Im excited to share some great news with everyone - the complete game, including Episodes 46, will be launching on Steam around April/May 2025 Why didnt I release the episodes regularly? There were a couple of reasons. First of all, Im making the game entirely on my own, and its been taking up 100% of my free time. Preparing the game for Steam after each episode wasnt even on my radarI decided to focus fully on finishing the game rather than releasing episodes separately. Second, I believe it will be a much better experience for you to play the game as a complete product, rather than waiting an indefinite amount of time for the next episode to release. Lets be honestmost of you have probably already forgotten parts of the plot. Once I release the final episodes, youll be able to play the game from beginning to end without worrying about whether youll ever get to see how the story concludes. Trust me, itll be worth the wait. Will it be free again? No, Ill charge a small amount for the second half of the game. I havent decided the exact price yet, but it wont be more than $10. Why April/May and not now? Episodes 4 and 5 are already complete. However, Ive just started developing the final episodeEpisode 6. I estimate itll be finished in March or April, and after that, Ill begin preparing the entire game for its Steam release. Why havent you heard from me for so long? When I released the first episodes on Steam, it was simply to share my passion project with youfor free. I never treated the game as a business, just something I was deeply passionate about. Since I have a family, a full-time job, a game Im developing in my free time, and communities to manage on Discord and Patreon, I decided not to engage with another such large community like Steam. I knew it would be too overwhelming and that I simply didnt have the time for it. If I had been treating the game as a full-time business, things would have been very different, but that wasnt my approach at the time. What are my plans after Welcome to Free Will is finished? Once the game is complete, I plan to take things much more seriously. Charging a small amount for the second half of the game is part of that shift. Ive already started preparing for my next big project. Ive invested in new, powerful PCs, motion capture equipment, and Ill also be hiring actors for the first time. This new project will be something far bigger and much different from your standard Walmart AVN game. But thats a story for the future... I hope you're happy with the announcement.
