So, our Kickstarter was able to gather only 180 euros out of 3000. Not a result to be thrilled about, but whats the big deal anyway?
Lets quote ourselves from our campaign:
So far, we have been developing our game as hobbyists in our free time, when we wanted to work on it, in between jobs and other forms of leisure. We need that confidence to be able to work as professionals at any available time, all the time, between only our jobs and necessities. This is why we are humbly asking for a small pledge of 3000, during our first of two planned Kickstarter campaigns, to gauge the interest in our game.
The Kickstarter campaign was meant to gauge if our hobby project is viable enough, for us to abandon all forms of leisure, to work on it professionally. As it turns out, we still need to keep on improving ourselves, for that to happen. As a hobby.
Still, we wish to put the project on a bit of a hiatus, to make another, smaller and not requiring funding, game. Because PlaceHolder Name Studio is not a sad bunch of e-begger. Sure, we have tried that, to get some easy buck. And sure, we may end up trying that again, because wed like to get some easy buck. But we are not e-beggers, we are game creators. So we will make a game, one that is designed to not need outside funding.
Stay tuned for the start of the next year, for an update on that!
