Hey all! Stories from the Outbreak 1.0 has been released, marking its full release after almost a year in Early Access. This update brings massive improvements to the games narrative systems conversations have been reworked, events now have long-lasting consequences, other humans can be fought, all writing has been improved and the total written content has been doubled. This is, of course, accompanied by various gameplay improvements, fixes, new art, and more the full changelog has been appended to this announcement. Well be monitoring player feedback and releasing patches with bug fixes and other small improvements, but were also planning at least one more content update in the future, plus console releases, and, potentially, modding support. Stories from the Outbreak is a turn-based zombie RPG. Lead a group of survivors from the doomed city of Riga towards the ferry sailing across the North Sea. Scavenge for supplies, fight the zombies, decide the fate of your crew. What are you willing to sacrifice to survive the zombie plague?
Planned Features
- Form a team of survivors, hoping to escape this hell. Decide the fates of your team members: each member has unique tasks they are looking to achieve
- Characters talk between themselves, showing polarization in views. Not every team is going to reach the ferry, but their stories matter. Will different views prevent them from reaching the goals?
- Escape the dying world: traverse the area maps in search of shelter and supplies
- Fight zombies when necessary: there 20+ different enemy types in the game
Stories from the outbreak is a story generator first and foremost. Not all of the people are going to survive. Not every team is going to make it. This is how it is intended to be.
