Apple Silicon (M1) Support + Future Plans

It's taken a bit of testing, building, re-testing, re-building... I could go on for a while. Finally, Apple Silicon (M1) is now supported! This means that we've hit the point where all the major platforms can now experience this short story! Although there won't be any more major updates to 7th chance, minus me having a startling revelation of how to continue the story, I can now focus more time on my next project, which is progressing nicely. Thanks to all those who have played, thanks to all of you who have left reviews (negative or positive), I really appreciate every word and have taken lots of the comments on board for next time. Merry Christmas, take it easy, be safe, see you all again soon!

Patch v1.3 Windows + Linux - Now Available

Thanks to community feedback on all versions of the game, the following have been implemented.

All Builds


Pause Menu


Fixed issue where text was missing for "Sensitivity(Mouse)"

Credits


Fixed location of credits, and the rate at which they scroll

Texture Quality


It was reported texture quality in the settings does not make much of a difference. It is a minor visual change, but it now affects quality of textures.

Screen Resolution Picker


Scrolling through the dropdown box was mentioned as being too slow, speed is now greater Fixed issue of resolution defaulting to 640x480

Starting Location


Some users said the text accompanying the starting location did not match what was on screen, character has been relocated.

Linux


Flickering shadows


Have switched from OpenGL to Vulkan rendering, which has elimated this issue in testing. This may come with a performance decrease. Fixes for the OpenGL renderer are still under review.

OSX


There have been no reported issues with OSX builds so far. The "All Builds" updates will be coming to OSX over the next few days.

Known Issues


Linux Only


Selecting objects - this is still a work in progress, but from testing is now at least a little better. More investigationg required. Thank you to everyone who is playing and your continued support. If you encounter any issues please post them in the Technical Support discussion area.

Update Notes - Patch v.1.2 - July 19th, 2021

After further community feedback the following changes have been made: [olist]

  • Fix the hard cut for audio between end game scenes by introducing a delay
  • Fix the house showing during transition to next scene
  • In game options menu now allows user to change their mouse and controller sensitivity

  • Updated Steam store page to better reflect estimated playtime.
  • Added option for mouse Y inversion.
  • Further testing and implementation of controller Y inversion.
  • Smoothed transitions for ending scenes and returning to menu scene.
  • Remove red box appearing in audio options.
  • Fullscreen on/off bug in options menu resolved.

    After passing out in the woods near your camping site you hear a loud rumbling and the sound of falling rocks. Returning to your tent you see it has been crushed.

    In 7th Chance you will explore a twisted version of our own reality where you are confronted with the demons of your past and present.

    The game is a linear story-based game designed to be played in one sitting and will take 15mins (one ending) to 30mins (complete story + achievements).


    Each choice should not be taken lightly, as they will affect the outcome and if the world decides to offer punishment or salvation.
