Wipe Results and Server Update
The poll results for server wipes are finally in, and we have some important information to share with you all.
Wipe Decision
Based on the poll results, all regions except Asia have expressed a desire to wipe their servers. However, we've made some additional decisions to ensure the best gameplay experience for all:
- PVP Servers: All PVP servers will be wiped as requested by the majority of players.
- PVE Servers: We've decided not to wipe most PVE servers, as base building is more enjoyable with abundant resources.
- Asia Servers: Despite the poll results, we will be wiping some Asia servers due to stability issues caused by the high volume of placed objects.
Reasoning Behind Our Decisions
We didn't initially distinguish between PVP and PVE servers in our poll, but we've made an educated decision based on player feedback and gameplay patterns. PVP players generally seem more eager for a fresh start. For Asia servers, the sheer amount of placed objects is causing instability issues with the Unreal Engine. We've selected specific servers that are unlikely to run stably until the global wipe in February.
Servers to be Wiped on November 27th
12PM - 1PM UTC TIME 12PM - 1PM UTC TIME Here's the full list of servers that will be wiped:
Asia:
- [KR] Uuvana 4 [Monthly Wipe]
- [KR] Uuvana 1
- [KR] Uuvana #PVE 3
North America:
- [US-WEST] Uuvana 1
- [US-EAST] Uuvana 2 [Monthly Wipe]
South America:
- [South America] Uuvana 1
Europe:
- [EU-WEST] Uuvana 1
Oceania:
- [AU] Uuvana 1
What This Means for You
If your server is on this list, prepare for a fresh start on November 27th. If not, your progress will be preserved until the global wipe in February. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to provide the best possible experience for all. Thank you for your continued support!
The wipe date will be November 27th. If your region has been voted to have a wipe, it will happen on the 27th. We know players' next question will be, "What time will it be?" We will provide the exact time along with the Wipe Results (which will be announced later). We are also aware of the time zone differences between regions. We hope to see you guys live on the wipe day! PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL THE MONTLHY WIPE SERVERS WILL BE WIPED ON THE 27TH REGARDLESS HOW THE VOTE GOES.
Hotfix and update logs
- Re-implemented solution for the placeable overlapping exploit
- Updated admin logs
Steam Deck Temporary Solution
Until we find a more permanent solution for the Steam Deck issue, the community has found a workaround you can use to play Longvinter again today. Longvinter on Steam Deck, for compatibility reasons, works only with OS version 3.5.19 and not the latest one. If you wish to play Longvinter on Steam Deck, please downgrade your OS to 3.5.19. There are guides on the web that teach you how to do this. Thank you for your patience and continued support!
Hey all! As previously mentioned. Now its the time to start voting for a Server Reset!
What this means;
All the data will be removed from the server, all houses, items, compendium progress will be lost. Every player on the server will start fresh. Choose which Region do you play on, if you wish this region to have a server reset vote YES . If not vote NO. We will announce about the results later. You'll have 2 weeks time to vote. Every vote counts so please make sure to vote. Click the image below to vote.
- Fixed placeable duplication exploit when disconnecting and placing at the same time
- Fixed exploit where items not being removed from gear tab causing multiple buffs
- Added some new logs to the admin panel
- Game now checks from server for the combat status in case of mismatch. This was a likely cause of the player's inventory being missing after logging back in
Hi everyone! Hope you all have been able to get a chance at catching and getting back at the clown that has been causing mayhem in the server by stealing items. We have exciting news for you all. Longvinter now has a release date for its 1.0 update, and we also have a question about wipes that we want to ask opinions about.
Release Date for 1.0 Update
We have decided not to rush the update since we have so many new things planned for it, and we want to make it meaningful enough for all players who have already played Longvinter to try it out again and return to play. This is why we have decided to launch the 1.0 update next year on the same date that we originally launched in early access, which is February 24, 2025! This update will come with a wipe since we have made substantial changes to the economy of the fuel, and then everyone will get a chance to experience Longvinter as we would have wanted it to be experienced 3 years ago! We are aware of Steam Deck issues, but currently, we cannot reproduce the problem on our own deck, which has slowed down the troubleshooting greatly. We will look into it more next week and try to figure out what's wrong with it! Sorry for the issue taking so long to resolve.
Should We Wipe Before Christmas?
Many players in our Discord have been asking about the wipe day, and we're considering the possibility of a wipe before next year, given that the full release is still quite far off. We want to hear from you! We'll be creating a survey soon where you can voice your opinion on whether you'd prefer a wipe at the start of December or to continue playing without interruption until the full release. Importantly, we'll be gathering opinions from each region individually. For example, if the Asia region wants a wipe but the EU region doesn't, we'll only wipe the Asia servers in December. This approach allows us to cater to the preferences of different player communities. We encourage you to participate in the upcoming survey to help us make this decision. In the meantime, feel free to share your thoughts on wipes in general in the comments below. Your feedback is crucial in shaping the Longvinter experience for everyone!
New Vests and Dropping Items!
Here are the most recent updates our team has been working on: [previewyoutube=dU6oLCOw-Q4;full][/previewyoutube] We have finally made it so that placeables and items drop to the ground and don't stay floating in the air after there is nothing underneath them. This honestly should have been added last year already, but better late than never. We will make this an optional server setting behaviour so builders in PVE can still use their creativity, but for our official PVP servers, this will come as the default option.
We have just finished modeling the 3 different combat vests that will be in-game items. The image shows one of the 3 color variants we have prepared for each vest so you can trade the one you like with your neighbor. These will enable a hotkey action that makes actions in your inventory without the need for opening it:
- Reload Vest: Reloads ammo from your inventory to your weapon by just pressing the hotkey.
- Weapon Vest: Allows you to change weapons in your inventory quickly by just pressing the hotkey.
- Food Pouch: When pressed, allows you to eat food in your inventory quickly.
For a limited time only, we're thrilled to offer an exclusive cross-game cosmetic item in Longvinter to celebrate the launch of our second game, HOUND: AUTOMATON, today, October 21st!
The body and the head will be available for players to obtain for 1 month period.

How do you obtain the cosmetic items?

Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to commemorate the launch with a special item that bridges these two gaming experiences. Join the celebration and immerse yourself in the excitement!
We assure you that most of our team is still focused on the upcoming 1.0 update. We've just finished implementing the oil rigs and are now moving on to combat vests!
Greetings, everyone!
The air is filled with a chilling vibe as we usher in this year's Halloween event a time of spooky surprises and exclusive loot that's bound to get your pulse racing!

Lurking among the misty isles, a new-ish, ominous figure has been sighted. Could this scary fellow be linked to the treasures that await? Only the bravest will uncover the truth.
Good luck Hunting and Happy Spooky season to everyone!
Hi everyone! It's been a while since our last devlog, so let's catch up on what the team has been working on. With summer vacations wrapping up for our employees, we're back in full swing, building the next update. We also released a trailer for a new game, which is super exciting! We'd like to clarify some things people have been discussing, so let's dive in.
New Update Taking Shape
The new oil rig environments are starting to look ready, although they're still missing some new props. We wanted these areas to have puzzles and enemy NPCs like the mines, so they've taken quite a lot of time for 3D modeling and level design. Here's an update video showcasing one of the three new oil rig locations we're cooking up: [previewyoutube=ilfgg-JlnSQ;full][Update video][/previewyoutube] We're also preparing to add three vests you can wear in the game. These will give you quick access to certain items in your inventory without opening it. For example, we're planning a reload vest that lets you reload by just pressing an action button, automatically loading ammo from your inventory into your weapon. For those wondering, the next update will come with a wipe because we're making big changes to fuel and want the economy on servers to start fresh with these new changes.
Autumn Tackle Box
We're still figuring out how to get everything ready before the next update. We're considering limiting the autumn tackle box to a small collection of items or possibly skipping the box for now and focusing on adding things to a future update.
Longvinter Leaving Early Access
That's right! Some of you may have put two and two together and realized that as we prepare to launch a new game, we're also finally leaving Early Access. We know the game isn't bug-free, but we've achieved a lot with server performance. The game is in a completely different state compared to when we first launched. The game's various mechanics, items, and systems working together have created an environment where small changes can break things in unexpected places. This has been a big project for our small team, but we've learned a lot. We'll continue ironing out issues and bring you the most stable Longvinter experience yet with the full release. There are still problems with containers not spawning after server restarts, but we've been steadily fixing issues and will continue to do so in the future. We haven't wiped the servers in almost three months, so some problems are just now showing up since we haven't run servers without a wipe for this long.
What's After Early Access?
We've already planned at least two more content updates for the game after the official launch, so don't worry there will be plenty of new things to experience on Longvinter island! We've completed all the features we made public in our first roadmap last year, and we'll continue developing new content. After oil rigs, new mounts, and animals are in the game, we're planning a full farming update with a new buildable barn and tameable animals. We're excited to share more info when we have the details ready. We also want to add more endgame content for our dedicated players who speedrun the game's compendium and other features. We're reading your suggestions on Discord and adding suitable ideas to our progress tracker for future implementation. There's sometimes a big time frame between adding a suggestion and deciding whether to include it in a future update, but we read all of them and will continue to do so. Keep the suggestions coming! Thank you, and see you all on Longvinter island!
Welcome!
We've just opened our first Hardcore servers in US, EU and ASIA regions!

Hi all. It's been a while since our last update, but we wanted to share what the team has been working on. Despite some team members taking summer vacations at different times, work has continued steadily.
New update is in the works
We're thrilled with the server performance improvements achieved in the 1.14 update. Seeing 150 players simultaneously on the KR 5 server was a remarkable milestone, surpassing the goal of 100-player servers that we set when we launched in Early Access.
Currently, we're focusing on two major aspects:
1. A new environment that will completely rework how fuel is obtained in the game. We'll share more details once we have things more polished. 2. Reworking the mount system and adding 5 new animals that can be obtained as mounts.
Steam Deck issues
We sincerely apologize to players using Steam Decks who have been unable to log in to the game due to an EAC error. Rest assured, we are actively working on a fix and will update you as soon as the issue is resolved. Thank you for your patience.
Prestige issues
If you upgraded your prestige and want to move over to another server, there is currently a bug in the game that prevents you from obtaining the upgrade on another server. You can easily fix this by deleting your preferences save file, which causes prestige to be resynced with your device, fixing the problem. Go to C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Longvinter\Saved\SaveGames and delete the preferences.sav file. Then, when you log back into the game, it should give you the prestige.
Introducing the hardcore server
We've been planning a new server concept that offers a unique Longvinter experience, tailored for players seeking a more challenging and rewarding gameplay. This dedicated server will accommodate up to 200 players, depending on performance. The hardcore server is designed for players who enjoy a more punishing and intense playstyle. Here are the currently proposed "rule" changes for the hardcore server (subject to change):
- No code locks on houses or tents
- Turrets can be destroyed
- Players drop half their currency on death
- Weapons deal double damage
- Energy drain from walking reduced by 80%
- Loot respawns 2x faster

Hi everyone! It has been a while since our latest update. We have been busy working to get 1.14 ready with its quality-of-life changes and some new features as well!
1.14 and a wipe on June 27th
We have made a rework to the saving system after identifying a cause that led to crashes on the servers. We have moved all the saving code to be up to date with the best practices that we have learned over 2 years. Unfortunately, this requires a full wipe when moving from 1.13 to 1.14. We are confident that the update will be ready on June 27th, and all official servers will wipe on that day. 1.14 also includes a weapon rebalance that sees a big nerf to the most popular Semi-Automatic Pistol that has dominated the kill feed for the last 2 months. More rare and expensive weapons will receive buffs, which hopefully makes using them worth the risk of losing.
Building Contest
In the meantime, while waiting for 1.14, we are announcing the second building contest, now with different brackets for modded and vanilla versions so you can really go crazy with customization. Also, the full painting features added in 1.13 will help you get the colors of your yard just right. Keep a look at our experimental channel in our Discord for updates on the experimental build. We will be announcing there when 1.14 is open for testing with full patch notes.
Longvinter is part of Steam's Open World Survival Crafting Fest, and we're celebrating with a massive 40% discount! Hi everyone! Spring has been starting super slow here in Finland, and we just received a fresh coat of snow here in Helsinki. But time goes forward nonetheless, and we have just finished the feature list for 1.14. Those can be read on our roadmap on Trello. We will be updating the progress on those in real-time so you know when to expect the new update.
Last week for tackle boxes
Spring tackle boxes have been dropping now for over a month. We have decided to stop the drops for the tackle boxes in a week, so you will have until May 6th to get tackle boxes from playing the game. We will be increasing the drop window for tackle boxes from a 2-day cooldown to a 1-day cooldown. For the rest of the month and the first week of next month, you can get a tackle box by logging in every day!
1.14 feature list
As we discussed in an earlier devlog, we now focus more on quality of life and gameplay-related changes, not new features. I would like to highlight a couple of things here, but the full list of planned changes can be read on our Trello page.
- Decay time increase We want to allow players to keep their houses for longer with minimal maintenance. For this, we plan to add a new upgrade to the LRI stations where you can buy an upgrade that extends your house decay time for another week. We feel that since servers have quite a lot of room for houses now, and introducing motors to boats has shrunk the size and made areas more accessible, we can allow players to keep their houses for longer.
- Normal stones can be broken with a pickaxe This will be a small change but allows many more options to build your house.
- More dice games We plan to have more dice games finally implemented, and we would love to hear your suggestions on simple but engaging table games that can be played with dice to be implemented.
EU server reset and KR1 placeable data loss
Unfortunately, we had a couple of incidents with the servers where errors filled up the drives of the machine unexpectedly. This resulted in the server not saving items on the server correctly or not at all. We have taken measures to clear up the server files that take too much space, and we have acquired a new backup server where we will be backing up all the saves periodically so we have the saves on at least 2 machines at all times. Thank you for reading and come say hi to us in Discord!
Hello!
Missed the Easter event? Still feeling hoppy? For a limited time only, hop into the in-game cosmetic store and grab your very own bunny hat! Don't miss out on this bouncy opportunity!
The hats will be available:
17/04/2024 - 29/04/2024
Here's your chance to support the developers and look adorably bunny-ish at the same time!
Update details
Here's the updated devlog with the changes wrapped in the Steam list format:
Update on mining rig and boat attachments
We felt like the mining rig was not up to our standards and wanted to give it more love in the style of a new information screen that explains to you in detail how much your mining rig is producing! We also made changes to how the ores drop and where you place it makes an impact. Each of the regions in the game, for example, grass, autumn, spring, and snow, have different possible ores that are included in the yields that can be mined. Boats now also have 3 new items that can be attached to them with an advanced workbench:
- 2 motors with different fuels
- A storage that allows you to pack extra for the trip or bring home a bigger fishing catch
Bug fixes
Here are also bug fixes that we managed to fix:
- Chest found from Treasure map will no longer respawn
- Fixed bug where adding batteries to mini turret would make them empty
- Fixed bug on steam inventory where keys would show up as duplicate
- Fixed an item duplication exploit when placing item
- Made farming collar harder to obtain
- Applied fix for players using exploit to create clones of themselves
Good Friday to everyone! It's been so nice seeing many of you trying out the new update and coming back to the game. I hope you have enjoyed your time on the Longvinter island. If you haven't tried the new update yet, you can still play this weekend and get an Easter bunny drop. The drops will stop on Monday, so this is your last chance! **What is coming moving forward** The next major update (1.14) will not focus on adding any new major features but rather on refining and fixing the current game to a much better state. We have prioritized adding new things over fixing existing issues because we didn't want to fix everything only for it to break again after the next update. However, we now feel that it's a good moment to pause for a second and thoroughly go through all aspects of the game to make changes that will improve it. But don't worry, we will be planning and creating new assets constantly to have a big update after 1.14! Update 1.14 will also have some new features that can be easily implemented but have a big impact. We will go over these in more detail in the coming Friday Devlogs. The launch of the 1.13 update went pretty smoothly, but there have been quite a number of issues that were found. Here is a small recap of all the bug fixes we have done after the 1.13 update:
- Fixed the spring tackle box drop table missing some items
- Fixed a bug where picking up a shop shelf made it a normal vending machine
- Fixed a bug where PVE server players could not open storage boxes that had no house near them
- Attempted to fix the violent rubber band movement of boats
- Filemon outpost now gives the correct 5Mk for wood instead of 0
- New face cosmetic items now have correct icons for female variants
- Added an image cache feature for Steam items that will make loading the Steam inventory in-game much faster
- The Farming Compendium quest can now be completed again
- Improved the character customization screen to not load everything at once to prevent crashing issues
- Fixed a shop having a wrong item in the sale tab
- Campfires in snow areas now give enough energy to heal over the snow energy drain
- Upgrading the LRI station global inventory now takes the correct amount of Mk from the player
- Fixed the Farming Compendium not being able to be completed
- Adjusted fireweed rotation
- Fixed a bug where shop vendors become normal vendors after server restart
- Fixed a bug that caused Prestige upgrades to not work on the first upgrade
- Fixed a bug that caused the container UI to remain open and unable to be closed
- Resolved an issue where players were unable to exit the house after aiming, requiring a server restart to fix
- Corrected a bug that prevented female faces from being properly selected on the character edit screen
- Added a clarifying note to the scoreboard, indicating that scores will be added to the leaderboard upon logging off
- Implemented a new script that synchronizes the stated team score with your leaderboard score (please note that you must log off for the score to be saved)
- Fixed an issue where entering the mining rig could teleport the player back to the dock, and also fixed an issue where upgrading a house could teleport the player back to Sgt. Lake
- Resolved a bug that caused ingots in the smelter to keep refilling after server restarts
- Addressed an exploit where vendors incorrectly gave score for both buying and selling (now, only selling counts towards the score, and the item must cost at least 100 Mk to be eligible; stacks of cash no longer contribute to the score; players who have gained unusually high scores using this exploit will have their scores reset for this month)
- Players who are not allowed in a home will now be teleported out to prevent tent abuse
- Fixed a bug where the mining rig would stop working after it had filled once
- Reduced the effectiveness of fishing spots in safe zones to encourage players to explore different spots outside of safe zones
- Reduced the score gained from fishing by 66% to better balance it with other activities
- Fixed the /kill timer, which should now work as intended
- Fixed a bug that allowed players to duplicate signs
- Fixed an issue where the Painting Station would not return items when the player moved away
- Fixed an infinite coal bug with the smelter
- Fixed a bug where the Team bubble would appear randomly
- Fixed a bug where the Large Dinghy showed building blocked areas even when it could be placed in them
- Improved the smoothness of the joining process
- Added another fix to boat physics (attachment replication is still broken)
- Added missing swimming sounds
- Fixed a bug that allowed players to open the cooking interface while using the workbench
- Increased the maximum price increase that players can set for vendors from 500% to 800%
- Increased the prices for water canister, mystery bag, salt, black pepper, and tarp to better match their usefulness in the game
- Added a new banning method
- Fixed a bug that prevented players from inserting items into the global vault from player shops
- Implemented a 30-second cooldown for placing tents at the start of the game to prevent abuse
- Resolved an issue where the Market, Mining Rig, and Windmill would teleport players back to the dock upon entering (players should now be able to enter these structures correctly)

- Option to toggle Q-hold view change in general settings.
- Introduced a prestige system for resetting compendium, money, and progression for additional house slots. Prestige stays with the player on other servers and is not reset when the server is wiped.
- Added more paths to upgrading the tent. It can now be upgraded to a shop, mining rig, or water mill that have unique benefits but can be raided, so beware. You are also required to have at least 1 cabin before upgrading to others.
- Improved Electrical panel functionality: View all electricity devices and set high priority for devices requiring stable electricity.
- Spring Biome introduced on the west side islands, featuring new flowers.
- Added Roaming NPC that collects items found on the map and trades them for Mk.
- House upgrades that don't change the house shape can now be uninstalled, note that resources are not gained back.
- Added ammo, sauna, and greenhouse sell limits to general vendors to prevent abuse of item duplication.

- Introduced Painting station: All placeables can now be painted using paint items at the painting station.

- Battery item in-game now has a charge level that can be charged up in the Battery Charging Station. You can put full batteries in the Battery Backup Station that provides electricity to your house if the power requirements are not met.
- New mini turret added that uses batteries to power up when not near any house. This can be destroyed by shooting. If near a house, it uses the house's electricity instead of a battery.
- Cooking compendium vendor now sells a cooking hat that increases your cooking speed.
- Cooking outfit is now given when the player gets the cooking compendium completed.
- Added a treasure map.

- Changed visual style of ping value of server while playing. Also added a server performance indicator.
- New swimming and hatchet animations.
- Raised Global inventory unlock price since the LRI stations are now more freely available.
- Adjusted backpack sizes to be roughly the same size as the starting backpack.
Weapon balance changes

Fixes
- Team scores now persist when switching teams.

- Fireplace healing is now capped to 4 concurrent to bring maximum healing effect to prevent overhealing.
Monthly scoreboard and new dynamic events
To make playing more fun, we have added a new twist to the score system we built for servers. All your achieved scores will be counted on a global leaderboard where the best players are rewarded with custom hats every month! We also added a second type of event where you need to do certain actions like fishing, cooking, farming, or mining, etc. Your actions are counted towards the goal, and if you do enough, you earn vintercoins, and the best players are also rewarded with a custom hat with a special effect.
PVE Adjustments

Hi everyone! Spring is really starting to make its presence felt, and our new update, 1.13, has been in the works for a couple of months already. We've decided to set the release date for next week, so lets dive right into the details.
Wipe & Update on March 27 at 10 AM UTC
We've scheduled the game update for next Wednesday. The reason for a mid-week update is to ensure the update is live well before the Easter holidays. This timing gives us the next full day to address the most critical issues that may arise with the update. Additionally, we're excited to introduce new cosmetics and possibly even a new tackle box filled with Spring-themed items! This update significantly reworks the building system, and as a result, we will be wiping progress on all official servers. We strongly recommend that unofficial servers do the same. This means all houses, placeables, and player progress will be reset, and everyone will start fresh, similar to servers that have "Monthly Wipe" in their name. You can already get a sneak peek of the new update in our experimental build. Here's a guide on how to get involved: Please use our Discords channel's -experimental-longvinter channel to report bugs and talk about the update!
To access the experimental servers go to Steam -> Library -> Right click Longvinter -> Properties-> Betas -> set experimental-public
Hey all!
We've got great news! First of all Longvinter is in Steam's Spring Sale, great time to invite your friends to try out the game along with the new experimental server update!
We will be updating and wiping the Experimental servers tomorrow Friday 15/03/2024.
The 1.13 update is not completely done yet, but we wish players could still try and play it on the experimental server to inform the staff about bugs and weird stuff that always comes along with larger update like this one. We will be updating the experimental version until everything is done within it.
Please use our Discords channel's -experimental-longvinter channel to report bugs and talk about the update! We will be announcing experimental updates and the exact update/wipe time in our Discord channel so be sure to check in there!

1.13 Update on the official servers
The update time and date depends on how many bug and issues will occur on the experimental servers, we will be trying to fix the most crucial ones before updating it to all the servers! Happy upcoming weekend everyone!
Hey everyone! You can now submit your own custom made maps for the "competition"! The best maps that will be included in the main version of the game! We aren't limiting the competition to a specific number of maps to be incorporated into the main game. Rest assured, if your map is of high caliber, it won't be disregarded. Our aim with this competition is to embrace the talent and creativity in the community and make it part of our game development process. Detailed instructions for creating custom maps and the criteria for their acceptance can be found in our Map Tutorial. Please note the competition does not have a end date. Share your maps HERE! For any discussions, queries or brainstorming sessions with fellow modders and developers, head over to our Discord server at https://discord.com/invite/longvinter. But we're not done. Not by a long shot. There's plenty more adventures to be had in the world of Longvinter.
Your input has been really key to all improvements, so cheers for sticking with us. Let's keep this going there's a lot more development work to do.
Hop into the game to collect the Anniversary Party hat!
Thank you, Uuvana Development team
Welcome to our latest devlog! This week, we've been hard at work planning for the upcoming 1.13 update, and we're thrilled to share that the key features are now finalized and ready to go into development!
What's New in 1.13
Customization
We're excited to build upon the new item system introduced in the 1.12 update. This system offers us greater flexibility in game code, and we're ready to leverage its full potential in the next update, starting with boat customization. You'll soon be able to personalize your dinghies, equip them with motors and storage boxes, and even color them in one of seven unique shades! We're also working on customizable weapon attachments, which will alter your weapon's handling, damage, spread, bullet velocity, and laser aiming. Moreover, we're introducing a coloring station where you can use paints (also a new addition in the upcoming update) to color all new placeable items in seven vibrant hues currently offered partially in the Allotment garden set. Here are the colors we have planned: White, Charcoal, Blue, Red, Yellow, Mint, and Blush.
New House Upgrades
We're also eager to expand the upgrade options for the new cabin. The planned upgrades will provide players with more advantages than just an ordinary cabin, but won't include code lock protection, making all stored items vulnerable to raids by other players. This is part of our strategy to balance gameplay between those who enjoy raiding and those who prefer the existing system. All new upgrades will necessitate at least one cabin placed on the map before other structures can be added. Water Mill - A water-based upgrade featuring a waterwheel for power generation and storage. (Raidable) Storefront/Trading Post - An extension of the vending machine offering more role-play and player engagement opportunities. This upgrade will also come with an overhaul of the cooking system, introducing status effects for complex recipes. (Not raidable) Gallery - An accessible building where players can display their prized trophies and items. (Raidable) Mining Rig - Extract ores from the ground. (Raidable)
Spring Biome
As we approach summer, we're also bringing Spring to Longvinter Island in the next update. Spring will introduce its own art style, a new wood type, and a unique flower to the biome.

Map Making Program
Last week we announced the launch of modding for all players, and now we're introducing a custom map making program! You'll be able to create your own map and submit it for inclusion in the game. Detailed instructions for creating custom maps and the criteria for their acceptance can be found in our Map Tutorial. Remember, the program does not have a deadline, so you can submit your creations at your leisure once it launches. We will be posting the custom map submission link to our Discord channel's -modding channel together with details what to submit. For any discussions, queries or brainstorming sessions with fellow modders and developers, head over to our Discord server at https://discord.com/invite/longvinter. You can find us in the -modding channel.
- Expanded the building block area for the Hermit Of the Mountain.
- Fixed the game crash issue when opening a Red Tackle Box without a key. Now, a pop-up window will inform the player that a key is required or suggest purchasing one.
- Corrected the description for BlackBerry Jam
- Uncooked Bird Meat will no longer display the energy icon as it cannot be consumed.
- Resolved the house dismantling problem and pushed an update.
- Implemented fire rate checks on the server.
- Ensured that dropped ammo cannot be used to spawn new ammo.
- Rectified the issue with the Vending Machine not allowing stacking of fish and certain foods due to slightly different prices.
Welcome to our first Friday Devlog of 2024, and a joyous New Year to all! With the dawn of a new year in Longvinter, we're excited to unfold some big plans for our updates in the upcoming months. Stay tuned, as we'll be sharing more about our future plans in next week's devlog. Now, let's jump into some thrilling news about modding!
Modding Tools are Now Available to the Public!
We're thrilled to announce that our modding tool is now publicly accessible! This means you no longer have to fill out forms and wait for approval. The initial reason for limiting access was to prevent an influx of issues, but now that we've resolved all major problems, you can download the project directly from: https://github.com/Uuvana-Studios/longvinter-modding For any discussions, queries or brainstorming sessions with fellow modders and developers, head over to our Discord server at https://discord.com/invite/longvinter. You can find us in the -modding channel.
Custom Map Contents
We initially aimed to make custom maps a reality through modding. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to realize this yet. However, we're launching a contest for the best maps that will be included in the main version of the game! We will soon provide a form to apply for the mapping contest. Moreover, we are introducing a fresh Spring biome that you can utilize when designing your map. But in the meantime, here is a tutorial on creating custom maps and the requirements for their inclusion in the game. Map Tutorial
- Added cooldown to empty gun sound
- Corrected tea bag crafting requirements
- Prevented players from building over greenhouse and sauna walls

Christmas Update Season's greetings to all! Longvinter is currently available at a whopping 50% discount during the Steam Winter Sale. This is our most substantial discount ever, and we want to express our gratitude for your incredible support throughout the past year. We are thrilled to announce that there will be new updates and features coming in the next year. During the festive season, you can purchase Christmas decorations from shops located near each major port, specifically, Diogo's Dock, Kyrres Base Camp, and Sgt. Lake Outpost. Additionally, you can find Christmas gifts near various Points of Interest. We've introduced a fun new feature - a throwable snowball! Enjoy spirited snowball fights with friends. We've also added a placeable item that shoots fireworks, perfect for ringing in the New Year. We've also squashed a few more bugs. Here's a list of the latest fixes:
- Resolved an issue where hat effects did not reset after disconnecting during combat.
- Corrected a bug where cooking a complete meal repeatedly no longer contributes to compendium progress.
- Fixed issues with entering and exiting various buildings.
- Apple trees can now be destroyed by attacking them.
- The flying candy effect is no longer transparent.

Longvinter in Jingle Jam Charity
First, I want to wish all of you a very good start to December. I have some exciting news to disclose. Firstly, Longvinter is participating in a charity event where you can donate to any charity and receive a collection of games, including Longvinter. All the money goes towards the charities. The link to the event is here: [Jingle Jam Charity]
More Customization
You've been asking for more customization options, and we're delivering. Going forward, you will receive compendium outfits for each type of compendium: Farming, Fishing, and Hunting. The Cooking outfit is still in production but will arrive after December. Once you've unlocked all items in a given compendium, the outfit will appear in your inventory, and you can equip it from the newly renamed 'Shop & Customize' screen in the menu. We've also added custom backpacks, other clothing items, new faces, and hats. More details on how to achieve them in the next chapter. Pictures of few:
New Item Shop & Vintercoins
As mentioned earlier, there's now a new item shop accessible from the customize menu. Here, you can buy items to wear while adventuring on Longvinter Island. Vintercoins, a currency you can buy with your Steam wallet, are also introduced. Additionally, you'll earn 500 Vintercoins by playing about 30 minutes daily. Players who have previously played Longvinter can retroactively redeem Vintercoins based on their playtime. Note that your games library must be public to achieve this.
Some items are only obtainable from tackle boxes, which drop randomly as you play. These can be opened with keys available in the shop, purchasable with Vintercoins so no real-world money is needed to obtain and open tackle boxes.
Free Tackle Boxes
Starting today, you'll also receive Christmas edition Tackle Boxes that don't require keys to open. Simply click on them in your inventory in character creation to open them!
1.12 Retrospective
I want to take a moment to review the initial launch of the 1.12 update and address the issues experienced in the first week. This was the largest overhaul we've done since the game's initial launch, and it will be the last major overhaul of a singular system. The reason for the overhaul was to allow more customization of items and placeables. Now, each item can have unique values, so we don't need to create multiple instances of the same item with minor differences. We can also now store states, like a mini turret battery state, which persists even if you pick it up to relocate. Server lag issues are our top priority, and the item shop and customization shop were completed before we launched 1.12, even to the experimental branch. Thank you for being patient, and we'll return next week with another bug fix update!
Hello everyone,
It's been over a year since Longvinter was released, and we're thrilled to share that we're still hard at work on our beloved game. As you may know the last week has been quite eventful with the game regarding the bugs and issues. Thankfully the most crucial parts have now been fixed.
We believe that getting nominated for the Steam Awards would be a fantastic opportunity to introduce our game to a wider audience. We're aiming for the "Labor of Love" award category because we've been consistently delivering updates and improvements to the game. We've received messages from many players expressing their appreciation for the direction we're taking Longvinter, and we're grateful for their support.
Now we are asking our community to help us get nominated to the steam awards which will be held December 2023.
WINNERS ANNOUNCED JAN 2ND @ 10AM PACIFIC.
Thank you, Uuvana Team

Additionally, we have prepared a video detailing these changes, which you can watch below. [previewyoutube=xm5trvzz8DM;full][/previewyoutube]
New Item System
The reason for the necessary wipe in this update was due to the complete overhaul of the item system. This new system allows our items to have unique properties while they are in the inventory. It enables dynamic foods, which are included in this update, and paves the way for exciting future additions such as weapon attachments, paints for placeables, and battery-powered turrets. Additionally, this update should eliminate most duplication issues, as every item now has a unique ID that tracks its origin.

- Binocular
- Sawed-off Shotgun

Hey everyone! Welcome to today's devlog. Let's dive into the latest on our Halloween event and tease whats in store for the next update!
Halloween Event
Time's tickingthis weekend is your last chance to join the Halloween Loot Hunt! It's been thrilling to see everyone in the game hunting for the new Halloween-themed items. The riddle we introduced has been a hit, and we love watching you all exchange tips and tricks to solve it. For those collecting pumpkin hats, you've probably noticed a 10% chance of snagging one with a cool particle effect. We're aware the blue pumpkin hat isn't showing its effect properly. No worriesif your steam inventory lists it as "with flame" or shows another effect, it'll be visible after our next patch. There's nothing you need to do on your end.
Roadmap Revisited
Looking back at this year, we've checked off nearly all the goals on our roadmap since our 2022 launch. Yet, we're far from done with content updates. With a wellspring of new ideas and gameplay enhancements, we're eager to continue evolving the game as we journey through Early Access. Your suggestions on Discord spark even more creativity for future features! Coming next year, we're revamping the tent upgrade system, adding more customization to firearms, and introducing new paint options for your placeables. Take a glance at the updated roadmap and join the conversation about the updates you're most excited about.
Progression Wipe Alert November 21
Big changes are coming with the next update, requiring a full reset of inventories and gear. To align with the launch of update 1.12, all official servers will undergo a progression wipe on November 21. While unofficial servers aren't obligated to wipe, we recommend it for the best experience. Wipes are rare but necessary for significant updates. Don't worry, though; you can enjoy uninterrupted gameplay on official servers for several months post-update. We appreciate your understanding.
Update 1.12 Sneak Peek
Our team has been diligently crafting update 1.12, and we're stoked to share that it will roll out in the experimental branch next week, right after the Halloween festivities wrap up. Get ready for a culinary revolution with over 30 new recipes and a completely dynamic cooking system! You can throw in any ingredients you like to whip up a dish, with the energy value varying based on your choicesfor instance, swordfish in your soup will pack more punch than perch. We've also mixed in jams and other treats that offer various buffs, and now you can combine them with any food to customize your adventuring boosts. We can't wait to see your top dish selections and how you plan to gear up for exploration.
New In-Game Hats
Plus, we're thrilled to unveil two new in-game hats: the Woodcutter Hat and the brand-new Ballistic Helmet. We're setting up a mini-raid where you'll have the chance to conquer a boss and snag that helmet. And heres a little sneak peek with a screenshot of the new raid island!

- Added 10 new cosmetic items to the game that can be earned by playing the game during the Halloween event. Note that some rewards must be discovered from the game level to unlock them.
- Map now has Halloween decorations
- Optimized player turrets to not be as CPU intensive on the server side
- Mining helmet can now be bought from the vendor in Sgt. Lake base camp
- Electric pickaxe can now be found in weapon chests
- Trees can now spawn a maximum of 7 wood & 2 resin when chopped
Weapon balance changes
Semi-automatic, Submachine gun and chainsaw are the most popular weapons with 85% of all kills made by these 3 weapons. With this update, we wanted to tune down these a bit and make other weapons more serious options.
- Semi-automatic
- Semi-auto has been the most popular weapon by a long shot due to its easy acquisition compared to other weapons and its constant damage output. We wanted to emphasize its role as Marskman weapon with the following changes:
- Increased the damage from 9 12
- Reduced fire rate by 33%
- Chainsaw
- While we want to keep the relevance of a melee weapon in the game we thought that chainsaw was a bit too good. We wanted to lower movement speed to prevent chasing but changed the fire rate/damage ratio to keep it more constant
- Lowered movement speed while firing by 10%
- Increased fire rate by 100%
- Decreased damage from 16 7
- Submachine gun
- The submachine gun was also trendy and the global average kill distance was so short that it seems obvious why submachine gun and chainsaw both dominated the place for most used weapon. We wanted to keep its relevancy as the top close combat weapon but we felt like its 1,5-second TTK was too little to allow an opponent to react when shot
- Reduced fire rate by 25%
Some other weapons were really lacking in damage or fire rate department and we wanted to raise some weapons stats to be better at their intended role
- Crossbow
- Crossbow was when introduced intended to be an easy to acquire hunting and combat tool. The current damage was just not cutting it in combat or when hunting and we wanted to give it a serious damage buff to make it shine. Although it will still be a bit lacking with projectile speed and reload speed this should give it more roles as a finisher or when playing in a group and bursting down enemies
- Increased damage from 10 30
- Shotgun
- The shotgun is also another early-game weapon really just lacks damage and we wanted to give a little damage boost to make it more in line with other weapons and allow you to do more than just hunting with it
- Increased pellet damage from 3.33 4 (Note that the shotgun shoots 6 pellets so total single-shot damage is now 20)
- Auto shotgun
- Automatic shotgun was always meant to be really deadly in close to mid-range but it really did not live up to its intended purpose. Here are the changes we are making to the weapon in order to make it compete with submachine gun as the ultimate close combat weapon that uses more ammo and is not as versatile
- Increased pellet damage from 2.5 3.5(This shotgun has also 6 pellets per shot)
- Increased the ammo consumption/shot from 6 to 12
- To make it more punishing to miss your shot and to make this a premium option
- Damage fall of increased by 400%
- This ensures the intended role as a close combat weapon
- Increased fire rate by 50%
- Makes the time to kill in line with the submachine gun
- Fixed a bug where player could sit in a boat when entering a building
- Fixed a bug where placeables on the second floor were blocking item placement
- Fixed duplication bug with disassembly machine
- Selling all items by holding the vendor listing should now work again
- Fixed quest progression if the user already knows how to craft an advanced pickaxe
- Building contest semi-finalists have a new effect on their building hat
First and foremost, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of you who took part in the Building Contest! We were thrilled to have nearly 400 participants, and your submissions truly made it a challenging task for the jury to select the best ones. To begin the selection process, we first identified our favorites, which resulted in 28 buildings making it to the semifinals. Players that made it to the semi-finals will receive a different kind of participant hat. The hat you will have a effect which makes you stand out from the rest! (note that it might take for a while for us to turn on the effect). After that we voted with the Uuvana team and the Community staff members for the top 3!

Upcoming Weapon balance update
You might have noticed the new EULA, which mentions that we are now collecting data on player behavior and other in-game activities. Were using this data to gain insights into various game dynamics, especially focusing on identifying any imbalances. Based on our findings, were gearing up to roll out our first balance update soon, aiming to particularly address disparities in weapon balance that weve observed. Rest assured, our intent with this data collection is solely to enhance game balance and overall player experience! Keep an eye out for more updates on upcoming improvements.
1.12 & Revamped Item System
We've been listening to feedback and recognize the need for a deeper, more interactive cooking experience. With the upcoming 1.12 update, we're bringing you just that. Previously, the scope for culinary creativity was limited. Next, in the 1.12 update, players will have the freedom to mix and match ingredients. The resulting dish will possess unique attributes and appearances, reflecting the components used. For instance, incorporating chilli into a recipe will bestow a heat buff, similar to some current dishes. Moreover, the energy value of a dish will vary based on the ingredients and their quantities. As an example, cooking a dish using three fishes will pack more energy than one made with a single fish, allowing players to optimize inventory space with nutrient-rich food. To achieve this culinary evolution, we're undertaking a significant overhaul of the entire item system, rebuilding it from the ground up. This foundation will enhance the cooking experience and pave the way for numerous exciting features. With the capability to assign custom values to any item in the inventory, we can now introduce nuances like varying weights for fish, weapon attachments, and customizable placeables. However, a significant change of this magnitude means that all current inventories will be reset to align with the new system. We understand this may be inconvenient, but it's a necessary step to usher in this game-enhancing update. Your patience and support mean everything to us, and we're confident you'll find the new features well worth the wait. We are aiming to roll out Update 1.12 to the experimental branch this coming November.
- The score no longer resets when a player leaves a team.
- Added EULA
- Admins can now dismantle houses even if they have not placed them

Caves
Our primary focus recently has been developing a dynamic and engaging cave system. They will pave the way for mining mechanics, the discovery of various ores, and the introduction of smelting. Alongside this, we're rolling out a unique garden set, craftable from multiple metals, allowing for distinctive aesthetic variations. To guide you through this expanded gameplay, we're introducing a dedicated quest line centered around the caves. Dive in and experience this exciting new chapter!

These new additions will form part of the hunting compendium, marking our first venture into hostile wildlife. We're eager to see how you'll engage in combat with these creatures. But that's not all - these wolves aren't just foes, but also potential allies. You'll be able to use them as mounts for faster land travel. Stay tuned for details on how you can obtain one of these beasts!

These include the ability to name containers and sort items within them for easier inventory management. We're also reworking the equipment tab for a more user-friendly interface that offers a better view of your character. New elements such as a passive fishing net/trap and more are on the horizon. As always, we'll roll out these updates first on our experimental server to ensure thorough testing and bug fixing before the broad release on other servers. Stay tuned for more updates!

Greetings! Welcome to our latest Friday devlog! It's been a little while since our last one, and I (Sven) apologize for that. I took a short summer break, which meant a pause in our devlog updates. But fear not, the rest of the team has been diligently working towards our next content update even in my absence! So, let's dive into what's been going on behind the scenes and what exciting developments you can look forward to.
Modding support
Implementing modding support proved to be quite the task, demanding numerous hours to troubleshoot the plethora of challenges that came with our chosen plugin. Nevertheless, the effort was worthwhile. It's been a month since we've launched this feature in an invite-only test phase, and the creative outputs have been simply delightful to witness. We're looking forward to seeing these imaginative modifications soon on our modded server list. Remember to explore these servers in their designated category. By clicking on the three dots icon (), you can expand the server information to view all installed mods. Here are a few highlights from the world of mods:

Modding Support
The final version of our modding support is now ready and we're planning to distribute it gradually through Google Forms submissions. Just fill out the form and we will give access to the GitHub repository.
What Can You Achieve with Modding?
To begin, you'll need the source build Unreal Engine 4.26 to access the project editor. We've made specific elements modifiable by adding a "replaceable actor" component to the items you're permitted to modify. Here's an overview of what you can currently achieve with modding: - Introduce new items to the game, such as food, plants, weapons, and additional placeable objects for your house - Customize homes with varying appearances and colors, or upgrade turrets instead of electrical systems, and more - Create new in-game events, like air drops - Make alterations to Longvinter Island; while custom maps are not yet functional, you can still manipulate the map by spawning objects and executing server code - Modify the player character by adjusting running speed, enabling a fully rotatable camera, and adding custom character models. Since we use the Unreal Engine's default mannequin character skeleton, you can easily introduce new models as player characters, as well as custom UI elements - Replace chests to offer improved loot or increased quantities of existing loot As someone who has spent countless hours modding games like Skyrim and Fallout, I'm thrilled to see what unique creations you'll produce with our modding tools. We'll review your ideas submitted through the forms and create guided tutorials for the most popular ones, helping you get started as quickly as possible!
When is the next update arriving?
Before we release the next major update, we'll first apply a hotfix to address the remaining issues and ensure that modding support functions smoothly. This will also resolve any critical bugs still present in the game. Following that, we'll start working on the forthcoming update, which will prioritize your feedback, implement quality of life enhancements, and incorporate your suggestions. We've already begun developing features like customizable chest names and the ability to quickly sort items within chests by value, rarity, and category. Additionally, we'll be introducing the highly anticipated and previously postponed hostile wolf to the game. As we finalize our objectives for this update, we'll share more details about the planned changes. Furthermore, we will continue to work on fixing bugs and incorporating the quality of life improvements you've recommended. We appreciate the feedback and input from our players and are committed to providing the best possible gaming experience for all. Thank you for your continued support!

Welcome to Friday Devlog!
Modding support
We made every effort to have modding support ready for the launch of this update, but unfortunately, we couldn't complete all the desired features. We also didn't want to delay the update any further, as server progress was wiped due to update requirements. We saw that many players were eagerly awaiting the wipe more than the update itself. We apologize for the issues encountered at launch and are working diligently to address them. In the coming weeks, we'll be resolving the remaining significant issues and adding modding support. Let's also address some other concerns that have been raised. In the meantime, we encourage players to start preparing by installing the required source build of Unreal Engine 4.26. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to work towards delivering the best possible gameplay experience for our community.
Currently known issues
We've received reports of a bug that emerged since introducing controller support. This issue causes characters to halt their movement when eating or interacting with items in the inventory. We have already taken steps to mitigate this problem and will continue working to resolve all instances where it occurs. Another significant concern you've shared is related to gun recoil while moving. In version 1.10b, we transitioned to a new character model using Unreal Engine's skeleton, simplifying the animation process. Previously, movement recoil was solely managed through animation. We decided to switch to a random spread calculation for better control over recoil. While we intend to maintain a slight accuracy reduction when moving to give retreating players a better chance of survival, we plan to adjust the recoil next week. We'll closely monitor your feedback and continue fine-tuning until we reach a satisfactory balance for all players.
Results of Player Survey on Official Server Wipes
Recently, we conducted a survey to gather feedback from players on server wipes. We received 197 responses, and here are the key results regarding the server wipes: Do you want all official servers to have wipes? Yes: 54.8% No: 45.2% Would you rather have: All official servers wiped: 38.1% All PVP and monthly wipe servers wiped: 9.1% All PVE and monthly wipe servers wiped: 16.2% Only separate monthly wipe servers: 36.5% How often should the Normal servers be wiped? Every month: 18.6% Every 3 months: 41.5% Every 6 months: 39.8% After analyzing the results of the player survey, we are thinking about making some changes to our wipe policy. We would be keeping the Monthly wipe servers, which will reset every month, and we would be wiping the other official servers every 6 months. We believe that this approach strikes a good balance between the desires of our player base and the need to maintain a stable and fair gaming environment. Players who enjoy the frequent reset of progress and the challenge of starting fresh can continue to play on the Monthly wipe servers, while those who prefer a longer-term experience can enjoy the other official servers. We appreciate the feedback and input from our players and are committed to providing the best possible gaming experience for all. Thank you for your continued support!

Modding support
Greetings, we are excited to announce that the update is finally here, and with it comes a required wipe for all official servers because of the house area changes, please note that wiping your own existing server is strongly recommended. We are also thrilled to introduce modding support to the game, allowing players to customize their gameplay experience to their liking. However, we still need some time to finalize the modding version of the project. In the meantime, we encourage players to start preparing by installing the required source build of Unreal Engine 4.26. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to work towards delivering the best possible gameplay experience for our community.

The upcoming update will necessitate a complete wipe on official servers, as we plan to expand the available house building area and modify the number of houses a player can place. The scheduled update and wipe will take place on April 13, 2023.
Enhanced Modding Support and Update 1.10b
Having addressed the most critical issues in version 1.10, our team has been diligently working to introduce modding support, server optimizations, and various quality of life improvements. Our goal is to enable servers with 50 players to maintain a minimum of 20 ticks per second. Although we haven't tested the newly optimized build yet, we are optimistic about its performance following the update. Additionally, we have refactored portions of the code to enhance security and reduce the risk of hacking.
Integration of AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution
In our next update, we will be incorporating FSR support, significantly boosting frame rates for players who have struggled to achieve a stable 60 fps. FSR technology renders the game at a lower resolution before upscaling the image, making it compatible with all devices and a prime choice for implementation.

Player Survey: Shape the Future of the Game
We value your input on aspects such as wipe schedules and safe zones. For the next two weeks, we will be collecting responses via a Google form to better understand your priorities and guide our development efforts. We're eager to review your feedback, and we'll share the results with the community later on. Answer to the survey here
Steam Deck Compatibility
We are pleased to announce that Valve has officially confirmed our game's compatibility with the Steam Deck. We welcome any feedback regarding the Deck's controls and potential improvements. As the game continues to evolve, we will address all identified issues in a later stage when it reaches a more complete state.
- Fixed a bug that prevented water platform placement
- Updated Epic Online Service SDK
- Changed the way the boat is floating so it would wobble less

- Greenhouse interior missing when placed too close to a house fixed by preventing placement right next to a house
Welcome to Friday Devlog! We're excited to share that Update 1.10 has just been released, and we're thrilled to see the enthusiastic reception from the community. You can read the full patch notes here. To address some issues that were not discovered during the experimental testing phase, we have already rolled out a hotfix. Community Manager Update We're pleased to announce that our new community manager has significantly reduced response times on our contact page and allowed us to be more engaged with the community. We are already planning exciting events and opportunities for increased interaction with our players. Modding Support Delay Due to the extensive rework required on the game's code, we have decided to delay the release of modding tools. Releasing them now would necessitate updates to all mods immediately following the 1.10b update. This postponement allows us more time to refine the feature. Once implemented, joining a modded server will automatically load and install all necessary mods, making it easy for players to switch between and test different modded servers.

Greetings! We are excited to introduce our new Community Manager, Arttu, who will be responsible for moderating forums and social media channels, responding to player feedback and complaints, organizing events, and acting as a liaison between the players and the development team. Arttu will also be involved in creating and executing marketing campaigns and strategies to promote the game and increase its player base.
Few words from the community manager
Hey All! I am thrilled to announce that I have recently joined the team as the community manager! As a passionate gamer myself, I am excited to be a part of such an incredible project and to have the opportunity to interact with you all. As you may have already read, I am here to serve as the bridge between the development team and the player community. Your satisfaction is my top priority, and I am here to ensure that your voices are heard and that we can work together to make the game even better. I am aware that there have been some issues with the servers and the game itself, but please know that we are doing everything we can to improve the overall experience for everyone. We are listening to your feedback and suggestions, and we are committed to making Longvinter the best game it can be. See you on the island!
Korean placeable save loss
We deeply apologize for the recent issue affecting some of our Korean servers, where some placeables are not being saved or loaded correctly. We understand the frustration and disappointment this has caused, especially for those who have lost progress as a result. We want to assure our players that we are actively investigating the root cause of this issue and working diligently to find a solution as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this matter and deliver a better gameplay experience for all of our players.
1.10 Progress udpate
We have continued working on the upcoming 1.10 update that now includes significant server-side performance improvements, as well as a new queue system that ensures fair access for all players. However, before the update is ready for release, we need to conduct thorough testing to ensure a smooth and seamless experience for everyone. One of the challenges we are currently addressing is how to introduce the new water placeable platforms in a way that doesn't allow players filling all bodies of water with these platforms. We are considering restricting platform placement to specific areas, similar to how point of interest areas disallow other placeables. Following the 1.10 update, we will focus on resolving all bugs on our Github and optimizing and cleaning the code in preparation for the long-awaited modding support. Thank you for your patience and support as we work to deliver the best possible experience for our players. To keep the discussion organized, we encourage players to share their thoughts and report any bugs they encounter on our discord channel "-experimental-longvinter". By doing so, we can ensure that issues with the experimental build are properly addressed and separated from the stable version. We will also inform you about the new updates in this channel See the image below on how to switch to the experimental version!
- Boats stop calculating physics if no player is near them
- A large stack of boats will be destroyed and only a few boats will be left. Boats in water are not affected
Greetings! The team has been working hard to bring you the next big update for Longvinter. I am thrilled to share all the exciting new content and improvements with you. But before we dive into the details, let's take a moment to address some concerns and questions that have been raised by some of our players about our company and the game. Stay tuned for an update that promises to bring even more fun and adventure to Longvinter!
Uuvana and other projects
We understand that some of our players may have come across information about an additional project we have been working on in addition to Longvinter. While we are proud of the progress we have made on Longvinter, we recognize that we are a growing company and our capabilities extend beyond just one game. That being said, our focus remains on addressing the lag and saving issues in Longvinter, and we will not even think about moving away from Longvinter until these problems have been resolved. We are grateful for the community's support and understanding, and we appreciate all the feedback and suggestions we have received thus far. Going forward, we will continue delivering new content and updates to Longvinter, and we are always open to considering ideas and suggestions from our players. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to bringing you more updates in the future.
Modding support delayed
Unfortunately, we have to delay the modding support until the 1.10b update. This is due to the increasing issue of hacking in our servers, and we need to implement changes to the base code to prevent this. These changes would result in all mods becoming incompatible and needing to be updated. We apologize for the inconvenience, but this is a necessary step to ensure a secure and stable gaming experience for everyone. After we release the 1.10 update, we will focus on improving performance and fixing bugs in the 1.10b build, which will finally include the modding support.
1.10 update
The next update, including the highly anticipated controller support, will be available for testing on our experimental branch tomorrow. While the UI is still a work in progress, we are eager to hear your feedback and incorporate it into the final version. The update also features 20 new items, ranging from placeables to weapons.
- Fixed some exploits which gave players an advantage over others
- Added a 45-minute idle timer to kick players who don't play actively to make room for others
- Admin panel got improvements. You can now view while you play and also the ability to give players an item set of their choosing.
- Moved the admin feature "Toggle names" into the action tab
Due to the popular demand in our discord, All OFFICIAL EU and North American servers will be wiped today 20.1.2023. The exact time for this is still unclear and we will announce updates in the game's main menu once the wipe has been completed. We will also do some server changes in order to concentrate the community in each region together. EU servers will have only 1 PVP and 1 PVE server. North America will have 1 server for East and West. And 1 PVE server so a total of three servers.
We will be moving to a new ticket system since the Epic games system lacked the ability to easily share videos and images. Chat is usable in contact.uuvana.com We also want to clarify that the big update we discussed in the last Devlog is not finished and will not be released with this Asian server Wipe/progression reset.
- Disabled snow gun since the Christmas event has ended
- Added links to the new chat system where previous ticket forms were
- Improved house cheat prevention to prevent accidental house destruction
This is the first devlog of 2023. Happy New Year, everyone! We hope that you had a wonderful holiday season and are ready to take on the new year with renewed energy and excitement. We're hard at work on the new update and we can't wait to share some new details with you!
Asian server wipes
We understand that the decision to wipe the Asian server may have caused some disappointment for our players. However, we felt it was necessary in order to address the significant lag issues caused by duplication glitches that were being exploited by some players. These glitches allowed a small number of players to acquire large amounts of in-game currency, which created an unfair advantage and negatively impacted the overall gaming experience for others. We have now taken steps to fix these bugs and believe that wiping the server is the most effective solution to improve performance. It's important to note that unofficial servers are not affected by this decision. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your understanding as we work to improve the overall quality of the game.
Next update
We're excited to share some of the new features and improvements that will be included in our upcoming update. While we can't give a specific release date just yet, we want to give you a better understanding of the progress we've made and what still needs to be done before the update is ready to be rolled out. Here are some of the new things you can expect to see in the next update:
New weapons
The long-awaited machine gun is finally coming, as well as three additional weapons will be included in the next update. While the models for all four weapons are complete, the crossbow will require the addition of a new ammo type before it can be added to the game. In the meantime, here are some preview images of all the new weapons to whet your appetite!
Disassembly machine
Are you tired of being stuck without the necessary components to craft your desired weapons? We have some exciting news for you! The next update will introduce the ability to disassemble other weapons that are crafted with Long Gun Barrels via the new Disassembly machine, giving you the option to obtain the parts you need without ever leaving the house. The machine uses electricity so you need to plan accordingly. You can dismantle anything that is crafted with this machine, there is a small chance that some components are lost during the dismantling process. Only the model is ready so we still need to implement interaction.
Advanced workbench
The upcoming update will introduce the advanced workbench, which will enhance the crafting system by increasing the number of required components for certain items. This change may make obtaining some items take more time, but it also allows us to better distinguish between early-game and late-game items by still utilizing basic crafting materials such as wood and metal parts. This will create a more nuanced and engaging crafting experience for players, allowing for a greater sense of progression and accomplishment as they progress through the game. For this one as well only the model is ready so we still need to implement interaction.
Modding support
In the upcoming update, we will be releasing a portion of the game's source code, allowing the community to create their own mods using Unreal Engine. This is a huge step forward for us and we can't wait to see the creative and innovative mods the community will create. To facilitate this, we will be releasing full modding tutorials and adding a dedicated tab for modded servers in the server browser. Additionally, we have already made progress in implementing a modding package manager, and we're currently working on figuring out the best way to handle installation and integration with Steam Workshop. This is an exciting time for the community and we look forward to seeing the new possibilities and experiences that mods will bring to the game.
Controller support
We are excited to announce that controller support is finally coming to Longvinter, a feature that our players have been requesting since the game's launch. With this update, players will have the option to play the game in a more relaxed and comfortable way. We understand that controller support is important to many players, and we're glad to be able to make this feature a reality.
All ASIAN OFFICIAL servers will be wiped today 20.1.2023 05.00 - 07.00 UTC time Due to the high number of new players currently playing on Korean servers, we feel like the lag has been getting out of hand, so we are wiping the Asian servers. This will not affect other regions. Our goal is not to wipe servers other than the ones that state MONTHLY WIPE. These are meant for the most active players who want that fresh start feeling. We are also raising the player count for these servers to 75 as an experiment. I will be sharing more info about the upcoming update in Friday's devlog. So stay tuned for that!
Happy Holiday season everyone! To celebrate Christmas, everyone can get their own Christmas hat as a steam item that you can equip and wear in the game after continuously playing for 30 minutes on any server. If you can see the hat in your steam inventory you can equip it from the game's character customization menu! There are also Christmas gifts scattered around the map for you to pick up and open. These give you a random item from the item pool of over 200 items! You can also find red vending machines near the main hubs that sell all the Christmas-themed items so you can easily decorate your house! The vendor also sells a snowball gun which is made by a community member! Christmas hat will drop only during this Christmas event
- Rains are now less frequent [*Houses placed by banned people should now despawn [*Fixed second vendor Mk exploit [*Fixed crafting exploit
The holiday season is coming quickly and we have prepared a small update for you before the big 1.10 update next year. This one focuses on quality-of-life changes and bug fixes so you could have a smooth experience during holidays. And we have an event coming with a new limited-time hat and gun!
Q&A session with devs in discord next week!
Have some questions about the future of the game or existing mechanics? Come ask them from devs in our discord. We will answer all the questions live on 7.12.2022 from 06-08 UTC. If you cannot attend. We will open the text channel a day before the session so you can drop the question beforehand and it will get answered when we start.
Weather effects
Rain and snowing are now added to the game and I personally really love the feeling that the snowing gives to the game. Snow now covers placeables placed in the snow region during snow storms to add an extra level of detail to the world. Here are the current final versions of both effects. [previewyoutube=j-JxzzduQsM;full][/previewyoutube] [previewyoutube=ysyIKitJ0nw;full][/previewyoutube]
Reindeers
Our second animal type is now in the game! This took a very long because the wolf has not been completed yet. But don't worry we will get the wolf ready for the 1.10 update.

All OFFICIAL servers will be wiped today 19.11.2022 15.30 UTC time Firstly we need to apologize for the server instability and chest progression that has impacted all servers. Due to the high amount of loot lost we felt like we needed to wipe all progress and reset the server to its original state so it would be a fair start for everyone. Our goal is to not wipe the server and we managed to make it 3 months of no wipes. I hope this is the last time but I cannot promise anything. The game will not leave early access before all the progress loss issues have been resolved.
Populated servers have been experiencing big issues. After doing more research we discovered an issue where chests were being saved twice and this caused a huge performance impact when all duplicate chests were being spawned back into the map.
- Added fail-to check to prevent chests from being spawned multiple times in the same location
Populated servers have been experiencing big issues. This update should resolve at least some of the bigger ones. The problem was caused by chest save files becoming too large. We applied the following changes to reduce their size
- Reduced data stored in a single chest data instance by 20%
- Made zones that are used for saving chests 50% smaller
Hello everyone. It has been a while since the last devlog, don't worry this does not mean we have slowed down the development. Let's go over some things we have been working on.
Weather effects
To make our world feel more alive next step for us is to add snowfall and rain to the world. Here is an early look at the new raining effect [previewyoutube=VDgwmEpcZ60;full][/previewyoutube]
Bug fixes
Since the holiday season is coming we want to make the experience as smooth as possible and we have been going through our GitHub issues and finally dealing with small problems that have been in the game for a really long time. We still don't know why some players lose all their progression because it happens to relatively few people and we have not been able to identify a clear pattern on this issue. If you experience any bugs you can report them in GitHub We know that it's a bit tedious to make an account in order to post but we want these to be available for everyone to view and comment on.
Next year
Here is a rough idea of what we have been planning in terms of updates. We will release a small update next month with about 7 new items and other quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes. Our next big update is targeted to release early next year. This will feature full modding support, new guns and other game-changing items so stay tuned for more information coming about this next in the following months!
- Fixed a bug where the bunker loot room would have multiple doors you had to open to get in. Now only has one.
- Fixed the bug that made selling to the James vendor make your UI stuck and unable to click any items
- Fixed a bug where the item name would stay next to the mouse even if a player were not hovering over any item
- Applied a fix for the bug where the player would spawn in the Sgt. lake outpost when logged out inside the house
- Fixed a duplication bug where an item could be taken out of the crafting tab twice
- Disabled Halloween that's from dropping due to the event ending today
Happy Halloween!
We wanted to celebrate Halloween with you and added a new scarecrow item and a pumpkin plant that you can use to craft the pumpkin lanterns. Some harbours have had small decorations done to them to make them more Halloween-themed!
We also wanted to give the first Longvinter steam items to our most active fan base. After an hour of play, you will get the first hat drop and after 3 hours you will get the second variant of the hat and community-inspired clown face that you can use to customize your character in Character customizer.
These items will drop only during this Halloween event so make sure to try out the new update!
Halloween is coming! While we are preparing for the new bigger update we wanted to give you a small quality of life update with some new Halloween items!
Halloween themed steam items
During Halloween, you can earn 3 steam items while playing the game. All items are granted after 3 hours of playing on a server. Once they are in your Steam inventory you can equip them from the character customizer.
Pumpkins and Scarecrows
A new pumpkin plant has been added and you can find it in the Autumn region. Some vendors buy/sell the new plant. You can use the pumpkin to craft it into a pumpkin lantern!
Sell by long press
No longer you have to press the same button 15 times if you have an inventory full of items you want to sell. You can now sell all by just long pressing the sell button. [previewyoutube=R64sFcV-K24;full][/previewyoutube]
New camera angle
One of the most requested features, since we launched the game, has been an altered camera angle to see behind houses and other objects that block the view. You can now change to the new top-down view by pressing "Q" [previewyoutube=7lhRqzB6Su8;full][/previewyoutube]
Add buy orders to your own vendor
I think the player-maintained vendors are one of the coolest things that we have in the game. Vendors have had a UI overhaul and a new feature to allow you to buy items from other players and collect them later. [previewyoutube=WXZSUxJ1tkg;full][/previewyoutube]
New Settings
Every input is now mappable in the input settings tab. Also, we have added new settings to the general settings tab.
- Hide the home location indicator
- Hide team member location indicators
- Automatic inventory opens after placing an item for those who want to quickly place fences etc!
- Character reset button that allows you to reset your character if you have had a bug where you camera is stuck in the void
Other changes
Here is a list of other changes we added
- Re-balanced the shotgun. - Reduced damage by 35% - Less scatter to make it more accurate in the medium range
- 2 new fishing reels to add more variety for choosing your fishing equipment
- Changed the Container saving method to the same one that we use for saving placeables. Hopefully, this prevents future data loss on containers
- You can now open a map by pressing "M" if you have one in your inventory
- Lover the generator sound levels
- Turrets should no longer shoot fences that are blocking the way
- Show item name when hovering over them with the mouse
- Unofficial servers can change how long it takes for a container to respawn - Use ChestRespawnTime variable name in GM_Longvinter default is 600(seconds)
- Empty click is now played if you fire your gun without ammo
- Changed bunker entering sound
- Raised safe zone turret damage
- Fixed the bug that allowed the safe zone turrets to be destroyed by dismanteling a tent next to it
After quite a rocky start, update 1.0.9 is now relatively stable and significant issues have been resolved including the memory leak and birds running in water. I wanted to give you an insight into what we plan to do with the next updates.
Quality of life over content
After a big content update, we feel that is appropriate to now focus more on making the current experience feel more polished and fluent. Next update (1.0.9b) we will focus on adding more settings and options to customize your gameplay
Weekly wipe servers to monthly wipe
Our most dedicated players have stated that they wish monthly wipes would come back because they run out of things to do in the game. The most ideal situation would be that there would be endless stuff to do in the game and we will try to address this in the following updates. As a short-term solution, we decided to make current weekly wipe servers into monthly wipe servers and see if are those more popular than our normal servers.
Next update on trello board
Our next update is coming in next month. And we will try to get it in experimental in two weeks. It will feature basic features that games usually have ready even before early access but better late than never. Every key will be remappable and we will add new general settings to hide optional UI elements and for example make auto-opening inventory after placing the item on the ground an option for those who spent a lot of time building. If you have some quality of life setting ideas that you would like implemented feel free to suggest them in the comments! Follow the roadmap to see what settings will be added to the update!
- Tried to fix a bug where safe zone turrets disappear
- Fixed settings not applying when starting own server inside the game

Hello there. The long waited update is finally here and we will be focusing on that mostly in this week's devlog.
Weekly wipe server changing to bi-weekly
Players who enjoy playing on servers that are wiped frequently. We felt like one week was too short a time and those servers are very unpopulated so we wanted to extend the wipe cycle by a week to give more time to play on a single cycle. We will be changing them to only wiping them every other week to give more time to play before wiping.

What is next?
For now, we want to keep updating and polishing the current experience. Follow the roadmap for more detailed plans on updates.
New update is coming together nicely and almost all features are now on experimental for testing. Lets go over the new things that you can all play on 1.0.9 update that is now scheduled to arrive in 16.9.2022.
New blueprint system
Some items that you previously could not craft are now added to the new blueprint catalogue found in the Compendium tap. There are now 2 new items that relate to this: "Research Document" and "Research Blueprint". After you have found 4 documents by completing new quests that are found from some vendors. You can craft a Blueprint that you can study and learn one of the items in the Blueprint category.
In game map
It is finally here. After the recent enlargement of the map, we feel like we wanted to give you an in-game way to navigate. You will have to pinpoint your location yourself. All islands have now names as well. These are referred in quests.
2 new rifles
Now adding up to 4 new weapons coming in the next update we wanted the new rifle to feel accurate and good to shoot. We added a full auto and burst variant. These can only be crafted and not found. And yes these use the metal stock that has been in the game since release with no purpose!
New map and other features now on experimental
The new map and other long waited features are finally starting to be ready and are now playable in experimental. Other new things are boats, NPCs and bunkers!

Here's how you can participate:
Hello all. Official servers were all wiped today hopefully for the last time. The next update is still under development but the bigger map should not require a wipe so we will update the game when we have all things ready for it.
Currently known issue with 2nd floor upgrade
If you are choosing the sustainable upgrade path for your house, you should first upgrade the 2nd-floor upgrade before upgrading the wind turbine and solar panel upgrades because these will prevent you from upgrading the 2nd-floor upgrade. This will be fixed in the next update.
Lag and high ping
Many of you who have played the game on a high populated server have probably noticed high ping and unresponsive feeling while playing the game. This lag is caused by all the items that have been placed on the map and it is the biggest obstacle for us to overcome before we can release the bigger map with even more space to build and place items on the ground.

Here's how you can participate:
This week's devlog will be a bit dry on new things because we are currently working hard to get bigger maps, NPCs, boats and new weapons into the game.
When next update is released?
Currently, we are in a lucky position as we don't have to target any exact dates. But we don't want to let you dark and I have added all the major things we want to get featured in the next update 1.0.9 to our roadmap so you can check the progress of things there.
Survival fest
We have noticed there are many new people joining us and I would like to welcome you all to our community! I would like to remind everyone that we currently still are doing monthly wipes on all official servers before the bigger map is released. The next wipe is scheduled on 19.8.2022. If you haven't checked out one of the community members' excellent beginner tutorials already, I highly recommend it! [previewyoutube=dOpa6YxgkIE;full][/previewyoutube]
Laggy servers
The last update introduced unexpected lag and many problems to those who had updated their house interior. We tried to fix the object pop stutters and memory leaks by cooking the peaceable class so that it was faster to load in memory but took more space in memory. We thought this was fine because there were only about 100 max placeables on screen simultaneously. But this issue came up when running on the full server where each player used around 50% more memory on a server than previously and the server executable would eat 20 Gb of memory on the fully populated server. And because of this official Korean servers 1-3 lost their house placement data when we closed the servers to update them. We are sorry this happened and we will continue optimizing servers as we move towards bigger maps that require more computing power to run more AI and houses etc.
New way to contact us about longvinter
As of today, we are moving away from the Discord ticket system. Discord will still be used as a place to talk about the game, get help from the community and report bugs and meet new people. Press, Business, Hacker, abusive player and technical support reports will be done by filling the form in contact.uuvana.com and communicating by email.
- Plants can now be picked up after server restart
- Trees no despawn when enough damage is done to them
- Fuel upgrade path houses should now update correctly to second-floor upgrade
- Moved house interior slightly backward so items stuck in the back wall can be accessed again
- Reverted network settings back to the original where items that are already seen by the player will not despawn and will stay in memory. This will reduce the network traffic on the server and reduce lag. Some memory leak problems will occur because of this.
Bug fixes
- Modular cabinet should now correctly respawn after server restart
- Fixed cooking duplication bug
- Made code changing more secure
- Increase tent building block area slightly so it does not overlap with the other houses when placed in 45 angle
- Fixed duplication glitch
- Fixed stove from disappearing invisible every time you leave your house

- Fixed a bug where server decay is not turned off even if the config file tentDecay=false is set

- You can now close the weather station and Electricity generator UI with esc
- You now exit the house by pressing Space
- Made all password texts as dots so streamers cannot accidentally spoil house code
- You can now search items from cooking and crafting books

20 devlogs released already. Time flies so fast and I'm so proud to look back on how far we have come. Since the game was released we have doubled the item count in the game. Added electricity and other upgrade options to the tents. Character customization, quests, teams, and other great features that have really improved the game and made it already a much smoother experience. This week's devlog will still be quite dry in terms of images but I am sure next time I have some nice concrete things to show you.
Next official server wipe
The next official server wipe will be on 19.8.2022.
Boats and bigger map
We feel like now is the right time to make the map bigger and finally try to stop wiping progression. We have already finished the layout of the map expansion. This will have the same islands that are currently present on the map but we are adding new islands around them. There will be a total of 10 new islands that can be explored. Also, a number of smaller islands are added to go alongside new boats. All the compendium vendors are moving away from Sgt. Lake base camp and are given their own islands. These islands will require you to complete half of the compendium in order to enter the area and they will have some activities related to the compendium.
Bunkers and enemies
We want to make the looting areas more interesting and we are adding underground bunkers that can be accessed by an elevator that is found inside the buildings in POI We have also been preparing to introduce hostile NPCs to the game to make PVE more interesting. When combining both the new underground parts for the point of interest and enemy NPCs, we need to rethink how loot is distributed over different areas and there will be changes to them as well. Currently finding weapons is far easier than finding parts and crafting them. Weapon drops will become much rarer and we keep the weapon part drops the same.
When next update is relased?
We currently don't want to give any exact date on when the next update is released. But when we update new things to experimental it usually takes 2 weeks to iron out all the issues that come up from experimental.
Hello all. For clarification, weekly wipe servers will be wiped today as they are always wiped on Friday Other official servers are wiped on 17.7 as we have announced earlier. We know that the constant wiping is not very fun and does make the game very grindy, we are planning to make the map bigger so we can move away from wipes after the next update. We are still not sure when the next update is going to be released because we want to make it have meaningful new things. - Nilsson
I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. The summer sale is now over but we have had a good increase in our daily player numbers and I love seeing new players try and experience the game first time. Please leave a comment and share how did the new starter quest help you get started on the game? We will be increasing the time we work on each major update. I feel like it has allowed us to plan better and make updates include more features and items. The more time a new update has in experimental the more stable it usually is when we push to the LIVE environment. Our next scheduled WIPE for all official servers will be on 17.7.2022. We want to make the map bigger before we move away from the monthly wipes. We also have heard your request for an official PVE server and we will be making one in the following weeks so stay tuned for that! Let's talk about what is coming next!
More quests and hair styles
Now that we have added the quest system and character customization. We want to expand and add new quests and hairstyles with each update. The next update will have a couple of new hairstyles for female and male characters.

I have to apologize for releasing this devlog a bit late because of personal stuff but better late than never! The summer sale has just started and it's so great to see so many new players trying out our game. I'm reading reviews and discussions on the game constantly and I want to hear and improve the game from your feedback. The server browser and stability update has been keeping the game relatively stable. We are planning to get the 1.0.8 to STABLE end of this week. You can try most of the features out now in the experimental branch already, lets's go over some main things! -Nilsson
New items
Pack of worms and blackberries
A couple of new consumable items that make you get better drops from fishing.
Weather station
A second new fishing-related item that you can buy when you have found all fishes for the compendium. It consumes electricity and lets you sell weather data from your area and earn Mk passively.
Hiking backpack
This new item increases your inventory size when equipped. This rare item is added to the arena loot box.
Indoor placeables
We are adding a ton of new items that you can decorate the interior of your house. Don't worry we are going to add a lot more things to house upgradability down the line to make you have a bigger home to decorate!
Home management tab
We added a couple of new functionalities to the workbench. You will be able to change your door code and set turrets to passive mode. Turret passive mode lets people come inside your yard without turrets attacking them. But if they raise weapons turrets will activate. So just like they work outside the house area currently. You can set all turrets to passive all individual ones by clicking on them.
Quest system
Right now the game does not do any hand-holding for the player and we still like giving the player freedom to play in their own way. But we feel like for new players some guidance at the very start would make a huge difference to make the learning process feel less overwhelming. The quest system for now will not have any story elements to it. This way we can easily implement it and add multiple things quickly that will make players have more ways to play in the sandbox. The starting "quest line" we are adding soon is a series of tasks that the player is given at the very beginning when a player joins a new island. This will guide them on how to make their first marks (Mk) and buy and set up a tent.

Hi you all. New character customization and the trading update seems to have received a warm welcome. There is still a couple of issues with the player-owned vendors but these will be ironed out in the next update. NOTE: Only official servers are affected by wipes. Unofficial server owners can decide for themselves when to wipe their servers Next week there is the next scheduled wipe (17.6.2022) that we have planned. We are slowly but surely moving away from wipes and implementing the decay as a solution to preventing house overflow on servers. This month we are going to have update 1.0.7b next week to go alongside the official server wipe. And a bigger 1.0.8 update which I will talk more about in next chapters. -Nilsson
Server browser improvements
We are going to add information about the server in the server browser that will help you decide which server is the best place to start your new adventure! We are adding a PVP filter that lets you find only peaceful islands that have turned Player Versus Player combat OFF in the server settings. These islands are wonderful places to start as a new player if you just want to learn or just hang out! Also, we are adding a percentage that tells you how much space is still available on the island before you jump in. This lets you avoid servers that don't have space to put down even a single tent.
New placeables
For a little sneak peek of the new things coming in the 1.0.8 update coming later this month check out all the new items our artists have been making!
Quest system
We have also started to work on a new quest system that lets you earn rewards by doing certain types of tasks that you can do on the island. This system will be also used to create starting tutorial so that new players have an easier time figuring out what they can do in the game when they first start!

Character Customization
Nilsson
Long waited customization is finally implemented. You can now choose between all the colors that were in the game before. And as an added feature there are now different hair styles that you can choose from and change color. You can test it out in the experimental build of the game!
Player Trading
We wanted to add two different ways to trade with other players. You can invite people to trade with you by clicking and selecting the "trade" option from the menu. This will open a trading menu where you can exchange items and Mk safely.
A second way to trade items is to set up your own shop next to your house by placing down a new player vendor item! The vendor has to be placed on the border of your property so other players can safely shop. You can add any items inside the vendor and set a price that you think is the best.
Placeable Solar Panels
The next in line for electricity generation is peaceable solar panels. These are not as useful for powering turrets because they only work during the day. We will soon add items that do not require constant electricity flow in order to be useful. Here in the picture, you can also see a new model of the Code locked gate.
Test all these new features early in the experimental branch!
Here's how you can participate:
Experimental servers are only in US and EU regions.

Hello, I hope everyone is having a wonderful spring. Now that we have finally got most of the features of EOS to the current standard. I have had more time to focus on gameplay and balance. Our team has expanded now and it is starting to show off in bigger updates. I'm very optimistic about what the future will hold for the game! -Nilsson
Wipes
Nilsson
NOTE: wipes only affect official servers with a blue checkmark. Unofficial servers can choose and decide their own wipes. Now because house decay has been implemented we want to move the bi-weekly wipe to a monthly wipe. So the next wipe after today will be in 17.6.2022
House Decay
Nilsson
I added a second tab to the workbench window, this one is called decay. The idea is not to make it like a job to keep your house running. Now the house "consumes" 1 wood in 3 hours. Max capacity it can hold is 60. And once the wood has run out the house needs to be without wood for 24 hours before it decays. This makes it take about 7 days for a house to decay if there is no upkeep. Keep in mind that this can be disabled with the same setting that disables tent decay. Also, houses will not decay if the server is off. I want to hear your feedback about this so comment down below what you think about this!
Placing helpers
Nilsson
I added the first two helper shapes while placing the turret and tent. The turret now shoots only players who walk to the house area. I wanted to add an indication element that better illustrates this area. Here are pictures of this in action
Dedicated server tool on steam and video tutorial
Nilsson
I always wanted to Longvinter to be something that can be easily experienced with friends. I have now created a full tutorial on how to setup the server and configure it! [previewyoutube=hJY2UUQCsrQ;full][/previewyoutube]
Placeable electricity generator
Nilsson
There is now a peaceable generator in the kyrre's equipment shop that you can buy and place near your house. This will require fuel to run and generates 40 electricity while near a house. Please note that an electricity transmitter is required in order for turrets to work.
Here are all the changes in a nice list format:
New features:
- Added turret range indicator when placing the turret.
- Added base building area indicator while placing a tent
- Added House decay to the bases. - Decay wood stack will have 60 wood and it takes 3 hours to consume 1 wood - After all, wood is decayed, it will take 24 hours before base is destroyed. All items inside the house will be gone but outside placeables can be picked up by others - This can be disabled with tentDecay server parameter
- Added generator placeable which generates 40 electricity while turned ON. Note that house requires electricity transmitter for turrets to work
- Increased cake base price by 50% to make it worth more than the ingredients
- Made Redfish and Black Grouper from Rare to Epic they don't spawn in Julias Mysterios shop anymore
- Increased Metal parts base price from 20mk to 100mk
- Removed Mysterios bag from spawning into Julias Mysterios shop
- Made Julias Mysterios items selling and buying price increase / decrease much faster when players buy items from the vendor. This makes it that the first person who arrives to shop after catalogue reset is rewarded more. This allows other users to buy / sell to vendors but with a heavy price increase. This is the same system that is on other vendors but on overdrive.
- Electricity changes: - Removed passive 30 electricity - Changed house fuel generator output from 80 110 - Changed Win turbine output from 30 50 - Changed solar panel output from 20 25
- Closing the chat with Esc should now work
- Shooting is now more reliable near objects (Firing cooldown is not started if the gun doesn't actually fire)
- Tents can no longer be placed inside houses or in the void
- Fishing rods should no longer disappear when switching equipment
- Zooming in and out should now work after using the admin panel
- The player should now be able to move when spawning in water
- Increased house exit attempts when dismantling to make exiting more reliable
- Fixed "Show Names" in admin panel. It now also shows names without the waving
- Warehouse roof should now go invisible when spawning inside the warehouse
- Last chat message no longer reappears after using a boat
- Fixed the bug where a character couldn't move if he died while using the chat
- Fixed the bug where inventory didn't work after dying when trying to place an item
- Fixed placeables disappearing when dying while placing
- Increased the house enter attempts so house enter should now be more reliable
- Fixed player color and spawn location back to normal before EOS update
- Locally hosted servers can now be joined from server browser again
This week's update is here a bit early. Here are all the changes that made it in:
- Fixed the turret bug where they would shoot their owner while aiming down a gun
- Fixed the melee exploit
- Added "a share house with team" button in the workbench menu
- Made admin log events do line break instead of overflow
- Fixed a crash that was caused by discord not running on a machine
- Linux now enabled for EAC
- Achievements are now re-enabled
- Fixed energy drink exploit
- Fixed the vendor window opening twice bug
- Servers are now sorted by region in the server browser
- You can now also search servers by a tag if you created a custom one and want to find it quicker, check out the server documentation on how to add a tag to your server
- Changed tarp price from 5 -> 40 mk and made it from common to rare
- Decreased the Planter Box price by 30%
- Added an engine model next to the houses that have upgraded the Electrical Engine from their house upgrade menu
- Ping is currently still not available in the server browser
- Continue button does not sometimes work correctly. It may throw you to the wrong server
- You cannot join the server that is run by the same machine running the game
Made the server browser "show more" button work. The current server limit is 200 and this is a limitation of the new system. I intend to solve this by adding all regions to different categories and adding the "private" category. Server owners stay tuned for more info later. I now built a native Linux version and pushed that to the live branch. I hope this will allow all Linux users to continue playing our game, please comment down below if the game is working! Next, I will answer some questions I have read in the comments. Wipe will be in 13.5.2020 we are now sticking to bi-weekly wipes. Updates are not tied to wipes so I will update when I have enough content and it's been tested well. If you are having problems with the admin panel, not opening. Steam ID WILL NOT WORK. Instead, you have to use a new user id that you can find in the game's general settings. There is a bug where your own turrets will shoot you if you aim your weapon near them. This will be fixed in Friday's update. If you are getting an error where Easy Anti Cheat is not installed. You can install it manually with installAntiCheat script found in the game folder. - Nilsson
Hello all, the wait is now over and finally all official servers are up again. Nilsson.
Anti cheat
Nilsson
Hello all. Anti-cheat update is finally here after being not sure how to fix the hard crashes that were happening earlier today. Because of Anti-cheat, we needed to migrate to the Epic Online Service platform. This only changes the server listening backend and you will have a different id when you log in to the server. Because of this, we needed to make the update at the same time as the wipe. There will be bugs during this migration process and I will work on these constantly. Our official servers are down for maintenance for today so please be patient and go check out some unofficial servers! We also have a couple of new members joining us already and they will start making new content while I continue making bug fixes and improvements to the new EOS system Thank you for understanding, and here is a list of some changes and known issues. Currently known issues:
- Sometimes when joining a game there is an infinite loading screen and this requires game restart.
- Achievements are disabled currently. There was a problem with EOS implementation.
- Servers don't show ping in the server browser. This is a limitation with EOS
- Turrets now only shoot hostiles outside of the house area
- Removed planter box from Julia's secret shop catalogue
- Fixed Alt + F4 dupe
- Fixed Container dupe
- Lootable containers can no longer be picked up
First I would want to apologize for the lack of communication there has been. Teo has a major burnout and has not had the will to work on the game but has been searching for new members to join our team as the work has grown exponentially recently. I know that many of you have been waiting for a wipe and I was even surprised how much some of you cared for the wipe and I am very honoured about that. I will later explain why we don't want to wipe this week. But I promise next week the wipe will happen on 29.4.2022 even if the new online system is not completed by then. - Nilsson
Anti cheat
Nilsson
The hackers have been a major part of why the game has been not fun for many players. This is why I started a process of enabling anti-cheat for our game. The installation did not take long but the new anti-cheat is so closely integrated with the different online system I needed to start migrating all our server listings and joining backend to the new system and this has been a relatively slow process to finish. I have managed to already get new servers listed but the joining is not working yet so this has to be resolved before we can move the stable branch to the new online system. The reason the lack of communication on my part is that the rabbit hole of enabling the new online system grows by every day. First I thought that I only need to get the anti-cheat running but then I also needed to make sure every client is running the anti-cheat and not just stopping it and continuing hacking as usual. And this lead me to discover how much of the new online system is required to integrate in order to get it working.

The turret change was still too drastic and we will be reverting that for now to original that player turrets shoot everyone near them
Hello again. It's time for another devlog again. Time flies super fast and I cannot believe it has already been a week since I returned from Lapland. This week I made good progress on the team system. Although it is not completely ready I don't want to make you wait any longer for it. We also spend some time this week managing our company's bureaucracy work and other mandatory things. We also are aware of the hackers that currently ruin many players' experiences. We will address this issue more in the coming weeks. For now, we will need to trust and thank our community admins for keeping the game clean from hackers as much as they can. Currently, we can make new logic and mechanics way faster than we can make models and art in general, so we've started hiring. If you know any modellers, riggers, animators, UE4 devs, please ask them to send their prior work to this email: contact@uuvana.com The header image is from community Discord user "elliot" - Nilsson
Wipe schedule
Nilsson
For now, we see that the best practice to prevent the islands from filling with houses is to wipe the progress completely. This is only a temporary solution before we can implement a better decay system for houses. Wipes will be done bi-weekly so the next wipe will be on 22.4.2022.
Team system improvements
Nilsson
A big feature that we wanted to add is to know where your friends are and find them easily without the Satellite Communicator. Once you are far enough from your teammate the colored bubble indicates which direction they are in. The color matches the player's shirt color.
You also now gain score by picking up flowers, fishing and hunting birds. You can see your teammates and your own score on the new team tab that is accessible from your inventory.
Julia's Mysterious Shop
Nilsson
This was idea from discord user @Izanagi. The mysterious shop has a changing catalogue that will re-roll every 90 minutes. These are located near points of interest and they sell and buy certain items for a specific time and are worth checking out every now and then. The machine shows in the description how much time until the new re-roll. The house electricity update has been a big grind because they require a lot of metal parts and light bulbs. These items are already common and should spawn most often. But on populated servers loot is gone really quickly very often. This was a quick bandage fix before we could add player trading and a more dynamic economy that way. You can separate these shops by their purple color as shown below.

Hello everyone! As you might have noticed, there was no devlog last week, and we're going to start doing bi-weekly devlogs from now on. It makes more sense time management-wise, but also there is not enough content to show off every week, content that would be in such a state that it would look good in pictures. Nilsson is going camping to do some "research" for the entirety of the next week, a quick vacation that he truly deserves, so no bug fixes next week. I'll be here the whole week, as usual, working on the character customization and some other stuff that will probably bring a lot of new playability to the game. Currently, we can make new logic and mechanics way faster than we can make models and art in general, so we've started hiring. Player feedback: March
Teo
I asked you guys and gals to complete a quick survey this week and some 160 of you participated, thanks a lot for that! The optional "tell us anything" was quite useful, and we read every single message you left there and contacted a couple of you that wanted to help us more! We asked you to pick one option out of the 5 that would make it easier for you to recommend the game to your friends and make it more fun. Here's how that went:
Here's the split on hours played between participants:
PVP is the winner here, PVE being a close second. These are quite broad questions without going into details on what exactly you'd want, but that's alright since I believe we know what the game needs. Some of you also explained what it is, in particular, that is missing so that's nice. We thought that fixing bugs would definitely be the biggest in percentage, but not at all. It's a given that they are fixed sooner or later, but I thought it was way more urgent than adding more content. Seems like I was wrong. This data is quite useful to us, but more so the optional messages you left, so we'll probably continue doing this at the end of every month from this point on.
New team system
Nilsson
The first feature from our road map has started to take shape and you can already test the team system in the experimental branch. You can invite anyone to your team by clicking them with your mouse. We are currently ironing out the inviting, joining and kicking users from teams. After those actions are smooth we want to add additional features such as seeing the location of your other teammates even if they are offscreen. We will also add a scoreboard where each team earns a rating that is based on their presence on the island. Your teammates are now highlighted with green to help you identify them from hostiles Here's what the UI will look like, minus some features:

Here's how you can participate:
- Fixed an issue where some turrets would not turn on if 2 house areas where overlapping each other
- Made entering house more reliable. Previously if the center of the house had items it would usually prevent players from entering. Now it tries 9 different locations inside the house before giving up
- Turrets now show how much energy they require when hovering a mouse over them
- House upgrade screen now shows how much each upgrade adds to total energy output
- Fixed a bug where in some instances the turrets gun spawned at the root of the model and not in it's intended place
- Fixed a bug where in some scenarios you could not get items out from crafting inventory
- Adjusted the arena turret range to not shoot people that are inside the arena
- Electricity transmitter now adds passive +30 electricity as temporary buff before more ways to generate electricity are added
- Lowered turret electricity requirement from 30 to 25. A low turret max capacity should encourage players to position their turrets in center of their property to protect their property and not to shoot people just passing by
- Fireplaces are now removed when dismantling the house
- Fixed player getting stuck behind the containers. See GitHub issue #200
- Fixed Placing duplication glitch where you could place 2 items with left mouse and spacebar
- Made another look how chest are saved. Discovered that there is certain scenarios where chest only saves id's. There is a possibility that disappearing chests were saved but their location was reset so they spawned in the 0 point of the map and not where they should have. Changed that the chest always saves everything about itself. Chest also saved them way too often which caused unnecessary load on server
- Fixed a pub glitch that allowed you to sell items in James recycler store and keep the items
- Fixed house property area rotation resetting after server restart
- Admin panel now has manual save button in the action tab
- You can now unban players that you have banned on your server
- Disabled discord initialization on server
- Map size was getting very big and a one suspicion I had is that the server ran out of memory when it tried to save all player placed items all at once. Now map is divided in 3 zones that are saved one after another. Hopefully this will make servers more stable
- Kills and turret sells are now shown in admin panel
- You can now plant seeds to autumn region
- Trees should now appear correct color when respawned after being cut
- Added backup system that saves all values every 6 hours. 3 different versions are stored and admin can load a version from admin panel
- Players should no longer respawn in other peoples houses
- Added global message that is showed to everyone when they start playing. Will be later used to inform about hotfixes and restarts
- Turrets now use electricity. And will be turned off if there is not enough
- Added message to bottom of main menu that we can switch without updating the game
- Added admin tool to send message to every player that is playing on the server currently
This update should be quite relieving for the high population servers. For starters, there's a whole new island next to the main-land, and secondly, tents now decay if not upgraded in time! Personally, I feel like the speed at which new content is added is still not what it should be, mainly because of my time being divided between so many other equally as important things, and to add to it, those other important things, which are mostly business-related things, really eat away the creativity in a major way. I think we'll learn to manage that as we go forward and as things settle down a little bit! Now that the damage control is mostly done, when will we get a roadmap, you may ask? Next week! I hope you enjoy this update. Please report any issues you may find on our Discord! - Teo
New Island: Isla Inocentes
Teo
The new island is horizontally as large as the main-land but slimmer. It has new fish, a new plant, and a new vendor. I promised a new type of POI, but I sacrificed it for new fishes instead. The new POI is coming later, and the main-land AND this new island will be gradually filled with more interesting locations!
New House Upgrades
Nilsson
Workbench lets you now choose your energy production method. When you upgrade you can see your house's electricity production in the workbench tab. Currently electricity has no use. But next week's update will add electricity requirements for some items for example turrets and lights!
Tent Decay And No Wipe
Nilsson
Island has been packed with houses and new players are still having a hard time finding places to add their base. Now all the tents will decay after 48 hours. If you upgrade your base to a wooden cabin this will stop the decay process. In a future, we might add some kind of upkeep to the cabins also but we want to wait a week and see how this change affects the free building area. You can view any tent's decay time by hovering the mouse over it. Keep in mind that server restart also resets the tent decay time.
Other changes
- Added 4 new fish - Cooking now has its own sound - Added battery icon (made by community member 'Matavatar' <3) - New plant: Chanterelles - Added Chanterelle Soup - Added Hunting Hat model - Added new vendor 'Pix' - Moved Mezereon world location - Added 2 new travel points - Moved the player respawn point to the inside the house to prevent spawn killing - Fixed a couple of duplications related to item placing. Thanks to @Tucker for figuring these ones out! - Tent decay can be viewed by hovering the mouse over the tent all tents will now Decay after 48 hours

Issues with saving seem to be solved now, at least we haven't gotten any reports of progress resets on Discord, other than some random chests not spawning after a server restart, so here's hoping we fixed it, for now. There's a new tent limit that we wanted to test, so we wiped the official servers to see how it affects the available space on the island after a week. I myself got to do a lot of new content this week, which is always cool, and I'll be showing some of that on this devlog! - Teo
Dynamic vendor prices
We wanted the game to feel more like a multiplayer game where player interactions have even more impact on the world around them. In today's update, we re-enabled the Vendor dynamic prices. This system has two main components one that changes prices randomly over time and the second which is affected by what is sold to a vendor and bought from a vendor. For example, if all the players are selling common pike fish to a single vendor its price will drop to a minimum of 50% of the original price. This will force people to either stash their fish and wait for a price to go back up and then sell in bulk. Or the player can try to find another vendor that buys the item for a better price.
Autumn Biome + Island
Teo
You'll have to start updating your community-made maps soon because there's a new island coming most likely next week, called "Isla Inocentes". it's horizontally as large as the mainland but vertically much slimmer. Right now the island is divided into 3 separate islands that are connected with building blocked bridges. This island will be the new home for the Capercaillie birds and mushrooms, which I'll hopefully get done by the end of next week. There will also be a new type of looting POI that players can explore, but more on that next week!
Bugs fixes and house Dismantle feature
Nilsson
The first week in the new experimental/stable development model has started well. The stable version of the game was in a pretty horrific state the whole week but I wanted to still keep changes in experimental a while before pushing things to stable so as to not break everything again.
Quality of life changes
I managed to fix 4 duplication bugs. Prevent players from spawning into the black void. And a couple of logical changes to picking up and placing items. These made the player experience more enjoyable but this is only the start. I will try to focus more on new features but I will also dedicate a day or two every week to fix issues with the current systems.
New house dismantle feature and turret changes
Now Every player can only have 2 tents/houses on a server at any given time. This hopefully greatly lessens the houses in a server and allows more players to fit in. You can dismantle your base from the workbench menu. Keep in mind that this will wipe everything inside the house so remove everything except the workbench before you dismantle the base. We got a great suggestion from one of our community members about making base yards raidable. Now turrets go disabled if you shoot them enough. They will be disabled for 60 seconds and then reactivate. We have more planned for the raiding mechanics but this change was a fast and easy way to make big changes in how turrets behave.
More house upgrades next week
Nilsson
Next week I will focus on making the house have more things you can upgrade such as bigger interiors and visual changes outside. If you want to be an early tester for new features I would highly suggest you download the beta branch from steam go to experimental servers to try out new features. Below are instructions on how to do them! Here's how you can participate:

We decided to wipe all official servers because they were filled with houses. We hope the new 2 player house limit will slow down the real estate claim. Here are all the changes in today's update. - Made login smoother by adding in delay between letting players in. Should no longer spawn players in the black void - Fixed an issue where an item could not be picked up near your own tent - The arena box now respawns correctly - Fixed duplication glitch where you could make infinite wood with slow ping - Fixed duplication glitch where people could pick up the same item twice - Fixed duplication glitch when adding and removing stuff fast from chests caused some items to duplicate - Paintings now drop to the ground in houses after being picked up - Fixed auto-detect setting from putting settings too low and breaking the water - You can now dismantle your house from the workbench. You can now have only 2 active houses - Reverse rotate placeables with Shift-R - Increased ammo price - Language selection now saves - Tried to apply a fix for a kill and construction achievements - Made changes to the way tents check for other people's property. Should now let you put it down more reliably - Added Dutch, Spanish Latin America, Vietnam and Russian languages - Fixed a bug where you could get random items from James recycler by selling first and then buying back the same item. This was caused by desync between player and server inventories - James vendor UI is now removed if the player dies while it is on - Added small space between the feather and bird meat. Sometimes caused the player only to get 2 meats and no feathers- There was an error when calculating the farming hat buff effect on the harvest. The 30% reduction was actually calculated for nearly 300% buff. Now should be milder - Player placed chest can now be destroyed so they can no longer be used as fence - Energy drinks gave big movement speed buff in the status effect ended in the water. Movement speed is now correctly restored - Added the vendor price fluctuation system back after fixing the bug that caused all items to change to wood and matches. This system will drive vendor prices up and down randomly. Also, players that buy and sell stuff to vendors will cause prices to change. Buying increases the price and selling lowers it. After a while price ticks near, its original starting price. You can see the price change percentage next to the MK in vendor UI. James recycler will not be effect by this system - Changed the way player based turrets behave. They can now take damage but instead of destroying after 0 health, they go disabled for 60 seconds. After this time they return to normal. Thanks to @Fyreblade for this suggestion.

We've added the first completed translations to the game, which were fully translated by our amazing community members around the world!
We used, and are still using Crowdin for this, and you can contribute to the translation of the game there! As new content is released, the translations need to be updated at the same time, so even though some languages are "100%" now, they still need constant updates in the future!
Languages added:
- Thai
- Korean
- Simplified Chinese
- German
- French
- Spanish, Latin America
Special thanks to Discord user and active community member tucker#2003 who helped translate the game to Thai AND also pointed out that our Thai font did not fit the game and donated us a better one!
Here's the current member list from Crowdin (not in activity order)
- Finally, the new player save system has been experimental and seems to work perfectly. Please note that saving should start working AFTER PLAYING the first time. There might be still missing progress when logging in the first time after the update - Fixed a bug where chest stays locked when player logouts when using it - Fixed a bug where workbench would show as a cooking station when first opened - Made entering house more reliable even after putting stuff on top of the entrance. Now players should always be able to enter their house - Applied a fix where turrets were shooting at the house owner - Item price changes - New language menu Please note that saving happens on the server-side so some unofficial servers might not have the latest version.

Longvinter has been out for a week now and what a week it has been! We've fixed a lot of major and minor issues and I've started to work on new content!
We are amazed at how active you guys have been on Discord, helping people, chatting with each other, giving suggestions, and helping us with the problems we've had! So, thanks for that and let's keep the wheel rolling!
Also, thanks a lot to our Discord mods Artur, SirNugg3ts, Biffot, and daneelr_olivaw! The awesome community we have would not exist the way it does now if it wasn't for you guys. There are also the VIP members that have helped us in different ways on Discord and elsewhere, you know who you are, thanks a lot!
Now, this week we spent our time mostly fixing issues, but in the future, expect to see new upcoming content on these devlogs!

Vote for new content
Teo
Artur made a new channel on Discord where you can vote on which content addition or change you'd like to see added in the future. I'll keep an eye on the community suggestion channel, and pick new content from there to post for you to vote on as much as I can. We'll make some content that is not for voting, things we have already decided on, but as I said, I'll use it as much as I can! Join our Discord to participate!
Experimental Branch
Nilsson
It's been a week since launch, and it taught us to not push updates on the main branch when there are +400 concurrent players trying to play the game. Us being on Early Access shouldn't be an excuse for an unstable gameplay experience. Going forward, we'll push the latest changes to a public experimental branch, where you can try out the latest content and fixes. Here's how you can participate:
You can join an official server with "EXPERIMENTAL" in the name, the password is "experimental"
This week's changes worth mentioning
- Players can now shoot when there is flowers or wheat next to them - Players should no longer get stuck in each other when entering a house at the same time - Lowered hunting 25 ammo pack price by 25% - Removed legacy spectate feature - Player save loading uses a new loading function - Safe area turrets are now invincible - Workbench wood progression now saved and should remain the same even after server restart after this update - Admin Panel improvements - Fixed a bug where ban required the server to restart before taking effect - Firepit now gives energy, has smoke - Fixed a bug where trees could not be destroyed on PVE servers - Fixed Fishing Hat not showing - Lowered wood to upgrade tent requirement to 100 from 200 - Day/night cycle is now about 40% slower - Cannot place anything on top of fishing spots anymore - Changed the save system to keep track of when saving and not allow players to load in during the save process. This should lessen the number of progress wipes currently - Major network optimization with 50% less packets sent Cover picture was taken by Discord user: Miko
