Welcome to our first Friday Devlog of 2024, and a joyous New Year to all! With the dawn of a new year in Longvinter, we're excited to unfold some big plans for our updates in the upcoming months. Stay tuned, as we'll be sharing more about our future plans in next week's devlog. Now, let's jump into some thrilling news about modding!
Modding Tools are Now Available to the Public!
We're thrilled to announce that our modding tool is now publicly accessible! This means you no longer have to fill out forms and wait for approval. The initial reason for limiting access was to prevent an influx of issues, but now that we've resolved all major problems, you can download the project directly from:
https://github.com/Uuvana-Studios/longvinter-modding
For any discussions, queries or brainstorming sessions with fellow modders and developers, head over to our Discord server at
https://discord.com/invite/longvinter. You can find us in the -modding channel.
Custom Map Contents
We initially aimed to make custom maps a reality through modding. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to realize this yet. However, we're launching a contest for the best maps that will be included in the main version of the game! We will soon provide a form to apply for the mapping contest.
Moreover, we are introducing a fresh
Spring biome that you can utilize when designing your map. But in the meantime, here is a tutorial on creating custom maps and the requirements for their inclusion in the game.
