Patch 3 saw the introduction of a large crashed transport plane event, gamepad support and a completely overhauled in-game vehicle system. We fixed some of the remaining bugs in Hotfix 1; only the most significant edits remained, which took us almost 2 months to implement. Hotfix 2 - released today - includes fixes for critical bugs, localization fixes and several UI improvements.
Employees, today we collaborated with beautiful people from Gamedec, Children Of Morta and Beautiful Desolation teams to create one of the best RPG bundles.
From March 9 to 23 you can buy four award-winning titles with a 25% discount.
And if you already own any of the games in the set, complete your collection with the remaining titles at a greatly reduced price.

The last patch was a real test for the team weve added gamepad support, new content, expanded on car mechanics, and added a Linux version. And, of course, bug fixes.
In today's hotfix, we've addressed a few bugs that have been discovered, and also made some cosmetic changes to the game regarding sound and level design. The list of fixes and improvements is provided below.
Critical errors
The full version of Encased was released in September and weve since introduced several hotfixes - and a couple of major patches - where we thoroughly worked on the UI, optimisation, level design and other aspects of the game. But all of this (with the exception of the special Halloween patch) was related to the content that was already in the game. That's great, but how about something new? Such as what we promised during our kickstarter campaign.
With this in mind, we started developing Patch 3. Today we are happy to present it to you and let you know what awaits you in the first (but not last!) large-scale Encased update.
Hello, we hope that youve had a fantastic New Year and are all set to venture under the Dome in the company of your faithful companions. Today's issue will be short but very important.
Dear subscribers! The latest issue of the post-apocalyptic CRONUS Weekly is, once more, on your screen. Can anyone hear us?
Today well talk about the near-future of Encased.
It's been two months since Encased was released. During this time, we have significantly improved stability, added more reputation events, fixed many bugs and typos. We have also published a roadmap for the games further development. By New Year, another patch will be released containing special events for vehicles (including Ursula), balance tweaks and a number of "quality of life" changes.
As for today's hotfix, weve added a small number of fixes and disabled the Halloween event. Keep in mind that the merchant named Sylvia Halen will be staying in the City and will continue to give rewards in exchange for Cursed Seeds, but the pumpkin-headed skeletons will disappear from the game until next year.
As for the edits made to the game, here is the list:

Today we're going to talk about how the inhabitants of the world under the Dome got their own voices and remind you about the Halloween discounts.
This October turned out very stressful as we finished work on the latest patch and sat back to relax, a new one was on its way. This time we fixed many bugs and added a special event in honor of All Saints Day: the Barrens are now overrun with pumpkin-headed skeletons, and a special merchant was sighted in the City. But, first things first.
Employees: the Dome is once again in danger and it is far more terrifying than any anomaly. On 28 October, the dead will rise from their graves and hunt the living.
Fight the undead and gain cursed seeds for your victories. You can exchange these for a valuable artifact or useful equipment from a new merchant.
Survivors will receive a unique pumpkin helmet; it can be upgraded up to three levels, using the seeds of the dead and other resources.
To get some of the valuable prizes, you will have to meet the Halloween Merchant who is waiting for you in the heart of New Committee City. She sells not only the usual first aid kits and anti-radiation drugs, but also a new valuable artifact available for purchase only in exchange for cursed seeds.
By the way, the merchant will remain in the world under the Dome even after the Halloween event ends, so if you forget to sell the seeds before the end of the event, fear not. However, the skeletons WILL disappear from the game and you so will not be able to get new seeds once the event ends.
Also, to celebrate Halloween, we'll stream via Steam, showing off new content and trying to answer the most interesting questions. Stream will be held at 19:00 CEST on 28 October. See you there!

This week, well be telling players what they can expect in the coming months. Short for time? In that case, here's a little road map of the Encased train.
Version number: 1.1.1013.1238
As you probably already noticed, the work on Patch 1 took a little delay, but there are objective reasons for this there really are a lot of changes and improvements. In addition to fixing the voiceover, incorrect descriptions, bugs and typos, we focused on improving the user experience: a lot of changes were made to the game interface, balance, mechanics and, of course, optimizations now the game runs faster and a little more stable. This is partly attributable to you, Dear Players, as many errors in the game have been fixed thanks to your bug reports.
We also listen closely to the suggestions you offer across our social networks. Thank you for your words of support and well-reasoned criticism. And above all, thank you for staying with us it matters a lot to us.
Warning: fix descriptions may contain plot spoilers!

Today let's talk about post-release updates under the Dome, unprecedented community support, and, of course, plans for the future.
More than two weeks have passed since Encased came out. We are continuing to actively work on the game and develop additional content (which we will announce separately), finalize controversial issues and, of course, read your reports and fix bugs.
However, today's hotfix is special: not only have we eliminated a number of problems, but weve also added the function that you have been asking for - the ability to select a custom portrait for the protagonist. The game supports * .jpg and * .png formats, however, we recommend using * .png with transparency so that the background of the location is displayed behind your character's back.

The recent Encased hotfix released a week ago fixed the most annoying and noticeable bugs that interfered with the comfortable playthrough, and also introduced a number of cosmetic fixes, mostly voice acting and localization. Nevertheless, we received a fairly large number of reports from our players regarding not bugs but the interface, game mechanics and unexpected game behavior. Many of these bugs took a long time to fix, so we included fixes for them in Hotfix 2.
Overall, the latest update turned out to be much more voluminous than the previous one, and we hope that traveling around the world of the Dome will become even more convenient.
We are beyond thrilled to make this announcement: Today Encased - the game to which we have dedicated more than three years of our lives - will be released out of early access. It's hard for us to contain our excitement and describe how important this moment is.
Weve been through the Kickstarter campaign, two years of early access, five content patches, millions of hours of early access playtime, hundreds of characters, quests, abilities, and items.
Ahead of us is a leap of faith into the final stage of the most desperate adventure of our lives!
Fellow C.R.O.N.U.S. Employees, supporters and viewers from outside the Dome,

Join us for an exciting few hours as Luci explores the Dome and tries her hand at a few of the unconventional ways to play the game.
We look forward to seeing you there!

Today we want to talk about the news on the other side of the Dome and what awaits the Encased world in the coming weeks.
Dear C.R.O.N.U.S. Employees, We are happy to announce that Encased has been nominated for the Best Role Playing Game Award at this years gamescom! If you want to check out the full list of Award Nominations, youll find it here: https://www.gamescom.global/the-gamescom/gamescom-award/ And dont forget to vote for Encased as the most anticipated game of Gamescom 2021! https://www.surveymonkey.de/r/gamescomawardconsumerawards ------------------ When a number of media outlets previewed Encased last month, we noticed that very few explored the more unique playstyles Encased has to offer. To find out why that was, we spoke with Dr. Rachel Kowert, who said: Our in-game avatars are often a means of experimenting with many possible selves, either as we are our actual self or an idealized version of ourselves. The characters we create in-game are very often closely related to who we are out of game. Theres also a personal development aspect to this too. Research at Stanford University's Virtual Human Interaction Lab found players who were helpful to NPCs in a video game were then more helpful to others in real life too. Its called the Proteus effect and yes playing video games can make you a better person; other studies have produced similar results. There is an entire field of research looking at how digital role play in video games can impact how we think and behave out of game. For example, seeing a digital version of ourselves being successful in these spaces can become a catalyst for changing thoughts and beliefs we have about ourselves. Here you can watch our new trailer showing off some of the more unusual ways you can play Encased: [previewyoutube=sGwZsKd8LAo;full][/previewyoutube] Setting your intelligence as low as possible Not talking to anyone and being permanently in the shadows Being a pacifist and only using non-lethal weapons Acting like a serial killer And if you want to learn more about Encased and the psychology behind how we play video games, take a look at this Interview between Gamereactor and Dr. Rachel Kowert here. Remember: Encased comes out 7 September! Only two more weeks to go!
