Indeed, we're too small a team (3 people) to regularly update Bad Dreams on all platforms. We've therefore decided to withdraw "Bad Dreams" from the Store very soon, to come back even stronger with "Very Bad Dreams", which will benefit from all the improvements made to the PSVR2 version. Of course, all purchasers of the first version will receive a free key to download Very Bad Dreams. We're sorry for the inconvenience, but we believe this is the best way to bring you the best version of the game available as quickly as possible. Hi Everibody, We are so sorry, we just see that we have uploaded the wrong build on Steam (currently it's just a part of the Demo version), it's now fixed. Important information, We have only good news for you... Players! Following the survey carried out on Forms, we decided to listen to you before moving on to the rest of the development. Bad Dreams didn't sell hugely on Steam and so we are focusing on console ports (PSVR1 & PSVR2) as well as Quest 2 to reach more players. Given the satisfactory lifespan of the game and our lack of funding, we are forced to separate Bad Dreams into two distinct parts. That said, all players who purchased the 1st before March 1st will be able to have the 2nd for free. We continue to update the first part of Bad Dreams to fix bugs, polish game mechanics and its atmosphere. We also plan to add a new wave mode in the first opus to relegate the following levels in the second episode. We are also preparing some surprises that we will reveal as we go along. The price of the game will also go down. Admittedly, part 2 will arrive a little later than expected, but the sales of the game on other platforms will allow us to go even further in the content that we will offer you, you will not be disappointed to have waited longer, we promise you! This week we worked a lot on marketing so this patch is very small but it includes the introduction of subtitles into the game for 2 voice-over : our first cinematic and the radio tape in Chapter 3.1 (Dive Into Darkness). Our goal is to make the game's narrative accessible to all our players and we're going that way step by step. - Graphic options with 3 quality levels (low, medium & high). Bad Dreams is designed for medium. - Hold Behavior option for objects, you can choose Hold Down or Toggle (this doesn't take affect with important objects that cant be dropped) - There's now an option to reset all game datas. This could be helpfull. - At the first launch of the game, you will now be asked if you ever played the demo. This is used to reset your datas because save files from the Demo could break your experience and cause big issues. - Improving of the last staging at the end (end of Chapter 4.1) - We fixed brightness issues on the beach to help player go through the tutorial - We added some tips at the beginning (beach and hotel) - In the limbos, the Brain could kill the player through the wall. This is fixed ! - Minor fixs (colliders, clippings, artefacts etc..)
Update :
- We changed some interface and tips font for better lisibility.
- At the end of the limbos, it happened that the right hand of the player is broken. It is fixed !
- In the limbos, there were some missing colliders and player could fall off the level. It is fixed !
- In the limbos, big bad brain was clipping at some point. This is fixed !
- In Chapter 1.3, player had the possibily to not enter the bedroom at the end. We enlarged the push collider to avoid this unwanted situation.
- We made some staging improvements in chapter 2.3.
- Bad Dream's book was hard to manipulate, we've made some improvements on its mechanism (specially for turning pages)
- In chapter 3.1, some grabbable objects were buggy, it is fixed.
- Left hand had some issues with animations (index pointing and thumb). This is now fixed.
- A small delay was added to our keypads to prevent spamming entries and doublepress. We also made buttons larger in a spirit of usability.
- Holsters colliders/areas (torso and backpack sides) are now smaller. Users had issues with those and grabbed their object instead of interacting with something.
- An option was added to manage snap rotations (how many degrees in one turn).
- Level sequencing was improved. You can know play a level again.
- We added toggle for sprinting. You need now to click once the stick so start running. Running state will end if you stops moving.
- We added a menu in the bedroom's hotel level.
- We fixed some issue with the spawner in Chapter 3.2
- In chapter 4.1 we fixed a lot of things : the witch wasn't here if the player fall behind the platform. We fixed the staging at the end with the Butcher & the Witch.

Launch Update 18/12 : Hi everyone. First we would like to thank those who played to Bad Dreams and gave us feedbacks, suggestions, visibility and encouragements. Since the launch, we have been working on fixing bugs, some of them critical, that affect the quality of the experience. CRITICAL : - Player is spawning out of the map in Mental Maze. This is fixed, player should spawn at the right spot. - In Twisted Minds, we've worked on lootboxs and added some weapons for the player. OTHER : - Player has lost the glowstick on the ground in Last Light. Grabbable glowstick can now be grabbed from a distance. - At the end of Last Light, player was not shrinked. Fixed ! - At the end of Last Light, there was no feedback when the player did the Head Cover Gesture. Fixed, it was really important because player was lost about what was going on. - When you shrink, there is a lot of decals with grey backgrounds. Those are fixed ! - Transitions at the end of Last Light was rough. We fixed the fade to black. - We changed the overlay color when the player is going mad. Blue was interpreted as cold so we made it purple. - In Health Check Up, handwheels were really hard to manipulate. It had to be catch from top. This is fixed, its way easier to use now. The last one which had collision issues is fixed as well. - In Health Check Up, the end of the level was weird. Timing was wrong. Fixed. - In Health Check Up, seryngue dissapeared when put in the backpack. Fixed. - In Health Check Up, gas mask dissapeared after the chase with the Doctor. Fixed ! - In Health Check Up, player can hear the gas after the elevator. It's now gone. - In It Isn't Real, if Player removed its hands from the head before Head Cover Gesture was finished, visual effects was not removed. Fixed ! - In It Isn't Real, Player can't put the gas mask on its head. Fixed ! - In Dive Into Darkness, player can go through the wall with a hole and be blocked. Fixed. - In Dive Into Darkness, heavy zombie runned through walls. This one was supposed to be asleep at this point. Hi everyone, hope you're doing fine during this hot summer. We are doing this announcement to talk about our progress but also to announce our presence at the Steam VR Fest. This kind of event is a big opportunity for us. A new demo of Bad Dreams will be available on Steam during the Steam VR Fest from 18 to 25 of July. Our team tried its best to came up with this horror experience. With our indie team, we are working on this game for almost 2 years. Player The player was really tricky since we're attempting to offer a full body solution. We added a whole animation system that gives more immersion and we finally succeeded to smooth the body postures according to hands positions & rotations. We're still working on the hands to make them beautifull but we didn't had time to integrate them yet. This new mecanism was tested but can still show some bugs so don't hesitate to report them. Large scale optimisation Our devs worked hard on multiple aspects of our game's optimisation : They improved our many shaders, redesigned the AI system & fixed a big amount of scripts. New staging We redesigned and added some staging & cinematics. Renew of the madness system We add wristband that indicates the level of madness with a light and a bip. The faster it is, the craziest you are. The player has a cigarettes pack on his chest and he can smoke cigarette to diminish his madness. The madness is managed differently than before and is more scripted to offer a more balanced experience. New grab & ungrab system That fixes some bugs with physics & hands positions. Now, when the player is forced to ungrab, the hands resume their original pose. It is way more complicated than it sounds but we're still working on this. Add some puzzles into our levels Surprise ! We wanted to add "specials" things. New special level : the Maze Redesign of the "Hotel Room" as a "Lobby" that the player will see more than one time. We integrated some puzzles inside the room itself. Integration of our narrative design & back story Bad Dreams has a story that goes beyond zombies and nightmares. It is linked to an event that shook but and entire nation before the 80's. We started to integrate this story in our environments but also in some items that the player will find. Stay aware to understand this spun metaphor that glues every pieces together. __________________________________ It is true that this may not seem like much, but we only note here the work that has been done on the demo. We also worked a lot on the part of Bad Dreams that's not in this demo. All of our levels are in place and the major part of our gameplay is here but we need a lot of tests and fixes without even talking about balance. This is the biggest project of our studio. We're taking our time to shape the best horror game that we can make. Even if it was tested, again & again, you can experience some bugs during your play session. Your eyelids are heavy, your muscles relax, the sound of the television fades away to fatigue after a hard day at work. You embrace the arms of Morpheus and dive deep into the infinity of your imagination.
You wake up on an idyllic white sandy beach. A light breeze makes you shiver as the sun sets on the horizon. After a peaceful walk along the beach, you discover a huge dark bunker gate, which opens as you approach, inviting you to come in.
Your curiosity takes over and you decide to explore the place, revealing a wide underground complex. But what started as a perfect dream quickly turns into a bad one when you realized you're not alone in here.
Find your way out, explore, solve puzzles and fight for your survival. Or your sanity.
Bad Dreams is not a game that should be played by everybody. It’s a unique experience filled with horrors and secrets. So be ready to face your darkest dream. But never. Ever. FALL INTO MADNESS.
Bad Dreams is a VR Horror game developed by French indie studio with outstanding and immersive gameplay based on real gesture. A unique experience, where nightmares become reality.
Immersives controls :
Bad Dreams will put all your senses to the test. Look, listen, smell, touch, run around... Don't forget to do all this quietly because the evil is lurking, a strange evil that can't be silenced without taking your head with both hands... Use your VR controllers like never before. Pinch your nose to avoid mortal gaz, cover your ears to save your spirit from madness...
Limbos :
In Bad Dreams, you must watch your sanity gauge very carefully and keep it as low as possible. If you don't, insanity will take hold of you, and you will fall into limbo. A place where only the worst nightmares manifest. Run for your life to escape this hell and pick up right where you lost your mind.
Explore :
Use flashlight or matches to explore a dark underground network. Crouch and be quiet to avoid unnecessary fight. Pray to take the good path or die and try again. Do not forget your flashlight battery or embrace the darkness and its subjects.
Fight :
A horde of zombies, mutants and atrocities will come to haunt you throughout the game. Fortunately for you, there is a large choice of weapons and how to use them: kill, maim, and burn the monsters to save your life.
Puzzles :
Your path will be filled with puzzles to solve. Some of which would seem simple at first… But not when you’re under attack and creatures are roaring behind you. Thrilling moments guaranteed.
Hard choices :
In this game, you will have to choose which tool or weapon you'll carry. You can carry one thing per hand and your inventory will offer you two slot so use it wisely.
