From the depths of Hell we wish you a merry christma- ARGHHH!... *sigh* erh, we mean: Happy holidays! Our unholy best wishes to all your kin and a happy new year! Thank you to everyone who has bought the game and/or supported us as we have been making one of the weirdest and most hardcore soccer games ever (maybe?). We are happy with the game so far but at the same time we also feel that there are some key things still missing. So what is going on right now: We were well on our way towards a Christmas Update but have decided to take a step back and focus on making the gameplay even tighter, making the current content even more awesome and generally just making BGoF the best 2-player football brawler possible. Not being able to push new content is always a bummer but we feel that in the long run this is the right decision for the game. Okay, what's planned for next year: There will be a series of gameplay revamps and tweaks, we hope you bear with us as we focus the first updates on just tightening the core experience. The reward afterwards will be a series of content updates featuring awesome new maps, each with a unique mechanic and new trainers with a set of sick new moves. Great, anything else? Expect a final launch date to be announced as soon as winter break is over! We are determined to get the game out of Early Access next year and we are currently ironing out the details of the final stages of development. A roadmap will be provided as soon as we have nailed down everything. Happy holidays once again from everyone here and see you all next year Sincerely The Studio Gauntlet team

Totally REAL reviews
“They were all blown to pieces. All of them. I now have crippling PTSD... but it was great!” - Former spectator
“No one wants me! They just keep kicking me back and forth! 0/10, I refuse to be a part of this anymore!” - The football
“I was trying to interview one of the players, but he wasn’t... all there.” - Totally REAL reporter
About the Game
Blue team takes the ball! Look at them go! But what is this?! A player of the Red team has found a baseball bat! A classic move, let us see how it plays out!
Football fan or not, having friends or not, this game is for you!
This fun, frustrating and pretty chaotic game is great to play with friends or through matchmaking. Stranger Danger
The Basics:
- Each team consists of three football players.
- Each stadium is different:
- On our old-school grassy pitch, a violent referee awaits to punish all fouls he sees, unlike real life football there is some actual violence worth going to the ground for.
- Everyone used to play football in someones backyard when they were young. Relive that experience in our garden stadium, full of annoying bugs, just like you remember it.
- Always wanted to experience the highlands? We got you covered, on our Scotland inspired pitch you’ll encounter more sheep than people, just like in real life.
- Have an overwhelming amount of friends to play with? Create a league with them all and battle to the last man standing.
- No friends at all? Play competitively in the matchmaking ranked mode on any of our premade playing fields, all requiring different tactics for you to carry away the victory.
- Leaderboards! Yes we have them. That extra bit of competitiveness for you to flex that you’ve made it into the top 10. Next to an all time leaderboard, you can hope to find your name on weekly leaderboards too.
The Fun:
- Whereas in ranked matchmaking the stadiums stay the way we made them, if you play the not so proper freestyle mode you get to choose from a wide range of modifiers to make your game extra spicy. - Want landmines and sheep in the garden stadium? You got it. Three referees obliterating your teams? Sure! Want two full 11 player teams to face off against eachother? Sounds intimate.
- Coaches! No team is complete without a coach. To add another layer of competitiveness (and also tacticery), you get to choose your team's trainer. Each has their own special ability for you to use to turn the game around in your favor.
- See your friend in a game and want to annoy them? Be a spectator! Join the people on the ranks and mess with your friends game by throwing bottles and fireworks onto the pitch (Old-school Stadium), distract unselected players by steering butterflies (Garden Stadium), anger sheep by poking them until they attack players (Highlands Stadium)
Anyone can play a game of football, but only badasses (nope, but something like that) play A Bad Game Of Football.
So you thought you mastered it…, we have one more card up our sleeves to keep things interesting:
Introducing Pay to Loose
Sick of pay to win? We are too.
Since our football players can handle a tackle, just like in the old days when players kept going despite a broken leg or two, this game comes with the option to acquire content that will make your life more difficult.
Everything from drunk, to injured, or hypochondriac players (if you like it realistic) are possible to acquire and encounter. Each comes with cosmetics for you to show off that you think this game is "too easy".
So if you feel the game isn’t challenging enough, then this is for you. Our very own interpretation of “Hard Mode”.
