Update released (v4.3.1)! |
Hi all,
There are some visual improvements and a couple of new features:
- update: shop tutorial in presentation dialog
- update: permanent wounds can be cured (for 100 gp)
- update: Demon's Lover campaign has more gold (6.2k to 8.5k)
- update: Deathseeker/Master difficulties differ only in disabled save games and enabled permanent wounds
- update: Blinded is -2 Attack and -3 Ranged Attack
- update: Enhanced Weapon/Armour upgrades cost gold as well as experience
- update: Summoned imps and terrors can break free (no more summons spamming)
- bugfix: hidden items are not visibly targetable by area attacks (e.g. Fireball), but will be hit anyway. Once damaged, marker will show
- bugfix: conversations were sometimes messing up units stats (race condition)
AOF3 is coming all together quite nicely. I have already asked for making video trailer. I am still adding more extra bits, but from our side it's just polishing story, testing and balance only (but it takes more time than you think!)
Valve has updated its shop layout and algorithms, you can read it about there:

Consensus between indie devs is that it lowered their sales somewhere around -25% to -30%. However, as so far we haven't been affected by this - I don't really know why. I see two explanations:
- AOF series has very supportive community and it's not that dependant on Steam exposure algorithms. Many thanks to all you guys!
- Age of Fear is quite unique product even in its own niche. There are only a handful of games with similar and most of them are quite dated and no longer developed.
- We have had a couple of new features released over X-Mas period and that's probably shielded us (i.e. keeping game fresh).
Thank you guys and have a nice week!
Les
