Preface
This is the season 3 patch which will release later today, and the main focus this patch has been to add the Guild Competitions. Since guild competitions are a major and time-consuming feature, some other features have been slightly delayed, but will be released a couple of days after season launch. The delayed features are: new unique items, the premium essence stash page and guild leaderboards (with guild rewards) But fear not! Season 3 will have more continuous updates with improvements and more exciting content, including new end-game options. The developer will host a Q&A session on our Discord March 24:th at 16:00 UTC (two hours before Season 3 start), where you can ask questions. Here's what's included in this patch:
Major - Guild Sieges
- Guild Sieges have arrived! A Guild Siege is a competition between two guilds. Each participant (character) enters their own arena instance, and battles against waves of increasingly stronger monsters, while trying to defend the center Runestone. The winning Guild will receive points (and the losing Guild will lose points) and climb the ranks of the Guild Leaderboard (released later), where you can claim guild rewards such as new guild badges. This system has been designed to allow for as many matchmaking options as possible, while also allowing players from different time zones to compete together. I plan to expand on the guild points system later on with some guild-wide benefits and leadership choices. You need to be level 10K to participate in a Guild Siege. * Siege Rounds The Siege creation round starts every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 18:00 UTC, and is open for the selected guild members to join for 24 hours. A character may join a siege once per round. When the creation round ends, the challenge round starts immediately after and is open for another 24 hours. Your Guild has to create a Siege before you can participate in the challenge round. * Creating a Siege There are currently 3v3, 5v5 and 10v10 sieges available. Select which guild members you want to participate in the Siege this round. You can create as many sieges as you want per round (24h), to allow all guild members to join a siege. Only characters in game mode you select can join the siege (hardcore and softcore are separate). Achieve a good siege result by killing as many high level monsters as you can. * Challenging another Guild's Siege: "Find Siege" will matchmake your selected team against another guild's created Siege. Challenging participants can then choose their opponent and try to beat their score by joining the battle and killing higher level monsters than the opponent. The opponent siege results will not be visible when selecting your opponent, only their character level. * How to win a Siege The Guild with the most battle wins against their opponent will win the Guild Siege, and receive a higher reward. Rewards can be claimed in the Guild Siege window by each participant, and are available as soon as all participants have challenged an opponent, or when the challenge round ends. Each participant also gains a loot reward immediately after the battle, depending on how many monsters that were killed.

These are preliminary patch notes and are still subject to change - (Doing my best to get Premium Stash Tabs in this version too!). The patch will be released before Season 2 starts. I intend to add more end-game content and items as the season progresses.
Major
- Added new magic find set for Mages - Added 75 new avatar frames across all tiers - Increased maximum playable stage level to 30-10 (this will be increased further in the future) - Added new unique items, where some can drop from level 1, and some only drop on higher levels. - The auto-cast cooldown for all auto-cast idle masteries now scale with mastery level, starting at 0-5 seconds at level 1, and 0-1 seconds at level 5. This will attempt to auto-cast skills at a higher rate (but the underlying skill cooldown still applies). - Added new weapon item types: One-handed Crossbows and One-handed Wands, these are faster than their two-handed versions and can be dual-wielded (wands can also be combined with an off-hand item). Dual-wielding gives 30% more attackspeed. These items can be reinforced using Staff reinforcement and Bow reinforcements accordingly. - Added new off-hand item type: Tomes, these give implicit force field and chance to block spells. - Maximum obtainable portal/helheim level is now 10x the maximum unlocked world level (capped at 31-10) - Greatly reduced flat force field scaling on affixes and flat force field bonus from mindpower. Existing items are not adjusted retroactively, but re-rolling affix values will apply the new scaling.
Major (continued)
- Evasion changes: If you or your target does not evade the attack, another roll is performed (equal to the chance to evade) to see if the hit was a glancing hit. Glancing hits deals 50% of the total damage as a debuff over time (base duration 1 second) instead of an immediate hit. Glancing hits cannot leech. The damage type of the debuff is equal to the most dominant damage type of the hit. - Adjusted the drop rates for all armor types so that all types are now equally probable to drop (helmet, shoulders, chest, etc..) Also increased drop rates for belt and cloak to give a more uniform drop experience, this should make it easier to find complete sets. Heavy/Medium/Light armors are still biased depending on the class you play. - Season leaderboard rewards are now based on class, so each class has the chance to gain rewards independantly from each other. - Christmas event will start the 16:th of December where you can get daily presents from the christmas tree in Town. - Fixed an issue preventing your from accessing the Recovered Stash in Town for hardcore season characters.
Minor
- Attribute allocation now has an option to show a preview of the stat changes if allocating all your points, so you no longer need to click each one to see the changes. - Added damage taken conversion stats and is also displayed in player attributes. All conversions are applied together, so 10% damage taken as fire and 10% damage taken as lightning results in a net 20% damage conversion. If total conversion is over 100% then it's normalized to 100% (60% + 80% conversion becomes 43%+57% net conversion) - Wolf king boss no longer causes stun if you stand behind him during his charge. - Bolomahl boss is now a bit slower to perform his special attack - Fixed: Assigning a potion to a slot now correctly starts its cooldown - Fixed: Hunter Mark of the Chosen, Automark: no longer casts the mark as soon as the cooldown finishes - Fixed: Odr will no longer awaken if he's hit before the player passes the flame on the ground - Fixed: "Lock items"-button at the Merchant no longer discards all items. - Fixed: Yellow arrow icons no longer show on items if the item is imbued - Fixed: Attributes view: Visual calculation of "estimated leech stack duration"
Item balance changes
- Shields can now spawn All Resist affixes - All melee weapons splash damage can now crit - Increased base armor and block chance on Shields - Ring Lokulfs Wisdom now gives +2 to passive skills - Bow Heartpiercer now has 15% chance to pierce - Ring Dimensional Loop now gives 8% more item quantity in Niflheim and gives 15% more portal drops (scales with level) - Scavenger set now has 30% chance to find additional iron on drop, and does not affect the end-level chest, also slightly reduced the scaling of max number of quantity stacks. - Reduced affix values for mana gained on kill, life leech and critical strike chance - Increased base weapon damage affix on amulets by 200%
Warrior balance changes
- Warrior Slam, added new general mastery: Shockwave, that creates up to 2 additional shockwaves 30 degrees apart from the target direction. A target may only be hit once per Slam. - Warrior Frenzy dual mastery (active): Increased chance to dual strike to 2% per mastery point
Hunter balance changes
- Hunter Backflip, increased base backflip movement speed - Hunter Power shot, increased projectile radius to 8 units and base pierce chance to 95% - Hunter Power shot piercing arrows (active), now also adds 2% armor piercing per level and has 1% additional chance to pierce per level - Hunter fork passive, reduced max chance to 20% - Hunter Impaling trap, increased radius to 25 units and base damage multiplier to 750% - Hunter rapid fire (active), increased bonus attack speed to 310%, reduced buff and immobilization duration to 4 seconds. - Hunter double draw passive, reduced max chance to 30% - Hunter frozen arrow rapid freeze (active), no longer reduces freeze radius - Hunter multishot broadside mastery, each arrow can now hit the same target
Mage balance changes
- Mage Tornado: increased area of effect by 30% - Mage Infernal Blast: increased area of effect by 25% - Mage Elemental Armor passive skills (Fire/Cold/Lightning) now gives an additive increase to that element resistance% instead of multiplicative, and also converts a percentage of damage taken into that element. - Mage Elemental Seal idle mastery: Aura, now lasts up to 30 minutes at max level.

I understand that many players are not very happy with the current state of microtransactions/in-app-purchases, so I've decided to make some major changes there. I'm a solo developer, and this is my first game. I don't want to seem like the guy who's trying to get everyone to purchase just to earn money, because that's not why I started this project 20 years ago. This project is my passion, and I don't have any demands from big publishers to try and fill the game with as much MTX or p2w-aspects as possible, I don't want players to feel forced to purchase anything at all. In a world where money was not an issue, the game would be free and there wouldn't be any MTX/IAP, but since I have plans for upcoming online features, and the fact that everyone is playing online on a server, I have to cover the server costs in some way. I understand that the way I've been implementing premium features and opals is not the best from a player perspecitve, but that's why the game is in Early Access so I can listen to feedback and keep improving it. The following changes will be done:
- Character inventory size will be fully unlocked from the start, for free
- Pet loot inventory size will be fully unlocked from the start, for free
- Adding a second potion slot unlocked, for free
- X3 multiplied rewards from Offline xp/loot gains and from End-of-level rewards will be removed
- Removing the reset attributes for opals feature, and adding a new item that can drop to reset 100% of the attributes
- Giving players 1 free full mastery reset per day, with no way of using opals to reset (reducing p2w-mechanics)
- For hardcore players, any unlocks made on a character will carry over to new characters made in that season or game mode, so you only need to unlock things once.
- The merchant NPC (with opal purchases) will be removed
Improvements: - Added notification when a top 50 hardcore player dies on the season leaderboard - Pressing Esc on PC version when the pause menu is open will close the menu instead of prompting to exit the game - Made "show chat" button more visible when chat is hidden - Updated max stack size of Attribute Respec scrolls to 20 - Most of the Relics now have a higher default rarity, these are "new" relics will not stack with the old relics of E rarity - Moved the fire in Odr's Trail further away after entering the arena - Default quality at the Essence Blacksmith is now 100% instead of 0% - Defeating Odr now spawns a Town Portal - Imbuing a quiver with no available affixes now results in a failure without consuming the materials - Removed the notification of skill points gained when you're below level 10k - Improved the scrolling speed in achievements window Bugfixes: - Fixed so that the skill hotkeys work correctly after sending a chat message - Fixed the sorting order of "lower skill cooldown" Essences in the blacksmith Essence list - Fixed an issue with loading guild info in guild screen when there's a member with no characters - Fixed portals not showing correctly when using the "All items" filter override - Fixed time durations not localizing properly when switching languages
