Turkish Localization Live, German Localization Fixes

The Turkish localization is finally up and running! A big thanks to Bengisu "green_marshmellow" Akbudak, Murad Safarli, and everyone who helped make this happen!

In addition, fixes were implemented for the German localization regarding formatting and some dialogue issues.

IF's headcanon-maker is moving!

Heyo folks! With the launch of the new Alternate Universe Playbook, we're closing down the old version of the program that was originally attached to Impostor Factory.

In the coming days, the DLC will be removed to avoid confusion.

Integer Scaling is here

Hello everyone,

integer scaling is a feature that was requested by a few folks in the discussion forums shortly after release; I'm glad to announce it's finally here.

If you're happy with how the game looks on your monitor (especially in fullscreen), no need to change anything. However, if you always thought that the game looked more "blurry" than it should for a pixely 2D game, you might be interested in reading the accompanying post I wrote on the feature:

You can find the 4 additional options in the in game ESC menu.

Unfortunately, it doesn't currently work on macOS retina displays, apologies for that.

Bestest Dancers comic print:
Good news -- after some delay, we've found a manufacturer for the Bestest Dancers comic print run, and will be making them available on https://freebirdgames.bigcartel.com/ along with the other merch in the coming months!

To the Moon series card game project:
During this slower period after IF's release, we're regrouping and working on some side fun projects before going in full force with the next major project. This includes the To the Moon series card game project (https://twitter.com/freebird_games/status/1456298797991088132), which will have an announcement in the coming months as well.



TtM Animated Film:
For those asking about the animated film side of things, I've recently received some updates about its progress -- nothing that can be disclosed yet, but it is moving forward through the stages. Hoping to be able to say more about it in the future, but in the mean time, rest assured that it is moving.

Lofi Music Series:

Update October 7th

Heya, Sturm here again!
With this update, we bring you:

- A language selection screen that now remembers your choice in between sessions (the screen is still accessible at any time from the title menu, bottom right corner)
- A more comprehensive error message in case your driver doesn't meet the OpenGL requirements
- The game now always preferring to be ran on the dedicated GPU in case of dual GPU setups
- Game / window icons for Windows and Linux
- A true 64 bit build for Windows, accessible via launch option for now
- Cross platform save syncing via the Steam cloud

(Thanks to Kan and Ali for also helping out)

With this update, we are finally at the point of quality that we originally wanted to be at for the initial release last week; apologies for the delay. GOG and other storefront releases also shouldn't be far off now.

And next up, I will start working on the implementation of integer scaling, for prettier and happier pixels on your screen! So look forward to that~

Update notes October 2nd

Heya all, Sturm here;

the update adds two unrelated things:

- for dual GPU setups (mostly laptops), the windows version will now request to be run on the dedicated GPU by default; this should hopefully fix any "green flickering" effects people were seeing due to poorly engineered and buggy Intel drivers

- Launch options for the "Bestest Dancers" comics have been added that will open your file browser automatically, so you don't have to go the "Browse Local Files" route anymore

IF Release Window Update & Details (Multi-language launch ~early September)

Sooo the good news is that while my release date estimates are crap upfront, it gradually gets more and more accurate the closer we get to the end! And we're really quite close.



Here's the situation: Right now most of the game is completed, and the things left to do are: The final montage sequence, pre-credit sequence, credit sequence, and revisions/polish for the last 1/3 of the game (we've been doing private demo release & feedback polishing throughout the years of development already, so I'm fairly happy with earlier parts already).

Additionally, at this point, all the parts of the game with dialogues are essentially completed; so this week I'll be cleaning up an internal build with all existing dialogue content for Andrii, who helped organize the localization for Finding Paradise. This time we'll be attempting to have multiple languages at launch as opposed to only in English like before, likely including: German, French, Spanish (European + LatAm), Portuguese Brazilian (+Portuguese), Korean, Chinese, Russian, Italian -- so we'll be trying to work with Andrii and his teams in a more organized way compared to the community translation system from before.

The plan is that as the localization process is being started, we'll then go back to finish the last montage and pre/credit sequences, as well as cleaning up anything else left. All in all, I'm currently looking at finishing up everything content-wise in August, and launching around early September.



As always, thanks for the patience guys. To be honest, the delays to all of To the Moon, Finding Paradise, and perhaps this game, although annoying, are some of the biggest factors that contributed to them being able to fulfill their potential. Although planning issues are a part of it, a large part of the poor estimates and delays are actually due to the flexibility to work with ideas and opportunities that come up during development that didn't occur at the initial planning stage. And unlike a lot of larger and more rigid projects, the freedom to pivot and refine things freely has been so key to realizing what the series is capable of.

So to sum it up: The team and I are working hard to wrap this up in a couple of months, and we'll try our best to ensure Impostor Factory makes the wait worthwhile even if we have to kill Neil.

Official SigCorp comic to be released with IF!

Hey folks, I'm excited to announce that with the release of Impostor Factory next year, we will be simultaneously releasing a 50+ pages comic featuring the SigCorp doctors.

The comic will be illustrated by Del (@Eastxide), with the stories written by both of us.



It will contain numerous segments, including light hearted stories and more serious ones.

Similar to the last comic, Paper Memories, it will be made available publicly for free, and also as a voluntary purchasable dlc to the game on Steam for those who're able to support the project.



And yup, it will also have a physical print run available at Freebird's bigcartel page for the collectors. d-(' ' d-)
