundtrack available as well. Changes: - Linux launching should work properly now - Fixed bug where tornado can't get achievements - Fixed very rare bug where a hole wouldn't appear in the maze - Upped the rate at which coins spawn - Every maze generation will now have at least 1 powerup - Enemies can no longer wander through the barriers - Enemies can no longer spawn in walls - Enemies SHOULDN'T be able to spawn near Gimmick and immediately attack as the game loads.
