Week 13 Update. Version 0.3.11 Changelist

Information about some combat/difficulty changes and new modifiers in this update are in the Patch Info section below. This coming week we'll be focused again primarily on upcoming features so there may not be time for an update next week. The new voxel system has been written and needs to be integrated and some improvements to the enemy art workflow will follow on from that which will not only allow us to more easily add and modify enemies, but also is required for any potential mod/Workshop support for custom characters in the future. The new voxel system not only fixes the remaining issues with decapitation, but also significantly improves performance when performing large amount of decapitations in a frame such as when using Berserk and Smite. Also on the potential future mod support/Workshop front we've began prototyping ideas for a level editor. There are a number of technical obstacles that need to be dealt with to allow custom levels, but things are looking positive for a fairly simple, easy to use level editor being available down the line. This coming week we'll be trying to get the networking backend to a point where we can create a beta branch for testing multiplayer connections.

Patch Info


In this weeks patch we've added some new modifiers that allow you to use Smite and Berserk without going into slow motion, make your attacks knock enemies further, make your punches and kicks give a shock and make approx 40% of random enemies on a level your allies. We've also made some minor changes to player and enemy attacks, kicking and player movement with the goal of making standing and trading + crowd control with KOs a bit more viable than just backing away.   • New Modifiers: No Slow-Mo, Harder Hitter, Shocking Touch, Random Friends
  • Increased player punch rate
  • Increased player weapon attack speed
  • Slightly increased player punch damage
  • Slightly decreased enemy attack speed
  • Slightly increased power kick recovery
  • Player moves slower the less forward the move direction
  • Blocking an attack fully recovers power kick bar
  • Lower limit for number of shotgun shot hits/penetration
  • Somewhat improved disconnecting ragdoll hands and feet at high speeds
  • Display list of active modifiers on win/lose screen
  • Lowered power kick bar filled sound volume
  • Fixed allies not working in subsequent levels after having them turn on you
  • Fixed boxer attack rate

  • Paint the Town Red is a chaotic first person melee combat game set in different locations and time periods. The voxel-based enemies can be punched, bashed, kicked, stabbed and sliced completely dynamically using almost anything that isn't nailed down.

    You'll need to use your wits, speed and anything you can get your hands on in epic bar fights, disco brawls, old west saloon rumbles, college frat house beat-downs and a lot more.
