After almost 2 years of development, Hex of the Lich is releasing on Friday the 29th! Thank you so much to everyone who has playtested the demo or offered feedback. I try to take every bit of feedback into account and it really does make a difference! The launch update marks a big increase in the amount of content in the game, bringing up the level count and adding more enemies to slay and spells to play around with, as well as optimizations and bug fixes. Here are some rough counts of how much content there is at the moment:
- 75+ Creatures
- 80+ Spells
- 60+ Hexes to add to any spell
- 45+ Artifacts that change the way you play

Hex of the Lich is still in development, but it's getting close to release. There are 3 floors of content developed, with loads of new high-level enemies and god-tier spells to blast them away! This will likely be the last demo update before release. Major Changes: - View future stages and select your path with a new world map! - Collect powerful artifacts that enhance your character(!) in shops. - Hexes and spells are free after each combat. Shops contain hexes and artifacts. - View your past victories and defeats! - New run stats including time taken and "slain by". - New spells and hexes! MANY more added to the full version. - New enemies summoned by the Lich. - Tutorial now plays on your first run. - The game saves after each combat and shop. - Change game speed and other things in the settings. Settings now persist when the game is closed. Other changes: - Hexes trigger in a more intuitive order - New first floor boss added - Various balance changes - Difficulty decreased slightly - Credits updated - All known bugs fixed Cheers! -Zac

Hi! Hex of the Lich is still in heavy development, but I thought I'd post an update on the progress so far.
The biggest change with this update is the switch from 3 characters to 1. Players often found 3 characters overwhelming, and the amount of spells and abilities each could have made for some dizzying combinations. Although that could be fun, it added a lot of complexity to the game- complexity which could be better used on the crazy spell system.
Which brings us to the second BIG change- hexes can have multiple effects! You can stack up to 3 effects on each hex, combining them to do some pretty wacky stuff! Summon a minion and Empower it the same turn, create a rock and then fire chain lightning off it, or apply frail to an enemy before blowing it up with TNT!
Other changes:
- Preview hex damage/effects without having to hover over them
- Replaced the "upgrade cost" system for a "number of upgrades" system
- Replaced the "recharge rate" system with a "number of charges" system
- Levels are now procedurally generated
- Enemies now have 1-2 abilities instead of 3
- Some statuses/effects tweaked
- Removed squad/difficulty select for new (it'll be back later)
- Press tab to cheat :)
There are lots of new spells, enemies, music, and quality of life changes as well. The tutorial was scrapped for now, but it'll be back soon.
Cheers!
