What's New in Version 3.2.8

This small update fixes a problem with displaying intro dialog for variants of Steam Workshop heroes and villains.

[ 2022-03-22 21:09:50 CET ] [ Original post ]

What's New in Version 3.2.7: Bug Fixes!

This update includes lots of bug fixes (see below) and also improves support for Steam Deck. As part of these improvements, the resolution dialog will no longer be displayed by default at launch on Linux. To access the resolution dialog, you can hold the shift, ctrl, or alt key when starting the game. Or to show it every launch, add the -show-screen-selector argument to the game's Steam launch options. The most notable bug fixes:

  • Damage to Faultless is now correctly calculated when there are multiple increases and reductions.
  • If a target is hit by multiple instances of damage from a single effect and they switch cards (e.g. Sky-Scraper or OblivAeon), the switched in card is no longer damaged again.
  • Steam Workshop variants will now be properly disabled when mods are disabled in a multiplayer game (e.g. if a mobile player joins the game).
  • Fixed a problem where OblivAeon mode could get stuck in certain cases with The Sentinels.
  • Lead from the Front now properly redirects damage dealt by Heroic Infinitor (who is a villain card, but a hero target).
  • Rudder in the Timestream no longer gets stuck with empty discard piles when Isolated Hero is in play.
  • Destroying projections while Violent Nightmares is in play no longer causes them to be removed from under The Dreamer.
  • If both damages from Rend Minds & Souls are redirected to a single character, they only have to destroy one card.
  • Fixed a problem where Dark Watch NightMist's 3rd incapacitated ability did not always work with mission rewards.
  • Improved decision prompts for Craft Services Table and other cards with The Sentinels.
  • Spite now properly hits Sky-Scraper from PL626 Compound Xi if she switches character cards during the power use.
  • When Vitalized Thorns is revealed from the environment deck and played, it counts as being played from the environment deck.
  • Targets moved under Resurrection Ritual while dealing damage will no longer continue dealing damage.
  • Grasping Shadow Cloth no longer tells you what the top card of the Scion deck is if it prevents a card being played from there.
  • If OblivAeon changes pages during its end of turn damage, it will not continue performing any actions from the previous page.
  • Incapacitated abilities now work properly with repeated decisions.
  • Fixed a problem where the game could get stuck if you destroy Spite: Agent of Gloom on challenge mode during his card play phase.
  • Paradoja Figurehead can now be moved to play areas where there is a face-down copy (or a copy underneath another card).
  • Fixed a problem interaction with Maze of Mirrors and Global Devastation that could allow OblivAeon to damage itself.
Plus there are several fixes and improvements for Workshop developers:
  • Added a few more special characters to various fonts. If you include font sprite atlases in your mod, you must update the font bitmaps in your mod, or your cards will be unreadable in this version. Make sure to update your mod with a new version number to ensure it will be downloaded to all players. Details about using fonts can be found in the resource guidelines.
  • The contents of Workshop items with only variants (no decks) will now be properly shown on the Workshop screen.
  • Fixed a regular expression bug in Applied Numerology.
  • Fixed a problem where RevealCards_MoveMatching_ReturnNonMatchingCards could leave some cards stuck in the revealed area in certain cases.
  • Improved card source propagation for methods including SelectCardsAndDoAction.
  • Environment cards can now show up to 5 nemesis icons in the full card view.
  • Using mod variants in a game now prevents official variant unlocks and achievements (like using mod decks already did).
  • Cross-mod opening lines can now be consistently specified using fully qualified identifiers.
  • A cancelled flip card action no longer animates flipping the card unnecessarily.
  • Fixed a bug with selecting mod variants in multiplayer when you have locked official variants.
  • Villain placeholder art will now be shown on the game ending screen.

Enter the Modiverse: Steam Workshop Now Live!

Steam Workshop for Sentinels of the Multiverse is now fully available for all to enjoy. Mod authors have been hard at work creating amazing content during the beta period. There are more than 100 decks currently available! Visit the Workshop to subscribe to mods, and visit our website to learn more about how to create your own.
In Sentinels, mod content will be available to play in the New Game screen. To see details of the content similar to the Multiverse screen, click the Workshop button on the main menu, select a mod, then click Show All Content.
You can play online multiplayer games with mods, but only with other players on Steam (not on mobile). When you create a game and a friend joins, they will be prompted to install or update any mods as needed. Mods are not available on mobile (iOS or Android). In the future we would like to bring successful mods to mobile as DLC, if its feasible.

The Future of the Multiverse!

This past Friday, October 16th, marked the 6 year anniversary of Sentinels of the Multiverse making its debut on the digital tabletop. In honor of the occasion, we held a live stream looking back on where weve been, but also looking forward at where we may take the multiverse in the future! [previewyoutube=fwSiUd8bEzo;full][/previewyoutube] If you missed the live stream, or just dont have the time to watch, read on for a breakdown of what we covered.

Season 2 Finale

Sentinels of the Multiverse version 3.1 (released on October 14th) brings Challenge Modes to all the remaining team villains, Trickster Kismet, and OblivAeon, completing the penultimate stretch goal unlocked during the Kickstarter. The final stretch goal was the Sounds of Victory goal which brought an album of hero theme music (also released on October 14th). With the release of these 2 items, Season 2 has officially wrapped. You can currently get the new soundtrack from our store, Bandcamp, or Steam with other digital stores and streaming services coming soon. We also hosted a listening party where Jean-Marc walked us through all the new music, and Guise even stopped by to debut his new music video! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1430000/Heroes_of_the_Multiverse_Season_One/ Season 2 is complete, so now its time to focus on what comes next.

Steam Workshop

Now that all official content has been shipped, where will new content come from? From you of course! We announced on Friday that we have started development on Steam Workshop support for Sentinels of the Multiverse. In brief, this means that we have begun to build support for players modifying the game - new heroes, variants, villains, environments and more could all be possible. Since this feature is all about the community, were also taking a different approach to the development and bringing the community right into the process. You can catch up on the first dev stream here. It starts with the team introducing themselves and talking about the project at a high level. We go into some of the details of what will be involved for us to support mods and what it will take for you to make one. Then John gets right into some prototyping work. We'll be live streaming development every Friday afternoon at 1 PM Eastern. Tune in to see how it's going and get involved!

The Future

Beyond Workshop support, what else could we see in the future?

Sentinels of Earth-Prime

Currently expected to go to print by the end of the year, Sentinels of Earth-Prime is a Sentinels Engine game but based in the Mutants and Masterminds universe. Once this is shipping, it could very well make its way to digital.

Console Release

Would you like to play Sentinels on your Playstation, Xbox, or even on the go on Switch? We'd like you to, so this is something we continue to look into for the future.

Campaign/Story Mode

Another unreached stretch goal from Season 2 was a campaign or story mode for the game. Could this still be in the future, maybe as part of a console release plan?

Localization

We know there are heroes all across the world, and they dont all speak English. Weve looked into bringing additional languages to the game, but for the moment, this remains a bit outside our budget. But if you know of any publishers that would like to help out, have them get in touch!

Season Finale Update: Challenge Modes & New Achievements

As Sentinels Digital celebrates its 6th anniversary, this update adds Challenge Modes for Trickster Kismet, the Villains of the Multiverse, and OblivAeon. Plus, 16 new achievements are now available to unlock! Visit SentinelsDigital.com to learn more about the anniversary event, including an achievement contest. Also available today will be the Heroes of the Multiverse: Season 1 soundtrack album! This soundtrack features original theme songs for all of the heroes in the core game and Season 1 expansions. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1430000 There are a lot of bug fixes in this update! Here are the highlights:

  • Online multiplayer has been optimized and improved so it's easier to rejoin games.
  • The "Mobbed by Paparazzi" and "Extreme Hostage Situation" achievements now require a minimum of 1 hero turn to be played.
  • The Hunted Naturalist's power will work properly after Spite: Agent of Gloom changes into Skinwalker GloomWeaver.
  • Fixed an issue with Dr. Medico Malpractice's power causing damage multiple times incorrectly.
  • Lifeline - Blood Mage's third incapacitated ability now correctly damages only heroes, not all hero targets.
  • Construct Cataclysm allows you to damage fewer than X targets if you choose the second option.
  • Fixed a problem where temporary effects could incorrectly expire if La Capitan took an extra turn during a hero turn.
  • Shock Rounds will no longer be destroyed if damage is not actually dealt by the gun it is next to.
  • Termi-Nation Bunker's incapacitated ability now interacts correctly with Spite's drugs.
  • Fixed an issue where Heroes Unallied would not be destroyed if the damage was redirected and then prevented.
  • Backlash Field Generator now reacts correctly even if the damaged device is destroyed and put under La Capitan.
  • Drum of Despair now properly recognizes when hero cards are indestructible.
  • Improved drag and drop to play a card when the play area is scrolled up.
  • Unlocking a variant on the New Game screen while the hero/villain is selected now works correctly.
  • Number-based keyboard shortcuts now work on the numpad keys as well as the top row number keys.
  • Show All Targets no longer changes the keyboard shortcut for the Stop/Skip option.
Plus, many bugs in OblivAeon mode have been fixed:
  • Sky Deck will no longer put Aeon Men on top of the OblivAeon deck.
  • When OblivAeon destroys an environment due to changing pages, the players can choose which environment is destroyed.
  • Cards next to OblivAeon no longer are moved to Rainek Kel'Voss.
  • OblivAeon's second page end of turn effect now checks to see if hero character cards were dealt damage, not hero targets.
  • Fixed a problem interaction between Dark Mind and In Medias Res where a destroyed card could remain in play.
  • Playing Devastating Aurora (reward card) now properly counts as playing a hero card, so you don't draw an extra card in your draw phase.
  • Fixed issues with a target changing battle zones while dealing damage to multiple targets.
  • Take Down now stops Rainek Kel'Voss from playing OblivAeon cards.
  • Maintenance Level only shuffles hero trashes into their decks in its own battle zone.
  • Fixed an issue with Great Fortune where it could get stuck on limited cards already in play.
  • Reward cards in hero decks will now display in the proper order.
  • Cortex Hyperstimulator now works correctly when placed next to Scion panels.
  • Fixed various problems relating to Voss taking over OblivAeon.
  • Adamant Writhe's power can no longer cause Aeon Men to go to the bottom of OblivAeon's deck.
  • Grasping Shadow Cloth can no longer choose the Mission Deck.
  • If an objective card is indestructible due to Fixed Point, it can no longer be swapped out.
  • Fixed a problem where Wrest the Mind and similar cards could stay next to a mission card when it flips.
  • Hostage Situation (and other cards that require everyone to discard a card) now works properly when a hero in the other battle zone has no cards.
  • When no players are in a battle zone with River of Lava or Maintenance Level, they no longer ask about performing actions.
HEY! It's me, Guise. They also fixed all kinds of bugs that supposedly were related to me. I'm a bit skeptical though, as I'm pretty sure I was perfect already. Anyways, here's the list they sent me:
  • Added new voice lines for Completionist Guise and a few other things. If you already unlocked Completionist Guise, click here to hear what you should have heard! If you haven't, no cheating!
  • Uh Yeah, I'm That Guy! no longer counts for too many copies of certain cards. Aw, shucks!
  • Training Facility now allows Santa Guise to optionally use both his powers if he discarded a card. You better believe it!
  • Completionist Guise no longer incapacitates a hero when they swap in an incapacitated variant. Oops!
  • Putting an incapacitated Sentinel in your collection no longer interferes with Second Chance. It wasn't my fault!
  • When switching The Harpy's character cards with Completionist Guise, her tokens are now preserved. It was an accident I swear!
  • Fixed a layout issue when flipping over Guise's foil character card. Finally!
Whew! That's it! Have fun!

Version 3.1.1 Hotfix Update

This update has more bug fixes:
  • Fixed a problem where Any Time, Any Place may not unlock. If you defeated all the environments in the previous version, defeat one of them again to unlock the achievement.
  • Fixed a problem where Destroy the Destroyer or Ultimate Victory would not unlock.
  • Fixed issues with revealed cards in certain situations in OblivAeon mode.
  • Fixed a problem where Wrong Time and Place could react incorrectly.
  • The Ultimate Target now works correctly in all cases with True Purpose.
  • Meager Winnings no longer allows you to choose a target with full HP so that it doesn't gain HP.

What's New in Version 3.0.8: Performance + Bug Fixes

As you know, we launched Aeon's End back in September (mostly). What you may not know is that for almost the entire last month of development, the team spent a huge chunk of their time tuning the engine and UI of the game to be easily our slickest, fastest, most streamlined experience to date. If you played the Early Access builds, you likely noticed the speed increases over time. These enhancements started in the engine, but really apply to every aspect of the game. So why does this matter to Sentinels players? Because after Aeon's End launched, David informed us that it wouldn't be too difficult to bring some of those optimizations to some of our previous games! The first fruits of this endeavor have arrived in version 3.0.8 of Sentinels of the Multiverse which is available now. In addition to the usual bug fixes, this update also brings speed increases of up to 30% in some areas of the game! What else is updated in this version? Fixed a problem where the game could hang if a hero was incapacitated on their own turn in OblivAeon mode. The game no longer gets stuck if two limited cards already in play are revealed by Great Fortune. Fixed an issue where Brain Burn would not work properly in some cases in OblivAeon mode. Fixed a problem where Moving Target would not react if damage was both redirected and prevented. Fixed an interaction between Stripped Resources and Crystalloid Behemoth so that it is player choice where the Behemoth goes when destroyed. Fixed a timing issue between In Medias Res and distortion cards in the Realm of Discord. Various other small bug fixes and improvements have been made.

Spirit Island Campaign Nearly Complete

The Spirit Island Campaign Has Arrived!

After working with Greater Than Games on Sentinels of the Multiverse and Bottom of the 9th, we partnered with other companies to make One Deck Dungeon and Aeon's End. But it's now time for our 5th digital tabletop game, and for this one we're partnering once again with our good friends at GTG. Say hello to Spirit Island! [previewyoutube=_MaCV8A-BNE;full][/previewyoutube] Spirit Island is a deep strategy cooperative game (what can we say, we like the co-op). Players take on the roles of the spirits of the island, and need to work together to build their powers. Protect the land and the native islanders, the Dahan, from the colonizing Invaders spreading blight and destruction! Lots of Sentinels fans already know and love Spirit Island (it is the home of the Nexus of the Void after all). The game itself seems very different than Sentinels on the face of it. Simultaneous turns? A board to control? But we promise, that sweet, sweet co-op gameplay you know and love from Sentinels is here in spades. Team up with several powerful spirits to drive those colonists back into the sea!

What's New in Version 3.0 - OblivAeon the End of the Multiverse!

The heroes of Earth and beyond have fought against the effects of an unknown cosmic power for a long time, and each time they managed to prevail. However, other realities and timelines have not been so fortunate. The goal of this cosmic entity's encroachment upon the Multiverse has been the collapse of all realities and timelines into a singularity which will self-implode, leaving naught but OblivAeon, the true heir to nothingness.
OblivAeon itself has manifested on Earth in this timeline to put an end to the pitiful resistance. If it succeeds, everything will be destroyed. However, if the heroes are able to stop OblivAeon, the cracks which run through all realities will be repaired as the cosmic power that created them is destroyed, effectively cutting the timelines and realities off from each other. One way or another, the Multiverse ends here. https://store.steampowered.com/app/467515 OblivAeon is a mega-expansion now available as DLC. It includes five heroes, five environments, and the final Multiverse-ending boss battle scenario! OblivAeon is $11.99 (USD) when purchased standalone, and is included in Season Pass 2, still at its pre-order price of $24.99 (USD) through Monday, March 25. If you already own Season 2, theres nothing else to buy! The new content will be added to your game automatically once you update to version 3.0.

Aeon's End 100% Funded Sentinels Dev Update

The Kickstarter project for Aeon's End Digital has reached 100% and is heading into achieving stretch goals! Thanks to all our backers, especially Sentinels players.
Aeon's End is a cooperative deck-building game where you struggle to defend the city of Gravehold from The Nameless and their hordes using unique abilities, powerful spells, and, most importantly of all, your wits. We are excited to be working with designer Kevin Riley from Action Phase Games, as well as Indie Boards and Cards to bring Aeons End to Steam. Visit the campaign to try the playable demo (recently extended) and see for yourself!

OblivAeons End: Sentinels Crossover Info

Recently we announced that NightMist will be crossing over into Aeon's End if we can reach her stretch goal. How has NightMist ended up in the world of Aeon's End? Let Christopher Badell tell you the tale.. Faye Diamond was not just a paranormal investigator. Sure, its a decidedly weird job, but things got even weirder while she was infiltrating a witch-cult and ended up cursed by magical mists, making her physical form one of more mists than substance. This also innately connected her to otherworldly magics, and Faye took the name of NightMist, fighting discordian forces from beyond our realm. But that is all ancient history. Much later, she was cleansed of her curse while fighting a dangerous villain with bizarre devices - one such device was meant to regress her powers, but it actually rid her body of the curse of the mists! While this was definitely an improvement for Ms. Diamond, it also cut her connection to the forces of magic, and she was back to just being an investigator, albeit one with a lot of first-hand knowledge. However, when a team of arcanely-powerful villains sought to take control of the world, Faye delved back into her magical ways, researching her tomes and manuscripts, seeking any knowledge that would allow her to stop this dreaded magical onslaught. As she grew more and more desperate, she ultimately gave into temptation and sought help from the most dangerous and unpredictable form of power: the Void itself. Faye Diamond pulled on the magic of the Void, but its pull was far stronger. It drew her into the Void, and there she was trapped for time unknowable, transforming into a being of pure magic to survive the eddies of energy within the Void. The passage of time within the Void is unfathomable by the human mind. Even still, Faye was becoming less and less human with each passing second day eon? Who can say? She struggled against her Void-prison, seeking any avenue of exit, and fighting against the powerful denizens of the Void for centuries, subjectively. So, when she felt a weakness in the fabric of the Void, she lept for it, tearing her way into a new reality and leaving what she knew behind. Now, the Void-powered creature who was once Faye Diamond has materialized in a new place called Gravehold. Terrible clashes between powerful mages and the monstrous nameless plague this world, but NightMist has never been one to back down from a challenge. Though she misses those shes left behind, she joins the ranks of those who defend this new reality. Mechanics So how will she play? As before, the following design by Kevin Riley is in the very early stages and is subject to change. NightMists journey through the Void has left her powers in an even more volatile state than before. In Sentinels of the Multiverse, she leverages the chaos of her transformation to her advantage. In Aeons End, that will be no different. As in Sentinels, all cards in NightMists deck will have a special number on them which will likely range from 1-3. In Aeon's End that will be called the Void number. In addition, the supply cards will also have a Void number when NightMist is in the game. Each card in a supply pile will have a different Void number. The higher the number, the bigger its effect. By giving each supply card a different Void number, she will have different decisions based on what she wants to optimize for. Starter: Suffer 1 damage and gain a charge. Reveal a random card in your deck and deal damage equal to its Void number. Ability: Prevent damage you would take this turn and gain life equal to the Void number of a random card in your deck. -- OR -- Reveal three random cards in your deck, suffer 1 damage for each card revealed this way, and deal damage equal to their combined Void numbers. In Sentinels, NightMist often reveals the top card of her deck and does an effect based on the number of that card. Given the no-shuffling nature of Aeons End, revealing the top card of your deck is perhaps not chaotic enough to capture that essence. More testing will be required to hone in on what the best design is. Additionally, her IV breach is a Void breach. When a spell is cast from her Void breach, NightMist suffers 1 damage. That spell deals additional damage equal to its Void number. Note: Everything here is subject to change during play testing. We hope that this design translates enough of what makes NightMist special and memorable in Sentinels of the Multiverse while creating an awesome new way to play Aeons End on digital!

Sentinels Development Update

Work is continuing on the remaining mega-expansion for Season 2: Oblivaeon! We plan to get it into beta testing this month and begin previewing it on Handelabra Live soon. You can get a sneak peek of Lifeline on a recent stream with LewdDolphin and AnotherLetdown. Also, we are preparing a significant maintenance update with many bug fixes and a couple new features. Watch out for that soon!

Anniversary update + Aeons End Now Live!

October has ended, and Sentinels digital has now begun its 5th year. Thank you to everyone who participated in the big celebration last month. Due to your generosity, we raised more than $4,000 for Childs Play Charity! After four years, over 250,000 copies of Sentinels are out in the world, countless expansions have been sold and only one more expansion is left to be launched. Speaking of that, well have more info for you about OblivAeon soon, but for now

OblivAeons End

Our next game is now live on Kickstarter! It's not hard to find players talking about how Aeons End and Sentinels scratch the same cooperative gameplay itch. From the designer himself: "It might not surprise you that SotM was one of the games we learned the most from when making Aeon's End." We think you'll find a lot to love in the variety and depth of Aeons End. Visit the campaign to try the 5-10 minute playable demo and see for yourself! In Aeons End, you harness the powers of the breaches to power your magic spells. Were sure nothing could possibly go wrong tapping into portals in this way. And were positive that theres no way different worlds could somehow be linked through these breaches. Definitely not. Unless someone went mucking about with Void energy. But no one would do that right?

What's New in Version 2.8 - Mini-Pack 5: Void Guard!

The team formerly known as the Southwest Sentinels have gone through a lot of changes lately. They each made a difficult choice in bonding with Oblivion Shards from deep within the top secret Project Ironclad installation hidden under Fort Adamant, increasing their power, but also opening them up to cosmic assault. Now, the team of Doctor Medico, Mainstay, The Idealist, and Writhe go by a new name: Void Guard. Under that name, they fight against the end of all things and hold back the Void when no one else can.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/467514/Sentinels_of_the_Multiverse__MiniPack_5_Void_Guard Mini-Pack 5: Void Guard is now available. It includes Dr. Medico, The Idealist, Mainstay, and Writhe. Season Pass 2 owners will automatically receive Mini-Pack 5 This update also includes a new feature that allows repeated decision-making. In some situations in Sentinels of the Multiverse, you want to make the same decision over and over. For example, if you play Twist the Ether on a villain target, you might want to reduce the damage dealt by that target every time. The repeating decision feature allows you to do that! This feature can be used with most sorts of decisions. To repeat a decision, press and hold your answer until the button is filled up and indicates This Turn or Alll Game. From then on (for the duration specified), whenever that card would ask the same decision, it will be given the same answer. Let go of the answer outside of the button to cancel and avoid repeating the decision.
Your repeated decisions are tracked in the active effects panel, accessible from the lightning bolt button at the top of the screen. You can remove them at any time with the Clear buttons. If you use the Undo feature, or quit and continue the game, all of your repeated decisions will be cleared. Visit the How to Play section to learn more about it!

Official One Deck Dungeon Release Date: May 18

One Deck Dungeon will be leaving Early Access and entering retail release on Friday, May 18th. Additionally, the mobile release will happen 5 days later, on May 23rd on iTunes and Google Play. The retail price of the game will be $9.99 (USD) across all platforms.
A huge thanks goes out to all those who participated in Early Access. The game is so much better as a result of your thorough playtesting and feedback, both in terms of little things like visual polish, or big things like the undo feature. We couldn't have done it without you! The first of the DLC dungeons (Phoenix's Den) is now in testing, and the first DLC hero (Fanatic) will be in testing soon. You can read more about our mobile plans on our Kickstarter update.

One More Thing

We would hate for you to miss the Forest for the trees so today we have one more surprise for you...
In conversations with Chris from Asmadi after the Kickstarter funded, we all decided that we wanted to bring Forest of Shadows to digital as soon as possible. As a result, we’ve been sneakily working on the engine for it while we’ve been finalizing the retail release of One Deck Dungeon! There’s still tons of work to do, but we’re much further along that you might guess (since before today, a good guess would be “they haven’t even started”). Basically, we’re not out of the woods yet. But we are trunking right along and branching into new areas for this expansion, and we promise to let you know when it’s ready to leaf development! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHB6wWApQv0

Fall of the Variants Continues, One Deck Dungeon Now On Kickstarter

Greetings Sentinels! Have you been trying out the new variants every week? We hope so! There have already been 9 new variants added, and there’s still plenty more to go. This week's addition is Dark Conductor Argent Adept, just in time for Halloween! Keep an eye out for a 2.5.7 update coming soon that will add support for even more variants. To get a sneak peek, watch Sentinels Live on Twitch every Tuesday at 7 pm Eastern.
We also wanted to let everyone know that we just launched a campaign for our next digital tabletop project: One Deck Dungeon. One Deck Dungeon is a cooperative dungeon crawling adventure contained in a single deck of cards. Choose your hero and venture into a new dungeon with each shuffle. Battle with baddies and overcome perils by rolling different colored dice, then claim your loot and continue deeper until you defeat the boss. The tabletop game was successfully Kickstarted in 2016, and earlier this year a full size expansion called Forest of Shadows drew nearly twice as much attention. We’ve partnered with the creators at Asmadi Games to bring the game to Steam!
We’d love it if you’d check out our next project, and help us spread the word if you know anyone who might be interested!

What's New in Version 2.5.2 - Bug fixes!

The nefarious Villains of the Multiverse conspired to cause several bugs in version 2.5. The stalwart heroes at Handelabra have dealt them a crushing blow!

  • Smoldering Crystal can no longer be added to a hero's hand if they don't actually take damage. No free lava!
  • Santa Guise doesn’t make Greazer run away when he opens presents anymore. Presents for all!
  • There was an infinite loop situation with Cryo Bot, Impeccable Pompadour, and Fixed Point. Now Impeccable Pompadour only reacts if it has more than 0 HP.
  • There was another infinite loop with A Good Time Span and increased damage. Now A Good Time Span only reacts to damage coming from targets other than La Capitan.
  • Some cases where Prime Wardens Tempest’s innate power could cause a freeze or be unaffected by damage reduction have been corrected.
  • Espionagent now only provides immunity to damage from targets (not non-target cards).
  • Improbable Grapple no longer causes a freeze when Fright Train is incapacitated during its effect.
  • Heroes Unallied no longer triggers on 0 damage.
  • Several of Parse’s cards are fixed to work properly when a Magma Crystal is discarded.
  • Some timey wimey wibbly wobbly stuff with La Capitan’s Throwback and Stitch and Time has been sorted out.
  • Citizens Hammer & Anvil now behave properly if one of them is removed from the game. They’re not happy about it though.
  • When Glamour is preventing damage redirection because Tachyon is active in the game, it is now shown in the damage preview in most cases. More complex cases will be handled in a later update.
  • Plus many more small bug fixes too numerous to list.

What's New in Version 2.5 - Villains of the Multiverse

Many villains threatening the Multiverse have been bested by hero teams like the Freedom Five, Dark Watch or Prime Wardens. Some of them have seen the value of cooperating towards a common goal. They have joined forces to defeat the heroes who have harried them for so long! http://store.steampowered.com/app/467512/Sentinels_of_the_Multiverse__Villains_of_the_Multiverse/ The Villains of the Multiverse mega-expansion is now available from the Get Expansion Packs screen. It includes 10 Team Mode villains, which can be faced in any configuration and combined with Vengeance villains, as well as 4 exciting new environments. Season Pass 2 owners will automatically receive Villains of the Multiverse. If you don't have Season Pass 2 yet, you can still get it and save money on the final 3 mega-expansions and 2 mini packs. This update includes many more improvements and bug fixes, including:

  • There are two new variants to discover! Requires Shattered Timelines and/or Vengeance.
  • Find out more about the Multiverse with extra information links on each hero, villain, and environment. Each deck in the Multiverse now links to the related official wiki pages, Letters Page episodes, strategy guides, and statistics summaries.
  • See the full size artwork on any character card with the new button that toggles card text.
  • The way expansions work in multiplayer has changed to make it easier for new players to join the community, and for friends to join your games. Now by default, anyone can join any game, and the expansions available to play will depend on what everyone in the game owns.
  • Fixed a problem where Omnitron-U's innate power was unaffected by temporary effects (e.g. Legacy's innate power).
  • Fixed some problems related to Challenge Mode Spite: Agent of Gloom.
Note: Challenge Mode is not yet available for Villains of the Multiverse decks and Trickster Kismet. It will be added in a future update.

What's New in Version 2.4 - Challenge Mode Termi-Nation Variants! Plus, Bottom of the 9th announced!

As you are reading this, version 2.4 of Sentinels with Challenge Mode has been released for your gaming indulgence. First off, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone that came together to unlock the stretch goal during the Season 2 campaign. We wouldn’t have been able to accomplish anything we have thus far without our unwavering community. The Challenge Mode stretch goal was reached by raising over $110,000 through a combination of Kickstarter and mobile backers, and we’re happy to finally bring it to you. You’re all stellar, and our little Handelabra hearts are grateful you believed in us.

Challenge Mode

So you think Sentinels is too easy? Now, each villain gets another “twist” to their rules, adding that extra delicious layer of strategy to spice up your Sentinels game. And for those who want add even more fire to the flames, Ultimate Mode allows you to play with both the rules from Advanced AND Challenge Mode at the same time. Grand Warlord Voss isn’t being cutesy anymore, oh no, he’s playing the top card of his deck every time he flips. Think you can show him a dose of justice? Or how about The Matriarch who has made all her domain cards indestructible? Or Spite, gaining an unlimited amount of HP? They dare you to try and stop their nefarious ploys! For the achievement hunters out there, we’ve added two new achievements: Challenge Accepted for defeating all of the core game villains on Challenge Mode, and The Ultimate Hero for defeating all of the core game villains on Ultimate Mode. You can find out about each challenge mode by reading the full villain cards in the New Game screen or the Multiverse. Or download the PDF made by Greater Than Games here.

Termi-Nation Variants

Just in time to help quell this new wave of villainy, Termi-Nation takes the stand! Searching for the mystery behind Chokepoint, Absolute Zero, Bunker, and Unity work together to uncover some shady business going on before it’s too late. Each hero variant also has sweet new powers to help you vanquish bad dudes:
  • Unity: Reconfigure - Destroy a Mechanical Golem, then shuffle it into your deck. Move a Mechanical Golem from your trash into play. You may draw a card.
  • Bunker: Modulize - Destroy 1 of your Ongoing or Equipment cards. If you do, draw a card, play a card, and use a power in any order.
  • Absolute Zero: Violent Shivers - Until the end of your next turn, increase all damage dealt to and by Absolute Zero by 2.
As usual, the unlock conditions for the Termi-Nation variants are waiting to be discovered by you! Remember, the first person to contact us on Facebook or Twitter with a screenshot showing their successful unlocking of a Variant earns a spot in the Hall of Fame. Be sure to update your game to version 2.4 to access all this Sentinels goodness. On iOS and Android, re-download your expansion packs (in particular Mini-Pack 1 and Rook City, or Season Pass 1) to make sure you have the latest content.

New Business

Challenge Mode and Termi-Nation should keep you busy for a while, but you’ll be happy to know we’re also hard at work on the next part of Season 2: Villains of the Multiverse. What's New in Version 2.3.2 - Bug Fixes Galore

This update has plenty of bug fixes to help you keep on saving the Multiverse!

  • Cards that look for the targets with the highest or lowest HP now show you that information when you view the full size card.
  • When a dynamic damage amount changes during the damage dealing event (e.g. redirecting Lightspeed Barrage with Synaptic Interruption) the animation now reflects the change.
  • When a new damage event occurs during a damage dealing event, both animations are now correctly displayed.
  • Fixed a problem with Restart Game and Try Again for the Adamant Sentinels.
  • Entomb once again works correctly when Sky-Scraper is in the game.
  • Fixed problems where Caliginous Form would not work properly with redirected damage or villain targets that were immune to damage.
  • Some players were experiencing significant lag at the start of the second hero turn; this should now be resolved.
  • Many other small bug fixes and improvements have been made.

What's New in Version 2.3 - Vengeance!

Baron Blade has long suffered at the hands of self-proclaimed "heroes." No longer! He has gathered a team, the Vengeful Five. Baron Blade will have his Vengeance! The Vengeance mega-expansion is now available. It includes 5 new heroes, 2 new environments, and a brand new way to play the game against a team of 3-5 villains. There are 3 new hero variants to discover in this expansion! You can read more about the Vengeance content on our blog Vengeance is also available as part of Season Pass 2. http://store.steampowered.com/app/467511/ Season Pass 2 owners will automatically receive Vengeance. This update includes many more improvements and bug fixes, including:

  • Every environment in the game and expansion packs has 5 new background images to support Vengeance and provide more variety.
  • Any time a card is played out of turn, you now first see the back of the card so you know what deck it belongs to.
  • Prime Wardens Captain Cosmic’s innate power can no longer be “stacked.” You may only draw or play a card if you shuffle the destroyed construct into your deck.
  • The behavior of Shinobi Assassin has been changed so it no longer cancels the draw/reveal/discard/etc that causes it to enter play from the top of a hero deck. For example, if you draw a card and Shinobi Assassin is on top of your deck, first the Assassin comes into play and then you get a card.
  • Fixed a problem where Weekly One-Shot covers could not be awarded properly when playing in multiplayer.
  • Fixed an issue in multiplayer where games could get stuck if the Team Leader disconnected.

A Prelude to Vengeance - Listening/Viewing Party Tuesday, with Christopher and Adam!

Vengeance is almost ready, and we couldn’t be happier to be putting the finishing touches on the first mega-expansion in Season 2 - Sentinels of the Multiverse: Vengeance. As you know if you’ve been watching #SentinelsLive every week, or catching up on the episodes on our YouTube channel, we’ve been previewing Vengeance for the last month. If you haven’t had a chance to check it out, it looks something like this:

We’ve shown you Baron Blade, Friction, Ermine, Proletariat and Fright Train in several different configurations, we’ve played heroes Parse, K.N.Y.F.E, The Naturalist, and The Sentinels, and we’ve braved the Freedom Tower and Mobile Defense Platform environments. But there’s one big piece of the experience that’s been missing up until now, and that is the music by our in-house maestro, Jean-Marc. As we’re nearing the release of Vengeance, it’s now time to remedy this! As has become our tradition before a major release, we’re throwing our next listening/viewing party tonight - Tuesday, December 13th on #SentinelsLive. The show begins at 6 PM Eastern (one hour earlier than usual). Join us to be among the first outside the hallowed halls of Handelabra Games to hear the newest sounds of the Multiverse. And trust us when we say - this listening party will be unlike any we’ve had so far. If you can’t watch live, fear not! We always post the episodes to YouTube within a day or two so you won’t be missing out for long.

#CentenariesLive

Aside from the listening party, #SentinelsLive this week is special for another reason - believe it or not, tomorrow will be our 100th episode!
To celebrate, the stream kicks off at 6 PM with 2 special guests, the architects of the Multiverse themselves, Christopher Badell and Adam Rebottaro! Show up right at the top of the show with your Questions of the Multiverse and the creators themselves will be on hand to to answer them (or at least, respond to them in such a way that generates further mystery). In addition to special guests and the Vengeance Listening/Viewing Party, we’ll also have some giveaways and maybe a surprise or two, in addition to that wonderful #SentinelsLive action you know and love, like Jeremy playing the wrong card while John exasperatedly asks “Why did you do that”?
Not Long Now... So when can you play Vengeance? All we can tell you right now is… Soon™. But if you want the latest news as it comes, follow us on Twitter or Facebook, tune into #SentinelsLive tomorrow at 6 PM Eastern, or join our mailing list. If you are already doing one or all of those things, you probably already know about our Holiday Stocking Stuffer Sale. We’re selling special printable Steam Keys that you can print, cut and fold to make a great gift to give that super-someone in your life this holiday season. This promotion is only for Steam as they are designed to be printed and given as gifts and Steam is the only store we work with that makes this sort of thing easy. We can’t wait for you all to start saving the world from the Vengeful Five, and then it’s on to the next mega-expansion: Villains of the Multiverse. Happy Holidays from Handelabra Games: Jeremy John Jean-Marc Jennifer Crista

What's New in Version 2.2.3 - The Prime Wardens!

Here at Handelabra Games we are hard at work on the first mega-expansion of Season 2. Vengeance is still very much in progress, and we decided to make the wait a little bit easier between expansion packs. We’re happy to announce that version 2.2.3 of Sentinels of the Multiverse is launching today. This FREE update includes support for a new team of 5 Variant heroes: the Prime Wardens.
Anthony Drake is the latest to take up the mantle of “Virtuoso of the Void.” It is the job of the Virtuoso to stand against the Spirit of Chaos herself, Akash’bhuta. But it’s not an easy task. The Argent Adept could be so much more effective with a solid team at his back… but it’s not clear that he knows it yet. As always with new Variants, it’s up to you to hunt them down! The first person to take a screenshot of their successful unlocking of a Variant, and share it to us via Twitter or Facebook earns a coveted spot in the Hall of Fame. This time, only the Argent Adept will be available for unlocking immediately. Once someone unlocks him and claims the Hall of Fame spot, the other members of the team will become available for unlocking. Keep track at SentinelsDigital.com/primewardens to see which variants are available for unlocking, along with other info. Remember - you must own a hero in order to use a Variant of that hero. For the Prime Wardens, that means Season Pass 1, or Infernal Relics (for the Argent Adept) and Wrath of the Cosmos (for Captain Cosmic). Fanatic, Haka, and Tempest are available in the core game. Story Challenges (a.k.a. unlock conditions) can sometimes require expansions as well. However, as with all other Variants, 30 days after they are released you can unlock them with just a button push in the New Game screen. Keep an eye out for more Variant packs in the future - Greater Than Games have created quite a few for us to bring to the video game. As always, thanks for playing and we’ll see you out in the Multiverse!

This collector’s pack will allow you to use the new artwork with animated foil visual effects in your games. In multiplayer, everyone will get to see which card you chose to play with, even if they don’t own the collector’s pack. As we add new content to the game, the pack will get the new cards added to it for no additional charge.
You can purchase the Collector’s Pack for $4.99 USD (local prices may vary). If you added a Steam key for the Digital Foil Hero Collector’s Pack to your pledge during the Season 2 campaign, read on! Version 2.2 also includes several small bug fixes and improvements.

Thanks to our campaign backers, Season 2 is becoming a reality. For backers, please visit this update for instructions on how to redeem your rewards. A purchase of Season Pass 2 will get you all remaining official content for Sentinels of the Multiverse, as it becomes available. This will include:

  • Vengeance - Baron Blade is building a team of his own, hoping that strength in numbers could be what he needs to emerge victorious against the ever-growing collection of heroes.
  • Villains of the Multiverse - Following Baron Blade’s example, even more villains have put aside their petty differences to join forces against our heroes!
  • Mini-Pack 4 - 2 Heroes join the fight, another Villain emerges, and our heroes are put on trial!
  • Void Guard (Mini-Pack 5) - The team previously known as “The Southwest Sentinels” have harnessed the power of OblivAeon shards and become the Void Guard!
  • OblivAeon - This is it. The end of the Multiverse. Can the Sentinels of the Multiverse stop the entity that seeks to destroy all that we work to protect?
Vengeance is now in heavy development and is expected to launch later this year. But thanks to the more than 3000 backers who over-funded the Season 2 Kickstarter back in May, you don’t have to wait for Vengeance to start playing. A purchase of Season 2 right now gets you the Season 2 Preview Pack, a 3-deck Mini-Pack including:
  • Setback, the unluckiest hero who brings “a change from better to worse” from Vengeance
  • Chokepoint, the ferro-kineticist villain from Mini-Pack 4
  • The Temple of Zhu Long, a dark and mysterious environment from Villains of the Multiverse

And coming soon, we will have a new Variant to discover. Joining Expatriette, Mister Fixer, and NightMist on the Dark Watch team, meet Dark Watch Setback! As always with a new Variant, the first person to prove they’ve unlocked him will earn eternal glory in the Hall of Fame. To claim the prize, you must capture a screenshot of the moment you unlock the Variant and be the first to share it to us either via Twitter, or on our Facebook page. The Variant hunt will begin once Season Pass 2 is released for iOS.

Other Improvements in Version 2.1

  • Easily invite friends to your multiplayer games by using the new Invite button to send them a link. They can tap the link to launch Sentinels and join your game.
  • Two new options are available in the Display tab to simplify the in-game graphics and improve performance on older devices.
  • Fixed some issues relating to multiplayer connectivity and rejoining games.
  • Minor text fixes.

What's New in Version 1.9.1 - Bug Fixes!

Bugs. Glitches. General wackiness. That seems to be most of what those Handelabra characters put into the last update, besides me of course. I’m Guise, and I’m even better than before! They tell me that the worst problems have been fixed… we’ll see about that!

  • My lovable mug now shows up on my Weekly One-Shot, and at the end of the game. Brick walls are boring!
  • The Argent Adept and Mister Fixer no longer get to play with their presents before they are opened. Tsk tsk!
  • Fixed Point no longer allows multiple Limited cards to be in play after being flipped face up. Everyone likes presents, but come on!
  • If there’s nobody else around to high five, the game won’t get stuck anymore. However, you may experience a momentary feeling of loss.
  • Powers on equipment borrowed by Lemme See That can now be used out of turn properly. That was annoying!
  • Overcharging the Overcharged Systems would cause a terrible code explosion and make bad things happen. Not anymore, I think!
  • It was fun to watch Kismet’s Talisman get blown up over and over and over and over and over and over by the Volcanic Eruption… NOT.
  • Trust me there were more weird things, too many to write about here. All fixed! Yep!

What's New in Version 1.9 - It's me! Guise!

Hi there! Pay attention now. It's me: Guise. You know me. This is all you need to know about this update: PROS: You can download me! I am awesome. CONS: some weird blue alien guy and a dangerous robot factory, but don't worry about them. I'm Guise. I'm the best. Season Pass 1 owners will automatically receive Mini-Pack 3. Sweet! http://store.steampowered.com/app/467510 The Handelabra guys and gals tell me there's more stuff in this update too. Whatever! You know what it's really about. Me!

  • You can now view your collection of Weekly One-Shot covers in grid format.
  • The New Game screen now also supports sorting decks by difficulty/complexity.
  • Multiplayer chat has an improved font (Comic Neue) that supports lower case, multiple languages, and special characters.
  • Fixed a few more bugs here and there.

Season 2 is Almost Here - Join the Fight!

There is one week left in the Season 2 Kickstarter campaign, and success is within sight. The campaign is over $76,000 funded toward the $80,000 goal - that’s 95% and climbing!
Season 2 will include tons more content to expand the game you already know and love. There are three mega-expansions (Vengeance, Villains of the Multiverse, and OblivAeon) along with several mini-expansions. It includes 16 new heroes, 16 new villains, 9 new environments, and two brand new game modes. If you have been waiting to see how the campaign is going before pledging, now is the time to get on board with over 2,190 other Sentinels and help make Season 2 a reality. With just 150 new Season 2 pledges we’ll reach the funding goal, and start working toward stretch goals. Over the last couple weeks we have announced several exciting updates that may pique your interest.

Funding Bonuses for Every Backer

When we reach our goal, every backer (no matter what reward level) will receive in addition to their selected reward:
  • Your name in the credits of the game
  • A free copy of the Season 2: Volume 1 soundtrack ($8.99 value)
  • Exclusive Character Wallpaper pack
  • Core Game Environment Wallpaper pack
  • Rook City & Infernal Relics Wallpaper pack (download here)
  • And more as we unlock Stretch Goals and Social Goals!

Stretch Goals

The first few stretch goals have been announced, including bonuses that all backers will receive when we get to them. They include:
  • $85k - Digital-First Variant immediately unlocked in-game
  • $90k - Exclusive Multiplayer Avatar for backers
  • $95k - Season 2 Preview Pack will be released this summer, featuring Setback, Chokepoint, and the Temple of Zhu Long
  • $110k - Villain Challenge Modes will be added to the game
  • More to come!

Add-Ons

You can add-on several items to your pledge, including extra Steam keys for Season Pass 2, Steam keys for the Core Game and Season Pass 1, soundtracks, and more. Extra Steam keys make great gifts and help us reach the funding goal and stretch goals!

Digital Foil Collector’s Packs

Also available as add-ons are Steam keys for the Hero and Villain digital foil packs. These packs will include alternate artwork for every hero and villain character card in the game.

Why back the Kickstarter instead of waiting?

Season Pass 2 is only guaranteed to exist at all if the Kickstarter campaign succeeds. We need your help to make sure it can be built! Backing the Kickstarter gets you the same Steam key for Season Pass 2 you could get later, but this way your money also counts toward stretch goals. Furthermore, each backer gets some bonus content when we fund, and stretch goals will also include bonus content only for backers. The more you help, the more you (and everyone else) will get! Just like heroes fighting for freedom, this is a team effort! If you’re curious about why we’re using Kickstarter to fund the development of Season 2, check out our update that dives into the details of the costs of game development. To learn more about how we build Sentinels content, you can watch the Dev Diary videos we’ve posted so far: Thanks for reading and we appreciate your support. The Multiverse needs you! • Fixed a problem where multiple activations of Next Evolution would not work in some situations.
  • You can now see the destroyed Construct card when Sustained Influence triggers.
  • Fixed some problem interactions with The Living Weapon and The Seeker title cards.

Sentinels Season 2 Kickstarter now live!

With the release of Wrath of the Cosmos last week, we are just one Mini-Pack away from the end of Season 1. That means it’s time to turn our attention to Season 2, and ALL the remaining content for Sentinels of the Multiverse, but we need your help! Starting today, April 18th at 11 am Eastern, and continuing until May 13th, we are raising money for Season 2 via Kickstarter. Visit the Kickstarter Page now to pledge your support and make Season 2 a reality.

What you can expect in Season 2

  • Vengeance - The Vengeful Five, lead by Baron Blade have joined forces to battle our heroes team vs team! Also including 5 Heroes and 2 Environments, this is the first Mega-Expansion in Season 2.
  • Villains of the Multiverse - The second Mega-Expansion sees 10 more join the ranks of the villainous to give our heroes a real run for their money! When combined with the Vengeful Five, these 15 villains create almost 400,000 unique villain teams to defeat.
  • Mini-Pack 4 - Including Stuntman, Benchmark, the Celestial Tribunal and Chokepoint, this mini-pack rounds out the standalone mini-expansions for the tabletop.
  • Void Guard (Mini-Pack 5) - Previously known as the Southwest Sentinels, the power of the OblivAeon shards has made each team member a hero in their own right.
  • OblivAeon - The end of Multiverse as we know it… Unless you can figure out how to stop it!
We’re kickstarting all of the above, but we’ve also got some great features planned if we can reach our goal and keep going. Check back on the campaign often between now and May 13th. The Multiverse needs you! Pledge Now!

It is the Day of the Bloodsworn and Wrath of the Cosmos is now making its way through the tubes of the Internet. Fight for glory in the Bloodsworn Colosseum, visit the Enclave of the Endlings, and stave off the herald of Oblivaeon, but don’t get caught in the middle of a civil war in Dok’Thorath Capital! http://store.steampowered.com/app/451710 Wrath of the Cosmos is available for $4.99 (USD) or as part of Season Pass 1 for $19.99 (USD). You may need to quit and restart your Steam client for it to see the update. The Handelabra team will be out there playing multiplayer as much as possible over the next few days, so we hope to see you out in the Multiverse. (You may even earn an achievement for playing with us.) And don’t forget, Sentinels of the Multiverse: The Video Game is now just $9.99 on Steam ($39.99 for a 5 pack) so it’s more affordable than ever to outfit an entire team to save the Multiverse!

Season 2 is coming to Kickstarter!

As we teased on #SentinelsLive last night, the countdown at Sentinels Digital is ticking off the seconds until Season 2 will be live on Kickstarter. The campaign will launch Monday, April 18th at 11:00 am Eastern time. There will be lots more information about Season 2 once the Kickstarter is live. There has been some speculation, and we can now confirm that the Season 2 will cover ALL remaining expansions for Sentinels of the Multiverse:
  • Vengeance
  • Villains of the Multiverse
  • OblivAeon
  • Void Guard
  • All remaining Mini-Expansions
Join us for a special episode of #SentinelsLive on Twitch, kicking off at 10:45 am Eastern on the 18th, to coincide with the launch of the Kickstarter! We’ll be streaming for at least an hour, and will be ready to answer any questions you might have about Season 2. Be sure to tell all your friends about the Kickstarter and pledge on Monday if you can! We are excited to bring Season 2 to you and we’ll need your help to make the campaign a success.

What about Mini-Pack 3?

We’re happy to say that Mini-Pack 3 is well underway. In fact, it’s not completely outside the realm of possibility that it will be completed before the Kickstarter wraps up on May 13th - but as always, that’s not a release date, just a goal. Stay tuned throughout the next month for more info on Mini-Pack 3, including exclusive previews on #SentinelsLive.

  • Many more bug fixes and improvements have been made.

[ 2016-04-13 16:39:43 CET ] [ Original post ]

Wrath of the Cosmos is coming April 13th!

It’s time to take the battle into space with the 4th and final full expansion in Season 1: Wrath of the Cosmos. As declared by Kaargra Warfang herself, this coming Wednesday, April 13th is “The Day of the Bloodsworn” and she is drafting all of you Sentinels to come and fight for her amusement! Will you be able to hold off her gladiators and win the favor of the crowd? http://store.steampowered.com/app/451710 Other challenges await you in this expansion including a tale of brothers torn apart by a sinister cosmic power, and the first inklings of a darker evil on the horizon. Progeny arrives as the herald of something called “OblivAeon,” though what that might be, we’re not exactly sure. Like the other full expansions, Wrath of the Cosmos includes 8 full decks, listed below:

Heroes

Captain Cosmic Hugh Lowsley and his brother Nigel were watching the sky one night when a strange metorite crashed nearby. They found a glowing crystal, which assaulted the brothers with energy, knocking them unconscious. When Hugh came to, his brother had disappeared, but he had gained powers of energy manipulation! As Captain Cosmic, Hugh fights alongside the heroes of the Multiverse, but he is constantly searching for his lost brother. Sky-Scraper Portja Kir-Pro was a Thorathian freedom fighter with size-changing powers. However, everything changed when the Bloodsworn Colosseum manifested on Dok’Thorath and she was taken hostage. Now, having made her escape with the heroes of Earth, Portja fights as Sky-Scraper: the Proportionist! She wields both her power to change her size and mass, as well as her knowledge of subterfuge and skill with her “links”, which she uses to control and subdue her opponents.

Villains

Kaargra Warfang The Bloodsworn Colosseum moves from place to place, seemingly at random. Wherever it lands, Kaargra Warfang forces the local inhabitants to fight as gladiators, vying for the favor of the crowd. The Bloodsworn Colosseum could appear anywhere, and any nearby heroes will be forced to fight for survival! Infinitor The events that led to Hugh Lowsley gaining powers were less kind to his brother Nigel. After encountering the crystal, Nigel awoke to madness. In a blind panic, he drew on unknown powers and flew out into space, pulsing a sickly green. Nigel drifted among the stars, only existing to listen. At first, he heard only screams. Then, those screams turned to horrifying whispers, until Nigel was no more. All that remained was Infinitor, the apotheosis of infinite madness. Progeny From far beyond our galaxy came a spark of creation. It arced through space and drove into the heart of our planet. As cosmic events transpired, that spark was called to wake. Progeny was born, surging up through the crust of the earth. It knew its two directives. Its first command: destroy. Its second command was less simple, but even more important: it must prepare for the arrival of its progenitor. Progeny is the harbinger of the downfall of the human race, and with it, the Multiverse itself. Deadline Tarogath watched the end of his people hundreds of years ago, and now lives in the Enclave of the Endlings as the last of his kind. Recently, he observed the beginning of another extinction event -- on the planet Earth! He traveled there to try to slow, if not stop entirely the cosmic events which threatened their very existence. With a heavy heart, Tarogath took the mantle of Deadline and sought to leave a scar from which humanity may never fully recover…

Environments

The Enclave of the Endlings When the only other remaining member of her race finally died, Jansa Vi Dero was truly alone. Her race, the Varusiods, were phenomenally long-lived people, but they were all beyond the age of reproduction. It was only a matter of time. But that was centuries ago. Now, Jansa Vi Dero has built a new society for herself. In the Enclave of the Endlings, any races whose light is beginning to flicker are preserved in the existence of their final representative. Some villainous minds have thought to take advantage of the power of the Endlings... Dok’Thorath Capital After the destruction of the Thorathian Conquering Fleet and the disappearance of Grand Warlord Voss, the Thorathian homeworld of Dok’Thorath was left in a state of turmoil. The powerful Thorathian Military was now leaderless, and the outnumbered and outgunned Dok’Thorath Freedom Fighters were now more organized than their oppressors. Now, the heroes of Earth find themselves on this distant planet, pursuing a deadly foe to stop their dastardly plot...

A Villanous Variant

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a new variant villain in Sentinels of the Multiverse. Infinitor makes his debut in Wrath of the Cosmos, and comes with a variant to unlock: Heroic Infinitor! Can you help Nigel fight back against the whispers of OblivAeon and stand alongside his brother Hugh (a.k.a. Captain Cosmic) in the ranks of the heroic? The variant hunt will begin when the update is available on all platforms. Remember, the first person to contact us on Facebook or Twitter with a screenshot showing their successful unlocking of a Variant earns a spot in the Hall of Fame.

Stay Organized

The version 1.8 update to Sentinels will also include a couple of handy new features. You can now organize the decks in the New Game screen to group alphabetically or by expansion pack, and hide specific expansions. If you want to randomize a game with exclusively new content, you’ll like this feature!
You may have already noticed since Shattered Timelines and Chrono-Ranger that the game interface could get a little nutty with many cards next to one another. This problem could get even worse with Captain Cosmic and Sky-Scraper, who are all about playing cards next to cards (next to cards, next to cards, next to…). Version 1.8 has a new layout system to make sure you won’t miss anything, and a new button in the full size card popup to navigate “next to” cards and see exactly what is next to what.

Season Pass holders:

If you already own Season Pass 1, you will get access to the new decks automatically. Your Steam client should automatically download and install the new content when you press Play. You may need to quit and restart your Steam client for it to see the update.

Price Drop!

Oh and by the way, starting today, Sentinels of the Multiverse is just $9.99 (USD) on Steam! That means the game is now the same price across all platforms. The Steam 5-pack price also reflects this change so it will now be just $39.99 (USD) to outfit an entire team to take on the Multiverse!

What's New in Version 1.7.2 - Sentinels on a Diet

Version 1.7.2 is now available. The biggest change is that the game is now smaller! While we work on the game, the developers of Unity are also busy upgrading the game engine that Sentinels is built upon. Unity 5.3 has several great new features, including support for LZ4 compressed asset bundles (gory details here). In order to conserve memory we previously had to use uncompressed asset bundles, but now we can use LZ4 and get the best of both worlds. Thanks Unity, you’re the best!

  • Reduced the on-disk file size of the game and expansion packs by 75%.
  • Music tracks in Mini-Pack 2 and Shattered Timelines have been updated.
  • Various other small bug fixes have been made.

What's New in Version 1.6.1 - Weekly One-Shot!

Playing Sentinels of the Multiverse by yourself is lots of fun. Playing multiplayer with your friends is even better. Hanging out with us when we play live on Tuesday nights is great too. But now, we’re taking it a step further. How about playing with everyone in the world? Enter the Weekly One-Shot.
Today, we are releasing version 1.6.1 of Sentinels of the Multiverse and aside from the usual bug-fixes, the biggest new feature is aimed squarely at continuing to build the wonderful Sentinels Community. It can be fun to find a really great matchup and then see how your friends do from the same starting point. The Weekly One-Shot works with the same idea - let’s all play the same setup, and then talk about how we did. It works like this: Every week, updated at midnight GMT on Tuesday, a new Weekly One-Shot will appear in the game. It will be a specific set-up, designed by the Handelabra Games and Greater than Games teams. The villain, environment, heroes and hero order will all be fixed and it will be the current issue for 7 days (until the next One-Shot is posted). It’s then up to you to complete the game, collect the One-Shot and compare notes with your fellow Sentinels. What do we mean “collect?” Just like in the world of comics, our Weekly One-Shots are designed as standalone comics to be collected. Completing the One-Shot (either in single player, multiplayer, or both) allows you to collect that issue and add it to your collection. How and when you complete it will dictate the grade of the comic you collect. Fine: Win the One-Shot while it is the current issue, and you will be awarded a “Fine” comic commemorating your accomplishment. However, there are 2 special grades of comic for those that go above and beyond the call of duty, and have a little bit of luck. Near-Mint: Win the current One-Shot on your first or second try and your comic will be “Near-Mint”. You can use undo and still score a Near-Mint comic, however… Mint: For the truly intrepid, there is the ever-elusive “Mint” comic. If you win the current One-Shot on your first try, AND without using undo at any point in the game, you will earn the rare Mint comic. Just like in real life, finding a Mint condition comic requires a bit of luck. They are a rare and special thing, so don’t worry if your collection doesn’t have them all. Good: All the above comics can be collected as long as the One-Shot is current, but if you ever miss one don’t worry! You can always play back issues and still earn a perfectly respectable “Good” comic. Over time, you’ll build your own personal collection of Weekly One-Shot comics! The first Weekly One-Shot launches today and has you taking on Mad Bomber Blade at Megalopolis with a team of Variant Freedom 4 members: Young Legacy, G.I. Bunker, Super Scientific Tachyon and Rook City Wraith. If you have yet to unlock all those Variants, don’t worry - in the Weekly One-Shot you can play with any variants regardless of their unlock status. However, if a One-Shot requires expansion content, you will need to own that expansion pack to participate. Once you’ve played the Weekly One-Shot, head to your favorite place to chat about Sentinels and compare notes (Handelabra Games forum, Greater than Games forum, Steam forum). Our main goal with the Weekly One-Shot is to keep people playing and talking about Sentinels and to keep the community growing. We really hope you enjoy it. We have more plans about how to use and grow this feature in the future but for now, get out there are start collecting your Weekly One-Shots!

Hotfix Update 1.6.2

A hotfix update has been posted that fixes some issues with Weekly One-Shot multiplayer game setup. You may still experience some glitches when games have a Team Leader playing on iOS or Android, which have not yet received the update.
