Update 35 - Unicorn balance

Greetings pet appreciators. A big balance patch has landed on top of the Unicorn Pack, hopefully bringing up to the power level of Turtle pack. In addition to that, there is also the following: - Added so you can right-click on pets while building custom packs to see related pets/food/perks. - Added "replay last battle" button to the game over menu. - Changed all types of perk damage and ability damage to be considered the same. - Changed Parrot + Abomination to be way less overpowered. - Changed the timings on some animations - Fixed several Velociraptors stealing strawberries not removing the strawberries from the pets stolen from. - Fixed several Siamese sometimes moving food into the wrong positions in the food shop. - Fixed Real Velociraptor replacing crisp. - Fixed visual errors with jumping pets - Fixed visual errors when several pets get summoned and moved at the same time - Fixed pets summoned before battle not triggering their start of battle abilities. - Fixed multiple toys causing different outcomes in versus. - Fixed toy ability cards appearing behind pets. - Fixed right-click sometimes freezing and unfreezing at the same time.

Here is a really big star shaped update coming at you! Star Pack has received a serious facelift, both aesthetically and mechanically. We hope you like the new more developed archetypes. Unicorn pack released!

Our fourth expansion has released! It is our absolute favorite so far and also the biggest, featuring 84 new mythological pets in addition to all those that can only be summmoned. It also introduces the new mana mechanic that is used to fuel certain pet abilities. Day/Night Backgrounds Every single dingle background now has a night-time variant. Days are on odd-numbered turns, and night is on even-numbered turns. You can also force constant day or night backgrounds in the settings menu. Balance update

  • Pigs summoned by Wolf are always level 1.
Super Auto Pets Plus subscribers can force the name auto-picker to be random. That's it. Enjoy the game!

Ranked versus mode is a new competitive sub-mode added to versus. Every player has a score that governs matchmaking and lets you see how well you are doing. It is based on the Elo rating system where you start with 1500 points and then gain and lose based on your opponent's score. Spectator mode will let defeated players in private versus keep on watching their friends. You can change which player you want to spectate by opening the in-game "VS" menu where you normally see opponents line-up and health. Asynchronous versus matches means that you will be able to play multiple versus matches at the same time, with turn timers ranging from 2 minutes to 3 days. The general UI have been revamped. Especially the custom pack builder has been improved. Besides the expanded search and filter functions, it is now also possible to make a pack even with unowned pets and food. Although, it still won't be possible to play with anything that isn't owned, but it will let you participate in our monthly pack building contest on Discord. We apologise to the players who enjoyed the classic background and food art. There were a lot of small reasons behind the decision to remove them, like bundle size, memory usage, art inconsistencies, maintenance and license issues. Similar sentiment to those players who love the previous canned food and pill. We are still in the process of making Super Auto Pets look and feels like its own thing, and part of that is to rework art that are too similar to their original open-source versions.

0.27 Release - Puppy pack reworked!

- Reworked Puppy Pack, adding a ton of new pets. The original Puppy Pack had a few issues. It was light on player interactions, and mainly consisted of things that got stronger at the end of each turn. Cycling was the only defined archetype and the rest were less thought out. It shared pets with the Turtle pack, which makes it less interesting to buy and makes it harder to make balance changes. The solution here is to make some really drastic changes, both adding new content but also changing the old. The Puppy Pack tried to make food builds stronger by adding more pets of that type. Not only did food teams not need more power, but they also lack interactivity with the opponent. The cycle archetype has the same design weakness, so instead of leaning deeper into solitary play, the food archetype was replaced with a perk archetype that mainly gains power during battle. Scroll down to the bottom for a list of all changes. - Rebalanced a lot of pets from Turtle, Puppy and Custom packs. One of the strongest and less interesting strategies is to pile upgrades unto a team of early tier pets. Tier 1 is supposed to be the tutorial tier that won't dictate the outcome of the entire game. Our design goal is that every tier upgrade is supposed to be a chance to pivot. It helps weak teams make a comeback and prevent initially strong teams from winning without any additional effort. For this reason, we decided make some tier 1 abilities weaker so they become less useful late-game, and change some abilities so they encourage pivoting rather than keeping. Other pets were also changed because they lacked a strong identity of their own, or their abilities were too long, too convoluted or less interesting. - Changed stacking pets so resulting experience becomes the highest + 1. - Tweaked the Random Roll entrance animation. Players with photosensitive eyes reported a great discomfort because of the quick flickering. We hope that the players who already bought it will understand and still be happy with their purchase despite it being a bit different. - Made all free cosmetic items viewable. Double against Tier 1 pets. - Shark to Friend faints: Gain +2/+2. - Turkey to Friend summoned: Give it +2/+3. - Zombie Fly from 5/5 to 4/4. - Poodle to End turn: Give +1/+1 to a friend of each Tier. - Octopus to Before attack: Deal 3/6/9 damage to 2 random enemies. - Meat bone to Attack for 4 more damage. You are exceptional for scrolling down this far. This is the biggest update to hit Super Auto Pets. We had to go back and tweak some of the old pets to balance the new custom and weekly packs. A lot of the changes were driven by the community and we hope to continue that trend with the addition of the new pet voting feature. Forgive us for messing with your favorite pets. We know some of you get really attached to your favorites. But we truly believe these changes will make the game more healthy and diverse in the long run. The next big update will be to translate the game into more languages and add even more pets. Got some really cool ideas cooking. Stay tuned!

Version 0.16 update!

New update! This one took a while to get out because we have been renovating our backend and had to make sure everything was working. Next up, iOS release. After that, the next expansion pack and custom packs! Will start teasing the new pets as the art comes in. Keep an eye on our twitter. New release! - Added sound and audio control - Un-rollable animals can now appear in the achievement list. (does NOT work retroactively - sorry!) - Abandoning too many games dewards you with an abandon-hat. Abandon-hat players can only play against other abandon-hat players. - You now start with 10 lives. On tier 1 you lose 1 life per loss. On tier 2 you lose 2 lives per loss. On tier 3 and beyond you lose 3 lives per loss. - Versus mode timer starts at 60 seconds and increases gradually up to 120 seconds. - Versus mode lets you peek at your opponents team from the last turn. - Added scrollbars. - Added team to the final score view. - Changed points reward to grow for each victory. - Added option to auto-pick names. - Added option to customize battle speed-up. - Added another achivement per animal for winning the game with the Lvl. 3 version. - Fixed a ton of Versus related bugs.

VERSUS IS BACK !!!

Public matches now plays up to 8 player. If there are less than 8 players after a minute, match will start early. Huzzah! - Arena settings can be changed, so you can play against your own pack, or all packs. - Fast Forward is now saved between battles. - Added log out prompt. - Username can be changed by clicking on it in the main menu. - Freezing no longer requires a server call. - No gold prompt on end of turn if you have a TRex. - Added juicy feedback when food item is lost. - Fixed Rat Pill bug. - Fixed Ox, Snake, Roo + Sheep bug - Fixed Hippo, Dog and other animals that gains health during battle will properly cap at 50. - Fixed Tiger also working on End of Turn and Start of Turn effects. - Fixed Skunk bad math bug. Balance changes - Dodo now only targets 1 minion, but gains damage multiplier. - Butterfly copies from the minion with most health and attack combined. - Bat is changed to 1/2. - Hurt keyword no longer trigger when taking zero damage. They weren't really hurt, just suprised a bit! - Weak is changed to give 3 extra damage. - Parrot loses copied ability at the start of turn and regains his copy ability.

Changes to the way we match up players in arena

Due to negative feedback regarding our packs, we have changed matchmaking in arena so you only fight against other teams with the same pack. This will not affect Versus mode.
