Greetings Vikingr! Pushing a small update to Longphort with a handful of quality of life changes, most notably:
Obey my commands
Vikings when not actively engaging an enemy will now follow commands given by the player more strictly, this means that when a viking is stuck on their comrades they won't just charge headlong into the enemy. Instead they will head wherever you click, be it running to the ship and leaving their brothers in arms to fend for themselves or navigating around their comrades to get stuck into the fray.
Pick your targets
The raid screen has been cleaned up significantly. Now each duchy is a drop down button, and the colour of the text on the button indicates the awareness of that duchy, green for low, orange for medium and red for high. There are a few other balance considerations in the patch but the mobility and UI changes significantly impact how fun the game is and was worth an update on their own. Enjoy!
A major update to the game bringing huge quality of life changes, including new portraits and over three times as many character names. Unlock the full potential of the tavern as it refreshes every turn, not just between raids. Enjoy a smooth experience with improved pathfinding, controls and bug fixes. Happy raiding!
Happy New Year Vikings (can you still say that in February?) I've been contacted by a couple of Vikings through our Discord, who have noted a handful of bugs and made a few feature requests for this Longphort update. (A horn of ale for Beefeater and Soonmoro) This update features:
Fixes
Bug Fix - SFX/Music volume no longer resets when raid starts Bug Fix - Death sounds now inherit from SFX Bug Fix - Unmuting/muting no longer gets stuck Bug Fix - All costs update depending on if you have enough money Crash fix - The game will no longer occasionally crash during the raid tutorial
Features
Enemies now have HP bars Opaque background for settings menu Settings menu generally improved In the raid menu, the region now shows on the right The settings menu is now available during raids and pauses the action New popups every few years with flavour text as well as an alert for how long is left in the game Once again a big thank you to you all for playing the game and for the feedback, if you have any feedback for me for a feature you want to see added or any bugs I've managed to miss feel free to contact me at any of the various locations in the game menu. Happy raiding!
Small update that didn't make it into the Drink From Your Skull patch, characters will now bleed every-time that they are struck instead of only after the last animation finished.
Small update today which fixes some issues people have had with generating targets. This will also stop the targets from changing after you have selected which one you want to raid. A minor change to the menu with a new background.
Vikings, Vagabonds, Countrymen! The post-launch update is here bringing all new quality of life changes.
Blacksmith
Head on down to the Blacksmith and you'll find yourself better equipped to... better equip your Vikings. The new UI will not only carry the equipments icon but also the name and price so you can better judge how to outfit your Vikings, alongside the new highlighting system that makes it clear who you are equipping. (Special thanks to user Royce for inspiring this update)
Highlight System
Oh that's right, now when you address your warband your Vikings will let you know who your speaking to by highlighting themselves. This small change will dramatically ease the management of your warband. When dealing with cutthroats and thieves it tends to help to be clear.
Javelins
Your Vikings no longer march into raids with a single respawning Javelin, instead they carry a number of javelins on their person. This helps to differentiate the Javelins from the Javelin being thrown and the spears, and also just looks a whole lot better. I hope these small updates help your experience of Longphort, if you have any additional ideas please leave a post in the forum. Ver heill ok sll!
Today's update fixes a major bug that was causing players to crash upon killing or being killed. It was related to a pre-launch update made after gathering feedback from the demo. We hope this hasn't caused too many issues for Sea Kings and you will now be able to build your Longphort and raid the Christian in peace. If you do encounter any further issues such as bugs, crashes or other strange behaviour please make a post in the community section where it will be addressed as soon as possible. Happy Raiding!

Longphort Linux [221.23 M]
Become A Sea King
Build, manage and your own Viking fort. Choose where to invest your gold and slaves from your Longhall, Tavern, Blacksmith, Shrine and Dock. Upgrading each brings different bonuses, from a larger ship for more crew to new armour and weapons to worshipping more Gods.
Manage Your Crew
Assemble your crew, hire Vikings of various levels with 5 different specialist backgrounds, train them, care for them and equip them with weapons and armour, be it a bulking Viking with plate armour and a war hammer or a thief clad in leather and a crossbow.
Go On Raids
Take your crew on raids in search of gold, slaves and glory, but beware the locals. Randomly generated targets between 5 duchies means no two games are the same. Be careful, the more you raid the more prepared your enemies will be.
Worship The Gods
Sacrifice your Thralls to 5 different Gods for unique bonuses.
Based On Real History
Experience the life on the Viking settlement of Dublin as you carve your way through 30 years of history.
