Will the Rekindled Update include new gameplay features or mechanics (new animals, items, biomes, multiplayer, etc.)?

The Rekindled Update is a refinement of the original game and its features. Improvements have been made across the board to existing features, but we will not be introducing brand new animals, items or biomes in this update.


Will you ever add new gameplay features or mechanics to On My Own?

We recently announced that we are looking into expanding On My Own after the Rekindled Update. Nothing is official, but the team is looking into the logistics of another update. Please consider joining us on Discord or one of our social media accounts to stay up to date.

The Rekindle Update Coming This Fall

Earlier this year, we announced the Rekindled Update for On My Own, a free update that would bring the game into 2020 with improved background art, performance and gameplay enhancements, new characters, and more.

Over the last couple months, our small team has been working on the Steam version of the Rekindled Update and we wanted to share a preview of our progress. While we weren't able to get this update released to Steam by the end of Summer, we are making steady progress towards a release sometime later this Fall.

January Update - Bug Fixes

We have some good news today: we released our first update since this summer that will hopefully fix some issues that players are having.

This update includes (but is not limited to):


  • Controller set-up bug has been fixed. We recommend trying out OMO with a controller for a more relaxing experience.

  • Fire bow drill is now easier to use. Try crafting this item when you run out of matches.

  • Computers that are having issues with UI resolution should see an increase in UI fidelity.

Thanks to our new developer Alex for looking into these bugs. We hope to continue looking into issues based on user feedback. Thanks for your support!

November Update - New Developer On Board

Hello OMO Players! Its been a while, but we have some good news to share.

We're excited to announce that we have a new developer joining our team. In the coming weeks, Alex is going to be helping fix issues and bugs, as well as optimize the game.

We'll be taking a look at the comments players have brought up the past couple months and see what we can do fix the game, and make it a better experience for players. If youve found any new bugs, please let us know in the OMO discussion area.

May Update (Controller Support!)

It's been some time, but we are back with an update for On My Own!

- Players will finally be to sit back and enjoy the game with a controller as we are bringing gamepad support in this update.

- We've also been listening to user feedback, and added a couple new prompts in the game. News update on development progress! We hit some big milestones these past few weeks:

News Update

We've been very quiet since our last update in early October, but the team has been working very hard on what we are hoping is the final release version of On My Own. We apologize about the lack of communication; know that the team is fully committed to seeing this project through to completion.

Here is some of the new content and features that players can look forward to, along with some new screenshots of the final biome:

  • The Mountain Biome will be available for players to check out. This biome will be the most unique of the 4, as players will need to be well prepared to overcome the harsh elements in order to reach the top of the mountain.

  • Each biome will now have all four seasons, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring. Each season will offer a unique challenge in what resources will be available. Players will be able to keep track of the length of each season with a new seasonal interface element during the nightly sleep screen.

  • Players can discover secret letters and items left behind by the mysterious forebear.

  • New craftable items and wearables to help on your journey. Also, the Journal Menu will now show crafting recipes of items that you have made.

  • New level of visual polish, with some refined animations, more detailed background assets, and new lighting features.

  • New original music for players to enjoy.

  • Gameplay adjustments to help usability across all platforms. We've been listening to user feedback, and continue to refine the gameplay experience.

  • A more cohesive tutorial, with hints to help get players up to speed on the gameplay.

  • And some secret stuff that you'll just have to find in the game!

    Update 0.5 is Live!

    -Menu overhaul. Revamped all of the menus to be consistent across the game.

    We are excited to announce that our biggest update for On My Own is now available on Steam Early Access! This update includes (but is not limited to):

    - A new camp, the Alpine Tundra Biome, complete with new flora and fauna to discover.

    - New User Interface implementation that labels all objects for the player.

    - Journal Encyclopedia that documents all items, plants, and creatures in the game. Accessed from the Main Menu.

    - Food Cache in the Woodland Lake Biome to expand the amount of items you can store.

    - New craftable Deerskin Jacket to keep you warm in the winters and help conserve energy.

    - A brand new song, written specifically for the new Alpine Tundra Biome.

    The team is narrowing in on releasing a big update sometime in June. Players can look forward to checking out:

    Update 0.1.9 is now released, This release contains new features and optimizations. The add ons include(not limited to):

    Update 0.1.7 is now released, This release contains new features and optimizations. The add ons include(not limited to):

    Update 1.0.5 is live!

    Update 1.0.5 is now released, This release contains mostly bug fixes and optimizations. The fixes include(not limited to):
    - Not being able to get the Warmth Achievement
    - Unlimited Fireweed
    - Performing actions while changing equipped item
    - Stuck on loading screen
    -Most optimizations are from the new season system. Seasons (Winter and Summer currently) now happen on a 5 day cycle.

    We want to thank everyone for their early support, this was a great and insightful first week on Steam. We are busy working on new content and gameplay features for "On My Own", and are excited to share it with you as soon as we can. Thanks again!
