Apologies on the delay for this community update. I had a lot of personal stuff come up that I dont have go into. I will be removing the next update by date for Entodrive. I'm learning a lot about balance and being kind to myself this year after releasing 3 games on my own. Most of my attention going forward will be towards future projects like Spryward, but dont be surprised if you see some Entodrive updates sprinkled out through Spryward's early access. I do have a fun Entodrive related project in the works. Be sure to follow the other games in the Apastron universe for a continuation of the story and hints for the future of Entodrive. My family is getting a Steam Deck this week, so I'll be able to work on specific Entodrive improvements/optimizations for it. Thanks for reading/playing! Note from dev :


This will be the last devlog for the game! This doesn't mean updates will stop. As we transition from early access to the full Steam release version update patch notes will be titled community update. You can still expect to see a next update by date on the main menu even after release. The time between updates will be longer, but I do have some fun things planned for after release. Starting next week the ending of the Time of Crisis Tie-in event will be live for all players. The Forever Corporation steps in when you're casted as an outlaw. It all comes down to one final battle in the newsroom. Take on Mandervack the Dark as he continues to frame you for the murder of Max Jai. Thank you everyone again for all the support during early access. I'm super proud of how the game has turned out and I hope you enjoyed the journey! Full trailer for the complete version of the game drops tomorrow. This week is your last time to get the early access supporter achievement!

+New battle background +New music for Red Jungle +New rival battle w/ Mandervack the Dark +Updated crew battle music w/ more instruments +You can now enter Kendra's home and talk to her on Escher Road +Splash FX now plays when entering water +Improved Controller Button Navigation +Restricted movement from clicking away from move selection confirmation to prevent accidently hitting escape. +The start button on controllers now open the menu in addition to pressing Y +Added functional on screen virtual D-Pad, A, and B buttons for Windows / Linux tablets in input menu +Made sure all battle buttons function with touch screen Dev Note : I had to upgrade the version of Unity I was using to be able to upload Entodrive to my source control. With that Unity broke the lighting in all the levels. I went back and redid the lighting in most if not all levels. I could have missed a level or small scene, so while playing if you notice any weird lighting let me know. The cave / interior levels seemed unaffected by the change. It is possible upgrading broke things that I am unaware, so if you encounter any new issues please lmk. Thanks everyone have a great weekend!

+Linux Support Please let me know how the Linux build plays. I don't really have a proper setup to test on Linux. I have a very old laptop that runs Mint and was able to start a new game. My main concern is with Steam cloud and our saves. I haven't managed to successfully transfer my pc save over via steam cloud to the linux build. If you managed to do so with the current setup please let know. What I've been working on :

Playing into the new mining mechanics added last week, I am going to make Entodrive that are only obtainable through mining. Here is a peak at 2 obtained through collecting specific mining items. Bringing the corresponding mine items to their respective rocks will generate specific Entodrive at level 40. More updates on included Entodrive and mining guides coming in December. Fiddleweaf - Floral - Upgrades to Reefmopper at level 50
Reefmopper - Floral / Magic
Dowshell - Aqua / Ore - Upgrades to Mortoise at level 50
Mortoise - Aqua / Ingot
New items : Burning Heart
Freezemite
Frozen Core
Cosmic Core
Mystery Pineapple
How will bartering work? NPCs will request specific combinations of salvageable items. Upon bringing them the NPC will swap out the salvage for a special item. These items will play into customizing your own server building that I'll share more about in December. This will mostly be a post game mechanic. I will eventually make it possible to hack salvage only monsters before beating the game.

Magic Town is getting a little more spooky. The pumpkin harvest event will take place starting now and every October after. During October Magic Town is getting special pumpkin patches. Where have I been?


I've been working on the last expansion for Apastron. Entodrive is a game that takes place in the Apastron universe. For Apastron's last expansion Time of Crisis I decided to have Max Jai join the crossover. This event will have ramifications for the continuity for the entire Apastron universe. In the next coming months I'll be working on the Time of Crisis tie-in for Entodrive. I'm really excited for how this will impact Entodrive's story. What I've been working on :


Fixed ice bug where player would shoot past the dialogue causing it to cancel causing future dialogue errors. Caught up with fixing spelling errors documented in the forums Fixed incorect ability for assignment for certain moves on specific monsters. Monster changes: Afteroth SpDefense+ Zapyork SpAttack+ Wraithcaper Attack+ Wraithcaper SpAttack- Woolly Attack+ Woolfray SpAttack+ Woolfray Defense- Woolfray Speed+ Woolfray Hp+ Woolfray +Iron Fracture Woolfray +Ambitious Strike Sweeplighter Attack- Surgeos Speed- Starkite +Drama Wave Lucharock Hp- Removal of previous render pipeline. The previous render pipeline I had installed to Entodrive's project was causing errors for older GPU models. I'm planning on improving the rendering for Entodrive in the future. Possibly adding some post proccessing features to replace the pipeline. I hope to add ambient occlusion, bloom, and other various options for the pause menu in the future. Adjusted the escape mechanic so if you are higher level than your wild encounter you will always escape. Added more missing back sprites. What I've been working on :


More optimization improvements for, Fish Spot, Fantom Tower, Javapool, Champion's Path, and Crystal Town Fixed occlusion in Crystal Town Added the Entodrive World Championship! Added more achievements Added an escape from wild battles The main story of the game is now playable from start to finish! These means the game is 75% done! I never expected to get this far in development so quickly! There is still a long road ahead. Still tons of new areas to explore and Entodrive to hack. I'm thankful for getting this far, so now I can focus on more of the under the hood improvements that Entodrive still needs. At the rate the development and improvements have been coming I see Entodrive exiting early access sometime in January. I'm really excited to begin working on the postgame content! Thank you again to everyone and anyone who's supported or checked out Entodrive while in early access! Making it this far wouldn't have been possible without you!

What I've been working on :



+Added the XPLink, which can be enabled when you get the key item and enter your storage system +The XPLink shares half of the gained experience in battle to the other 3 slots in your crew! +You can now enter the Lighthouse in Spark harbor after the powerplant event! +The lighthouse tournament is the event where you get the XPLink! +For players who want to have an XPLink at the start of a new game go to the debug menu! :) +SaveManager Fixes : Refactoring - SetIntHapSave, for setting instance variables like gamestate that increment when conditions are greater than the previous state. Before it was casting save information rather than calling my getintsave function which returns the save values without an extra cast. This would sometimes cause a null ref error forcing a crash. Error State Prevention - It's painful to watch a streamer try to play your game, but the game bumps them into an error state reloading the scene as is, and sets the save file to an empty one. It's rough.. I've determined that there are some gameobjects that when searching for a save key value pair would do so after the save manager had either already started switching levels or would be in the middle of saving something. To prevent I've added more protection cases for saving. The game will no longer save if connection to the save script is loss. This could happen from alt tab and scripts not loading in correctly causing the save manager to enter an error state and save data as nothing. Now if the save attempts to save file as nothing and it isn't the new game function it will cancel the save. Clicking the save button in some cases will now fix the error state and reconnect the save script. Likewise exiting the game and relaunching should as well.. Your mileage may very. If you are a user struggling with save issues, please lmk how these changes effect your game. +Optimizations Fixes : Rebuilt occlusion for some scenes. Removed background clutter that would cause crashes. Removed background grass that would in some cases remain active Removed background geometry that wasn't actually visible. Removal of mandatory get component calls for scene optimization (this will need more work.) +Added new music for the new lighthouse map +Added new battle background for the lighthouse map +Changed NPC Talking SFX to be less awful +Increased Defeat Text lifetime in battle +Fixed error where xp gained doubled mid battle +Updated the walkthrough guide, so it is now accurate to all the content currently in the game! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2472674974

What I've been working on :


Mystery Tunnel improvements Mystery tunnel now connects to the Python Underground Beowarmth can be battled in the Mystery tunnel after the Apex Castle event is completed. Fixed error where if your monster is slower than the enemy and the enemy would miss it would skip your turn. Fixed error where monsters of the same speed could skip each others turns. Improved Exp Bar Scaling Added Help tab on Main Menu Improved Fantom Tower Music Added Vs Void Mystical Music Fixed error in Mystery tunnel where incorrect monster images were displayed Removed Enlighten a deprecated lighting feature in Unity that was causing crashes with certain GPUs Fixed error where library kid battle would keep 2 instances of the character causing sprite overlap Fixed error where Tribolt is not faceable if you save and quit out before facing him. I removed all prints and debug.log statements from the project. These were used to locate bugs and issues by being able to track what the game was doing. No more information is being documented to the player log unless an error is reached. This will help with performance. Fixed bug where crashing to main menu would cause the save file to be lost and the main menu to rewrite it with a blank file. Now nothing on the main menu sets the save except new game and the help button. Added missing shader to graphics settings which was causing crashes for older DirectX users. Added loading screen on main menu Increased catch rate for early Entodrive like Thunion and Tomceae More move consistency and text alignment improvements Worked on fixing a bug where the savemanager will duplicate after traveling from certain levels and could cause a save wipe. I believe I've done a lot to prevent this, but if you have some method of reproducing this bug please lmk. Changed script execution priority so that the save script will now always execute first. Some errors / crashes were created when other scripts ran before the save script. Dispersed more upgrade stones throughout Cache Isle w/ rng respawners Fixed bug where base stat in storage menu was displaying base attack as base special attack Fixed bug where floral transfer for enemies wouldn't steal hp from user.

Plot :

Play as one of the developer's for Entodrive AR. An augmented reality game that was made to gamify an outbreak of computer viruses. Your partner in development Max Jai was the face of business, but never got his hands dirty to develop the game. He calls upon your help when realizing Entodrive aren't behaving how they were programed. Entodrive begin attacking and possessing objects in the real world. The Entodrive have become something more than you intended. It is up to you and Max Jai to go on a quest to rediscover what Entodrive means to the people of Cache Isle and save them from Entodrive related incidents. This game takes place in the Apastron universe.
