Dear friends, We just implemented some changes to the Knightly Passions base game and the Between Life and Death DLC. Heres the full changelog: - Improved the catching of quest fish. Now, if you have both of the quests involving fishing active (meaning that you need to catch 2 different legendary fish, each in a different location), youll be able to catch both fish in their respective fishing areas without having to complete one of the quests first. Previously, if you had both quests active, you had to first complete one of the quests and turn in the associated legendary fish before you could catch the legendary fish for the other quest. - Fixed an issue in the main questline of the base game where a side quest could prevent you from speaking to the witch to advance the main questline (because the side quest prevented her from being in her hut). The main questline is now prioritized over the side quest in that situation. - Implemented new fixes for the gallery. All DLC scenes now unlock correctly. - Nerfed some DLC enemies and buffed others. DLC enemies are now approximately at a medium difficulty level. - Fixed some minor bugs and translation issues. • Fixed a crash when loading old saves. Friends, please remember not to try loading saves from a demo version of the game or a version preceding the 1.0 release. If you attempt to load such a save, youll encounter errors because the old save does not know how to correctly interact with the many new mechanics weve implemented in subsequent versions of the game, causing a version conflict.
• Fixed a rare game crash related to catching artifacts while fishing.
• Cheat codes now correctly unlock all of the 18+ gallery scenes.

Dear friends, Its our pleasure to present you with a new version of Knightly Passions, Version 1.2. This is a technical update in which weve done quite a bit of work on a number of details. So, heres the full list of all the changes in this update:

• Strengthened enemies in Tactical Mode, where the game has become more challenging and more interesting.
• Modified the attributes of enemies in Adventure Mode.
• Added the ability to replay a battle after dying.
• Adjusted the randomness of the fishing minigame. Catching rare fish is now easier.
• Added a skip button to the escape the kurdles, escape the bear, and chase the bird minigames.
• Added a DLC button to the main menu.
• Reduced how long you need to hold down on a skill to upgrade it in the skill menu.
• Reduced the number of kurdles in the escape the kurdles minigame by 25%, making it easier.
• In Adventure Mode, you can now attempt to catch the horse an unlimited number of sequential times.
• Added a skip button to the horse chase.
• Fixed a crash in the memorize and repeat minigame on one of the chests that occurred if buttons were pressed too quickly.
• Fixed version checking for saves. (Previously, the game allowed players to load saves from older game versions, resulting in errors.)
• Fixed several minor bugs.

Dear friends, Today, wed like to share our plans for the near future with you. Were pleased to report that the next chapter of the story of the hunter and his sister wont remain a mystery forever; we unequivocally will not leave it untold. Knightly Passions is our first project. Weve hit an awful lot of bumps over the past five years in the course of bringing you the game you see today. Our small team has picked up some incredible experience, so you can count on us to continue making the best, highest-quality games we can. Our lead artist, Lodi, says that its time to freshen up our art a bit. Its very good, but hes had to make some adjustments and compromises over the years to fit the course we first set five years ago. It bears mentioning that Lodi has drawn 99% of the whole game, and hes been struggling to find an assistant artist since every artist has their own distinct visual style. He truly loves this project and all the people whove been working on it, which is why he reached out to artists who wanted to work with him. Basically the full graphical load rests on Lodis shoulders (everything from the adult scenes to the tiniest UI elements), and that has been slowing down the games development. Just think: Nearly the entire game is drawn by a single, solitary person, who hand-crafts every image down to the smallest detail. Its an extremely difficult job, one that no artist should have to do alone. After speaking with him, weve come to understand that hed like to find an assistant artist whos a cut above the rest. What is Team FEYADA doing for the rest of this year? Were slowly updating and putting the finishing touches on the game as we release bugfix patches. Our attention was recently drawn to some balance issues with the Tactical difficulty mode, which has proven to be fairly easy. In addition to bugfixing and polishing, well be working on making Tactical mode as difficult as we originally meant it to be. Trust us, youll see the game in a whole new light when youre having vivid, intense battles with your foes. Weve also been planning to add support for additional languages to the game. The first language in line is Chinese. However, before we start introducing new translations to Knightly Passions, we need to ensure the game is polished to perfection, which is what were doing now. Wed also like to add voice acting to our characters during adult scenes. If you all support the idea, well absolutely include it in a future update. Now, lets talk about upcoming releases. We intend to release two DLCs by the end of this year: DLC #1 will be released this summer. DLC #2 will be released this winter. Dear friends, Weve just released a new update, Version 1.05, with some bug fixes:

• Fixed the awarding of the Meditation card in Quest 3, The Strength of Ares.
• Fixed the awarding of the Kick card in Quest 33, Hunting the Hunter.
• Fixed a critical bug in Quest 23, The Drunken Mare.
• Improved the awarding of the achievement in Quest 19, The Young Warrior.
• Fixed a bug that blocked forward progress when loading a game during a slide puzzle or while traversing the labyrinth.
• Improved the mechanics of the mushrooms in the forest survival minigame. When there are fewer than three mushrooms of the same type, their effects are proportional to the number eaten.

Preface: If your game runs like a Swiss watch, then skip this message, but if youre experiencing any strange lagging in combat, stuttering, or freezing, then this post is for you. Dear friends, Some players have reported experiencing freezing and stuttering issues during battles. Several players have also reported problems with animations. If youre experiencing the issues described above, there are 3 potential reasons why: Cause #1: A weak computer. Not many people play on a computer with less than 4 GB of RAM and 2 GB of VRAM (video card memory) these days, but if youre having problems with the game, then the issue may be weak computer hardware. Solution: If weak hardware seems like the problem, try playing the game on a more powerful computer or consider upgrading your computers hardware. Cause #2: Video Card Drivers. This is a very common source of problems with animations not displaying correctly. Solution: Update your video card with the latest drivers and everything should work. If you have a good gaming computer and your drivers are all up to date, then the next step should help resolve your problem. Cause #3: The RenPy engine. Sometimes, the RenPy engine doesnt automatically detect the renderer correctly, and it has to be manually switched on. Solution: Hold down SHIFT on your keyboard and launch the game on Steam while continuing to hold SHIFT. Keep holding SHIFT until a gray window pops up like in the image below.
In this window, under Renderer, select Force ANGLE2 Renderer. Then click Exit. Your changes will be saved. Now, without pressing any special buttons, launch the game and see if freezes continue to occur. If changing the renderer solved the problem, great! If not, repeat the process, but this time set your renderer as Force GL2 Renderer. If none of this helps, then we strongly recommend turning off combat animations. How do you do that? During combat, click on your stamina points in the top center of the screen, which will send you to the combat preferences menu. Disable all animations, then resume the combat. We hope this helps those of you whove been experiencing technical difficulties with the game.

Dear friends, Weve just released a new update, Version 1.04, that contains several bugfixes:

• The HP bars of enemies now appear where theyre supposed to during combat. Previously, the HP bars of certain enemies were concealed behind the players cards.
• The Targeted Reflection combat skill card now works as intended. Your current defense value is no longer lowered by using it.
• The chance of catching a question-mark item is now 5% when fishing.
• Fixed certain achievements resetting when attempting to start a new game (namely: Haggler, Jack-Of-All-Trades, Craftsman, Chef, You Know, You Want to Live, Overnight, and Okay, Ill Bite.)

• Fixed the awarding of the achievement for completing the game without using cheat codes. It is now awarded before the credits roll.
• Fixed the English translation of the trophies on the arms dealer's wall.
• Fixed a bug with the status panel display in the Forest Survival minigame where you have to fashion a ladder.
• Fixed a bug with highlighting when meeting Arachne for the first time.
• Fixed the display of the interface in the labyrinth.
• Fixed the intersecting of Quest 2 and Quest 6 in the monastery.
• Fixed the displaying of the characters in Quest 3.

Dear friends, We've just updated the game to Version 1.02. The main fix of 1.02 is correcting the behavior of loaded save files. In Version 1.01, loading a save could make the game roll back your progress, causing it to be lost. Now, in Version 1.02, loading a save will not trigger such a rollback and no progress will be lost when loading saves. We've also fixed issues with the dropping of certain Steam achievements. We're seeing your lightning-fast feedback in comments and discussions, and it sounds like some players are encountering problems with the gallery. We also see that some people are encountering other errors. As soon as we work out these bugs, we'll release a new bugfix update and notify you of it immediately in a news post. Dear friends, As you know, Knightly Passions will be released on Steam on April 26th, 2024. Well attempt to briefly go over what were working on right now. In Version 1.0, well be introducing two difficulty modes: Adventure and Tactical. Weve already got these modes functioning nicely, but we still have a lot of balancing ahead of us, which is going to be quite a bit of work. In the new version, well be thoroughly revisiting quest rewards. Weve concluded that sometimes, rather than gold, you might prefer to receive a good sword, bow, piece of armor, or combat skill card so that the quest reward feels more impactful. Additionally, several quests will be receiving both textual and graphical improvements. Some items will be cheaper in 1.0, while weapons will be more expensive. Were trying to make it so that players dont need too much money in general, but buying a good sword will require several quests worth of gold. Were also considering making the price of items vary based on the difficulty mode. The items offered by the arms trader and blacksmith are being changed. We want to make their stocks expand smoothly as the game progresses so that players wont be able to buy 6th-tier swords at the very beginning of the game. Speaking of weapon tiers, there will be 8 tiers of weapons in total, but the 8th-tier (best) sword and bow wont be available for purchase. Dont worry, youll still be able to obtain them youll just need to make it through some difficult challenges to do so, rather than simply buying them. This is just a small part of what were working on right now. Well have more news and teasers from version 1.0 for you soon.
