Version 0.9 The simplification update
[ 2021-10-22 14:51:38 CET ] [ Original post ]
This update has been about simplification. I realised that One Million Worlds was simply too complicated for players to actually play (I think Ive known that for a while but wasnt sure what to do about it) and this update looks to improve that situation. That means the same machines should be buildable but One Million Worlds will take on the hard work of wiring them up "right" The simplification features in this release are:
- Thrusters no longer need to be connected to wires to work, simply putting them in a machines, sit in a command chair and press the WSAD keys and the game will figure out for itself which keys to fire to move the ship. See more details at this article
- Similar to thrusters, energy projectors that are autocontrolled without wires, just pressing the space bar will fire them
- Omni directional energy projectors will auto target hostile mobs/machines without needing wiring
- An Anti Grav block is now all that's needed for a ship, stabilisation is automatically provided (meaning the stabilisation block has been removed from the game)
- The intro has been improved to showcase the new simplified ship building
- Gantry crane room has been simplified by popular demand
- Flowing water sources
- General bug fixes and performance improvements

- One Million Worlds Linux [700.99 M]
Game is not tagged as available on Linux on Steam.
Linux is not in the OS list.
One Million Worlds is a block world, but unlike other block worlds it's not focused on buildings and architecture but on machines and movement.
Want to build a space ship that works? Absolutely!
Want to build a hidden landing pad for it that opens up from the hillside? You can have that to!
Want a tree to actually fall over when you cut it down (you'd think that would go without saying)? Obviously!
One Million Worlds is a blockworld with physics which means you can create things that not only look cool but are cool, because they work. Things like this:

But you can start small and simple

That's a ship, really simple, could be put together in a couple of minutes, and that can fly!
The game is built with simple pieces that let you build whatever machines you can imagine; thrusters, rails, axels and then you can wire them up so they all behave and work how you want them to. There are even command chairs that bind to the keyboard keys so the machines you build can work just like built-in vehicles in other games.
That said, not everything is going to be your friend...
.
Maybe its time to add some weapons to your ships.

- A game without preset models where you can build whatever you can imagine, and make it work as well.
- A world with computer controlled machines and creatures (when the game is fully released it will be "filled with" for now its just "with").
- Computer controlled machines are built from blocks, so you can re-purpose them for your own use, or if you destroy them they are destroyed realistically.
