Update Notes for October 3, 2022

Three major parts to this update: 1) All of the blasters and abilities have been modified to improve performance. 2) Blasters will now regress if you take damage. 3) A bunch of graphical performance improvements. These don't really affect quality, but the game runs more smoothly on lower end hardware. This is probably the most difficult version of the game released to date. Please bare with me. I'll make it a bit easier in the future.

Added particle effects from the EPIC Toon FX unity asset into the project. Integration of the new particle effects is only partially completed. A lot of the explosions and other particle effects will probably look very similar. Its going to take a while to get everything dialed in just right. Updates - December 20, 2020

List of Updates for December 20, 2020: 1) Changed all music to .xm and .mod format. Program size and loading times are significantly better because of this. 2) Missiles do area of effect damage. 3) Fixed issues related to bullets/missiles colliding with items. 4) Fixed some bugs related to the health and shield bars. Fixes will be ongoing. 5) Fixed some issues related to SAM talking during game over screen and other inappropriate times. Fixes will be ongoing for this issue. 6) Bullets now become transparent when they are too close to the camera. This will help with screen cluttering. 7) Added music to the main menu. 8) Added barrel roll controls for the keyboard. 9) Removed deprecated files related to aimers from the build. 10) Boosting at the end of the level would make the player's ship glow in the next level. This issue was fixed. 11) Made the material for the biohazard crates less bright. 12) Fixed issue related to purple bomb dropping enemies spawning into the game backwards. 13) Fixed issue with executing a barrel roll at the end of the level causing an issue in the new level. 14) The bullet trail used to go through the player's spaceship. This issue is fixed. 15) Overall file size is reduced to ~115 MB.

Barrel Roll!

Barrel roll is now working by double tapping either of the should buttons on your controller!!! Made hit box for items larger. This means that they are slightly easier to collect. Made hit box for the cube enemy bigger. This means that it is slight easier to shoot, but also slightly easier to crash into. Note: Support for keyboard barrel rolls is current unavailable. This issue will be resolved in the near future.
