Characters


  • New uniquenesses - Lactose intolerance: cant consume lactose - Pale uniqueness: sunburn easier
  • Alcohol poisoning: you die if you drink too much - Characters have bloodshot eyes when drunk
  • Add LSD, drunkenness effects
  • Better punch sound
  • Stress condition occurs faster
  • Player zombification: 2% chance to contract the zombie virus & turn into a zombie over a couple days

Construction


  • Wood scrap fortifications tier: windows, doors, fences, etc.
  • Structure damage & decay: structures can now be damaged and decay over time if not maintained
  • Furniture dismantling results all wired up
  • Scrap has been added to every container in the game
  • Buildable doors
  • Door destruction
  • Door breaching (dont stand behind them)
  • Buildable water barrel that collects drinkable rainwater

World & Zombies


  • Better item spawning calculations
  • House alarms are now on map - be careful what doors you open
  • Fix glass not being easily breakable by melee weapons
  • Computers & internet - Computer logs: plenty of computers are now wired up with lore
  • Debit cards & ATMs: use debit cards at an ATM to withdraw the money on the account
  • Broken windows need to be cleared or you get damaged when climbing through them
  • Zombies break down doors
  • Stop zombies from killing each other so easily
  • Horde mode: `vein.AISpawner.HordeMode 1` to enable it
  • The mine north of Redford (you can mine the lodes inside of it by hitting them with a pickaxe)

Equipment & Weapons


  • ADS has been fixed (mostly) on weapons
  • New NP5 model
  • Flare gun, which ignites zombies
  • GPS, cellphone, compass possession determine what HUD elements you can see
  • Clock and date UI if you have a clock
  • Clothes can be torn into makeshift bandages

Interface & Experience


  • Deleting characters
  • Cooking, crafting menus now have recipes in categories
  • Construction UI quality-of-life improvements
  • Autosave option to disable autosaves
  • Admin menu for multiplayer admins, press `\` to open it
  • Support for mouse bindings in keybind menu

Misc.


  • New music
  • Halloween event, between Oct 25 and Nov 1 inclusive

VEIN is a post-apocalyptic survival multiplayer sandbox game.

In the near future, the apocalypse has occurred: hostile zombies roam the Earth, most people have died, and society has collapsed. You are a survivor.

Gather supplies to survive, explore abandoned buildings, combat bandits, defend your home, and rebuild society with friends.

Planned Features:


  • Dynamic Environment
As time passes and seasons change, the world of Vein does too. Persistent, long-scale random events affect gameplay.

  • Intelligent AI
AI can see, hear, feel, and smell you, and react intelligently to those senses. You're being watched. Terrifying zombie variants make survival that much more difficult.

  • Customizable Characters
From your hair to your body type to your stats, you can customize your character and make them truly unique among the survivors.

  • Usable Everything
You can interact with nearly everything you can see. Open mailboxes, adjust faucets, and knock on doors. Throw a can of beans at a zombie if you like.

  • Fortification
Build over the destroyed world and establish safehouses. Defend yourself from raiders and invasions. Maintain your base by yourself or with friends.

  • Long-Term Survivalism
Hunt, fish, and trap. Till land and grow your own food. Chop your own wood. Once canned goods run out, you're on your own.

  • Vehicles and Maintenance
Get around the world of Vein with cars and trucks. Refuel and maintain your vehicle. Upgrade parts to repair damage and improve performance.
